Bulletins and News Discussion from September 16th to September 22nd, 2024 - This Megathread Is Dedicated To The Brave Mujahideen Fighters of Afghanistan - COTW: Afghanistan
The COTW was chosen in the wake of the aborted sequel to the attempted assassination of Trump being performed by a guy who is VERY enthusiastic about Ukraine, to the point of trying to sneak Afghan soldiers into Ukraine by setting up a house in Pakistan to house them and then further transport them. He also apparently offered to send thousands of Afghan soldiers to Haiti to help them combat gang violence. Whomst among us doesn't have the numbers of thousands of Afghan soldiers on speed-dial. Do you reckon there's a group chat?
Anyway, while there is still no official recognition of the Taliban's government by any country, China has taken a different course than the late USSR and the US - forming economic in-roads, rather than trying their own invasion. This has been a big boon for the struggling country, with various mines and oil and agriculture deals helping keep things barely afloat. A total disintegration of the social fabric of Afghanistan is not in the interest of any of the powers that border it - China, Pakistan, and Iran, with Russia not too far away - so an interesting dynamic of helping-without-official-recognition has been established. I wonder who will be the first country to fully recognize them?
The COTW (Country of the Week) label is designed to spur discussion and debate about a specific country every week in order to help the community gain greater understanding of the domestic situation of often-understudied nations. If you've wanted to talk about the country or share your experiences, but have never found a relevant place to do so, now is your chance! However, don't worry - this is still a general news megathread where you can post about ongoing events from any country.
The Country of the Week is Afghanistan! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants. More detail here.
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful. Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section. Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war. Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis. Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses. https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.
The motherfuckers did it again, fuck this earth. One of the explosions in Sour/Tyre yesterday was less than 100m from my cousin's office. We fucking lost contact with him for hours until everything settled and we got a thumbs up in the family group chat. How is this blatant terrorism even fucking justified by these absolute freaks. So many young beautiful people leave us every single day in Lebanon, for what? The continuation of the biggest terror state since Nazi Germany. My hatred and rage are genuinely reaching uncontrollable levels, fuck everyone from Sykes to Ben Gurion to Sadat to Clinton to Abdullah
if you go into the Lebanon sub on every thread is full of people talking about how Hezbollah is an embarrassment and Israel has just won this war, and if you check their post histories every single person making those comments is either american or israeli lmao
A Lebanese resident on an online post:
ā
Yesterday, after what happened, I was just like all these pure and good people, feeling like I was hit on the head, even though I didnāt shed a single drop of blood. But the blood that was shed was the blood of my brothers.
The scene on the street felt like a scene from the horrors of the Day of Judgmentāthe fear, the panic, the blood, the chaos... all of it.
After donating blood, I went back home very late, sad, defeated, and broken.
Everyone assured us that the security incident was over, but the psychological impact it caused inside us seems to be lasting a while.
A day after the incident, you can feel the people are gloomy, burdened... sad, or more accurately, all of us are broken.
A young [wounded] friend of ours, a character, one of the most humorous people you'll ever meet, always smiling. I thought "now, for sure, he must be psychologically devastated." I went up to visit him at the hospital a short time ago, hoping to ease his pain. I faked a smile and entered:
"Swear to God, you played it right. Now you get the injured soldier's pension, and your situation is settled for good. Youāll patch up the ceiling and get married."
"Injured? Who's injured, huh?! I lost an eye and two fingers, that's all. Do you think I was a sniper? I still have another eye and three fingers on my right hand, so I can aim and shoot. Anyway, you donkey, when I shoot, I close one eye. Now, this one closed on its own! And for shooting, you only need two fingers; I have an extra one... let them dare!"
I swear to God, even if our homes were destroyed over our heads and there was only one of us left, with both legs amputated and his left hand cut off, and only one finger on his right hand, he would crawl through the rubble, find his target, and shoot.
it is so enraging that the dominant narrative surrounding israel poisoning supply chains with explosive-stuffed tech, then remotely and blindly detonating these explosives and injuring thousands of civilians would immediately be paraded around by Westerners as "israel's targeted attacks against Hezbollah"
But it's not even surprising, because these are the same rotten souls who claim israel is "fighting Hamas", even though israel has killed tens of innocent thousands of Palestinians, in addition to maiming and debilitating tens of thousands more, and leaving 2 million Palestinians with no safe place to go, little food or water to consume, and little to no access to necessary healthcare.
The US could stop all of this anytime they want. Just as WW1 was allowed to start because Austria knew that whatever dumb fuck move they made Germany would back them, Israel assumes it can act with impunity because the US stands behind them. Literally all that Biden would have to do, all that Harris would have to suggest, is that the US move from unconditional to conditional support. āYou guys can commit genocide if you want and we wonāt stop you, but we wonāt subsidise it either and if it leads to a larger war youāre on your own.ā If that message was seriously given Israel would chill tf out faster than any country in history has. In that sense the US and the Demās are just as responsible for this genocide and the oncoming war as Israel is.
"Seven years ago, 150,000 people paid us $15 to protect a pristine parcel of land on the US-Mexico border from racist billionaire Donald Trump's very stupid wall. Unfortunately, an even richer, more racist billionaireāElon Muskāsnuck up on us from behind and completely fucked that land with gravel, tractors, and space garbage."
"If we win, we'll equally split the lawsuit's net proceeds among all 150,000 of our original subscribers, up to $100 each," the company said. "While this isn't enough to compensate our subscribers for the anguish they've suffered witnessing Elon Musk defile their once-verdant landāøŗwhere wild horses galloped freely in the Texas moonlightāøŗwe think it's a pretty good start."
Lmao if you paid $15 to CAH several years ago, they're gonna give you $100 when they win.
Nasrallah's speech, courtesy of political_aya on Twitter:
The reason for my speech today is the updates during the past 2 days. I had not intended to speak before October 7 on the anniversary of Al-Aqsa Flood to give an overview and assessment of the past year, but these events require a speech. I must first, before everything, congratulate all Muslims on the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the birth of his grandson Imam Jaafar Sadeq (AS). We were also meant to commemorate the late Sheikh Hassan Trad today. However, the events do not allow for that.
I must extend my deepest condolences and warmest congratulations to the families of the martyrs, both the ones who rose during the past 2 days, and the ones on the frontlines too. We must also thank the Lebanese authorities, the Ministry of Health, hospitals, clinics, medical centers and organizations, nurses, and doctors. We must also thank everyone who rushed to donate blood and those who offered their organs. We must thank every person who helped transport the wounded to the hospitals. Some people carried them and rushed them to the hospitals, others on motorcycles and their cars. The medical sector is working tirelessly day and night to treat the wounded. One of the blessings of the blood that was shed is the unity we have seen in Lebanon, which we had not seen for a very long time. We extend our thanks to all parties, nations, leadership figures...who condemned this act and offered their condolences, and thank the nations who have sent aid and helped transport the wounded for treatment.
On Tuesday, the "israeli" enemy conducted an attack through detonating pager devices simultaneously. These devices are used by many sectors of Lebanese society, and even in the world, and not only by Hezbollah personnel. On Wednesday, the enemy repeated the attack, detonating walkie-talkie devices. It is not necessary for a brother to be carrying the device to be harmed. It is enough for it to have been set on a table. The enemy has crossed all red lines and all laws in this attack. This is a massive terrorist attack, genocide, a massacre. "The Tuesday & Wednesday massacres" is what we will call them. This is a war crime, a declaration of war...you can call it anything. When the enemy planned out this attack, they assumed there were at least 4,000 pagers spread out across all of Lebanon. This means that the enemy had the intention of murdering 4,000 people in a single minute. By repeating the attack on Wednesday, the enemy had the intention of murdering at least 5,000 human beings. God the Almighty saved us with His Mercy and Generosity. The number of martyrs was lower than the enemy had aimed for because of how the people, ambulances, medical workers...all rushed to save lives. Some pagers were also out of order. Thankfully, this saved many lives.
We formed an extensive investigative committee to study all scenarios, possibilities, and theories, and have reached an almost-definitive conclusion. We are realistic people; this attack was certainly a huge blow on the security and humanitarian level. This attack is unprecedented in the history of Lebanon and our battle against the Zionist enemy, and possibly even the history of the world. This was certainly a huge blow, but this is war; one day our enemy harms us, the other we inflict harm upon them. This enemy is backed by the US and the entire West and has the most advanced technologies recruited for their benefit. I can tell you with utmost certainty that this attack did not break us and will not break us. On the contrary, it will only increase our resolve and determination to continue on in this battle.
Why did the enemy do this? When the blessed Al-Aqsa Flood began, the Southern Lebanese support front was opened. This front has inflicted huge losses upon the enemy since October 8, as they have repeatedly admitted themselves. I am not concerned with what those who do have input or data say, and those who do not follow up on what the enemy says. The enemy cries, "We have lost the North!" They say this is the first time they receive a defeat of this nature in the North. The Southern Lebanese front has been a very effective front alongside the other support fronts. The enemy has repeatedly sent us messages to close this front. They resorted to threats of war, and attempted to differentiate between Lebanon & Gaza. Tuesday afternoon, after the first attack, the enemy sent us a message through official and unofficial channels, threatening that if we do not close our front, they have more in store for us. And so the attack on Wednesday came.
In the name of the martyrs, the wounded, the ones who lost their eyes and palms, and in the name of every person who has taken on the responsibility of supporting Gaza, we tell Netanyahu and Gallant: the Lebanese front will not stop until the war on Gaza ends. Through this attack, the enemy wanted the people of the Resistance to turn against the Resistance. This goal failed on Tuesday and Wednesday when we all saw the stances of the people and the wounded who hope to recover to return to the battlefield. The enemy thought they would destroy the formations and command and leadership units of the Resistance to create a state of chaos and confusion in Hezbollah's leadership. This did not happen for even a moment. What happened these past 2 days did not bend us, nor did it break our spirits or affect our capabilities or leadership. It did not affect our presence on the battlefield. On the contrary, it increased our strength and resolve.
Recently, the entity had been talking about shifting the center of gravity to the North in order to return the settlers. Does Netanyahu think he can achieve that? They think they can create a security zone in South Lebanon so that the settlers can live in peace. I tell Netanyahu: You cannot bring your settlers back to the North. Do as you wish; whatever you do, you will not bring them back unless you end the war on Gaza. This is a challenge between us, and I assure you, by God's will, they will not return.
The commander of the Northern region said their troops will enter South Lebanon. We wish they would do that! It requires massive intelligence efforts to track the troops at the border to target them. It would make our job easier if they came here. We would "welcome" these troops if they came to the South. You may see it as a threat, but to us, this is a historic opportunity! The security zone you dream of in the South will be turned to hell for you troops. You will face the ones you attacked on Tuesday and Wednesday, who have only become more determined to fight.
Allow me to speak with a different tone today, for this attack was done covertly: the reckoning will come, and it will be severe. I will not speak about a date or time. You will know of it when it happens; you will not hear about it before. We will keep plans and intentions for our severe response limited to our tightest circles. You will not hear anything, you shall only see. I hope the Lebanese people hold on to the sense of unity we witnessed the past 2 days, and pay no mind to the petty ones who try to create strife and division.
The enemy's foolish, narcissistic, savage leadership is leading the entity to its demise, to the abyss, God-willing. If they choose to escalate against Lebanon, that will only cause more settlers, these occupiers and land thieves, to flee from the North. I pray to Allah the Almighty to aid our Palestinian people in Gaza, who are being massacred before the world. I pray for the speedy recovery of the wounded to they could return to the battlefield. Your words for us are deeply moving & leave us embarrassed. The enemy does not understand the deep cultural and sentimental relationship the people and the Resistance have. They have failed and will fail to achieve all their goals. God-willing, grand victory awaits us. The days, weeks, months, and maybe even years are between us. This is a huge battle, and it may be a long one.
Videos coming out of Lebanon's hospitals show what Israel did was a massacre, victims especially children badly wounded. There is probably more martyrs in upcoming days.
I want to point out something, that is what we see here is Israel's response to Yemen's ballistic missile that was fired two days ago which landed near Tel Aviv, terrorizing Israelis.
Israel not only terrorized but killed people in response, now even I am worried as a Iranian living in Iran. What if Israel pull something similar here? Well, if that's what it takes to bring Israel one step closer to its downfall so be it.
According to Israeli media reports, Israeli occupation soldiers mistakenly identified an Israeli soldier as a Palestinian militant, firing over 400 shots at him as he approached a military camp in response to a call-up.
many news heads have rightly said that this pager (and now radio) attack makes sense only as a direct prelude to invasion, and the zionist entity seems to have wasted this opportunity. i also saw a comment, before the relevation that two hezbollah fighters had discovered the pagers, that āisraelā has a tendency to pull the trigger on operations as soon as they are technically feasible. this sort of strategic flailing seems odd, but it also lines up with the conclusions of a US army analysis of the 2006 āisraeliā-hezbollah war.
itās about 60 pages of actual content, and itās interesting for a number of reasons (thereās a good section on the missiles hezbollah used for people into that). now thereās a two decade sized grain of salt that should be taken here, but i doubt i could get access to current āisraeliā planning, let alone in english. the biggest conclusion for recent events is that the zionist entity has focused on counterinsurgency and air power, degrading its combined arms capabilities and doctrine to the point that it does not have them.
specifically, āisraelā has fallen for the US air forceās greatest lie - that air power and bombing can stand as a combat arm independently from ground operations. as such, the head of the military at the time was an airman, and the doctrinal changes created were both confusing and biased against ground combat. additionally, the long time focus on ācounterinsurgencyā in Gaza (the phrasing is not mine) has led to reserve mechanized equipment not being replaced, tank and mechanized crews not being trained, and minimal training at the division or batallion level. the lack of training in large formations and the fact that doctrine became more confusing as the formations got larger led to failure, broadly.
to provide an illustration, iāll run through the actions of two divisions in the last act of the war. the UN had passed a ceasefire resolution, and for reasons that are not completely clear, āisraelā planned a last hurrah offensive. the symbolic goal was the litani river. division 91 of the iof was meant to be driving towards the mediterranean, but stalled out completely. In an inquiry after the war,
The investigation concluded that commanders within the division ādid not fully understand their ordersā and āwere not present with their troops during important battles and even failed to fulfill basic missions.ā The investigation also found fault āin the way tactical orders were composed, sometimes without a time element. Since the orders were not clear, they were changed, in some cases, on an hourly basis. Brigade commanders did not properly understand their missions. . . . They didnāt know what their goals were and how long they had to fulfill their missions.ā Remarkably, according to the report, āan entire battalion sat in the same location for several days without moving and when the commander finally received orders to push deeper into enemy territory he was confused and failed to fulfill the mission.ā
division 162 was looking to take Ghandouriyeh, a town that sat on a crossroads and high ground. they had to cross a valley, Wadi al-Saluki, to get there. first, the general sent air assault elements to secure the high ground over the valley. the air assault successfully landed near two towns, cleared several occupied buildings, did not take the high ground, and then reported that they secured the high ground. 24 tanks were sent up the road, and a collapsed building in front of them and an ied behind them had them trapped. each merkava had a smoke screen to make missile aim harder. dozens of anti-tank missiles then struck the column. not a single tank deployed smoke, and 11 tanks were hit. what infantry that was near was pinned by fire, and tank crew requests for artillery or air support were denied out of fear of friendly fire. the advance stopped at that town.
to me, this paints a clear picture of modern military material (tanks, electronics, aircraft, artillery, and infantry) manned by people who donāt know how to use them. there is no feature of the actions of these divisions where their equipment failed them. moreover, i would expect any competent force with air assault, artillery, and armor elements to be able to seize a lightly defended town 10 kilometers from their border.
so the iof is made up of a large number of uncoordinated small groups, and collectively has little sense of how to put these pieces together. and you might say, āwell maybe they fixed some of that in the last twenty yearsā. i think the fact that modern merkavas have the trophy system answers whether or not that happened. itās a very cool toy, designed to blow up an oncoming anti-tank missile mid air. strapping sensitive explosives to the front of your tank means that your infantry cannot be anywhere near it. so we see dozens of unaccompanied merkavas and bulldozers parked somewhere that a resistance fighter can run up to, unopposed. we also might see a hot shot intelligence officer cook up some pager plan, report it to his commanding officer, and have it approved without anyone thinking that operations are only effective in sequence and with support.
"I think it's important to indict the Russians, just as Muller indicted a lot of Russians who were engaged in direct election interference and boosting Trump back in 2016," Clinton said, referring to 2018 indictments against Russian individuals and companies accused of election tampering to boost support for Trump in the 2016 election.
"But I also think there are Americans who are engaged in this kind of propaganda. And whether they should be civilly or even in some cases criminally charged is something that would be a better deterrence, because the Russians are unlikely, except in a very few cases, to ever stand trial in the United States."
They really want to make saying āwe should stop propping up Ukraine and pursue a peaceful end to the conflictā a crime, along with pretty much anything that challenges US hegemony, donāt they?
The intellectual martyr, Basil Al Araj's 3rd rule on the nature of war: "Never spread the occupation's propaganda, and do not contribute to instilling a sense of defeat."
Do not spread enemy propaganda in a psychological war. STOP SHARING PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF THE INJURED PEOPLE FROM TODAY! Stop forwarding media outlets like Reuters who claim to have so-called sources in the resistance.
Hi, I'm here to announce that Hexbear's News Comm is going to be changing the rules of the comm in order to better modernize rules that haven't been changed since the founding of hexbear or have been added slap-shod in the heat of the moment to address pressing issues of the day.
With that in mind, we of the News Comm mod team have decided to add an element of democracy to the process of modernizing the comm's rules by opening the floor to the participants of the comm to both propose new rules, edit or strike old rules, and after deliberation by the mod team, voting yea or nay on the finalized slate.
If you wish to participate by making proposals, please make a comment in reply to this pinned comment with your proposed motion. For your proposed motion to move to deliberation by the mod team, we'll be requiring a minimum floor of 21 votes (20 unique votes plus your own comment's initial vote).
An example of this could be "Proposal to editing the old rule 4 on twitter links from nitter.com to xcancel or any other twitter mirror that does not require an account, while also striking the section referring to the firefox extension, making it
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also xcancel.com (or another alternative instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ . or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
End proposal"
Proposals that meet the minimum required votes will be brought to the floor in a private chamber for deliberation by the mod team and proposals will be discussed, edited should minor adjustments be needed, and finally voted upon to accept it as a part of the final draft or to table it from discussion. (by the way we called the chatroom we're gonna be chattering about all your ideas "The Central Committee of the news mega" You can either be jealous or mirthful of the level of Larping we're doing for this event)
After a set amount of time for accepting new proposals, discussing, and voting upon them, we'll do another one of these pinned comments presenting each accepted proposed rule for a simple thumbs up-thumbs down vote. After a set period of voting, we'll confirm the results and edit the Comm rules to reflect the new changes. (The voting system will look like Comment with proposal and two reply comments with a silly emoji and text saying "Yea" and "Nay")
Alright my little war piggies, its time to run wild!
High level intel sources tell @gsdebinski and Tyler Huffman:
TWO Hezbollah members found out about Israel's hack, one was "neutralized"
Decision to detonate pagers early took place before 2nd alerted superiors
I don't know if this is true, but it does explain why the explosions weren't synchronized with an Israeli invasion.
Hezbollah was at their weakest in the immediate aftermath. Every day that passes will allow them to regain strength. And the element of surprise is totally gone now.
Media making sure to say that the attack was "targeting" Hezbollah.
And I read a couple of articles that fail to mention the brand of the pagers that were blown up.
I really don't know how to live without constantly feeling rage that shit like this is happening and so many people just keep on living their lives without a care in the world or at least question the narrative presented to them.
The MIT Coalition for Palestine shares a major victory: #MIT Activists end the first American-Israeli weapons manufacturer partnership at a University.
The Scientists Against Genocide Everywhere (SAGE) Movement at MIT continues šļø More at mitsage.org
lots has been going on in the world since i last posted. A ghetto uprising in Gaza sparking into a full on multi-front war of resistance. Russia's slow grind finally paying off with desperate and collapsing Ukrainian forces, this Kursk adventure seems to be facing the same fate as the last Kursk adventure, with Russia re-taking a big chunk of the salient today. Once an offensive has stalled and started moving into retreat, we can safely say it was thwarted. Multiple coups and coup attempts throughout the world, the only ones in our favor seemingly in the Sahel.
The latest looks like Israel continues to escalate towards Lebanon. After the two waves of terror attacks in Lebanon yesterday by Mossad, now the IDF airforce is heavily bombing Southern Beirut, and Netanyahu is releasing press statements about regaining the settlements in northern occupied Palestine on the Lebanese border. Apparently the General Staff of the Zionist Entity have approved a plan for an offensive in Lebanon. Armored units, special forces & helicopters are arriving at the border. The airstrikes may be preparation and softening for the offensive.
Also, it's cute that America pretends to not know about the pager attack when they advised all of the staff in the American hospital in Beirut to swap pagers 10 days ago. Echoes of Crocus terror attack where American made ominous warnings days before about an upcoming terror attack in Russia but wouldn't provide any details.
Now we know the real reason why the West has such a hard on for Taiwan. It's not just for commercial reasons. Spy agencies have infiltrated the fucking manufacturing processes. This is going to increase the pace of governments turning away from Western tech products.
Not only is the West putting backdoors into hardware and software. They're putting EXPLOSIVES in the fucking stuff.
This is so evil ... absolutly evil , and proably planned so long ago .. . Nurses Doctors etc.. and now the second unfathanable evil is them claiming that every victim (Nurses , Doctors , Rescuers) is "hezbollah" since they had pagers that exploded..
currently there is another wave of explosions ... Radios and Walki Talkies apperently .. fucking Insane ..
This attack is going likely going to have long-term consequences for western electronics sales, especially outside the West. I wanted a Huawei phone before, but I really want one now, and I'm in the US. I have very little doubt the US signed off on this and I am surprised no one stopped to think about how this would fuck the money up. I'm sure they think they can just ban Chinese electronics and everything will be fine.
I guess there's an object lesson in here that if you are procuring equipment for a movement, you gotta inspect it. Whether it is technology, arms, food, medicine. You gotta crack them open. At least a normalized sample.
This pager thing seems to be a supply-chain attack (there would be a lot of collateral damage to other RF systems if this were simply triggered by RF interference), which raises the question, when did these devices go into circulation? This operation was likely months, if not years in the making. I doubt these devices were distributed last week.
This shit is pretty embarrassing, and the Zionists will be riding on their high horses for a while, but it doesn't significantly change the situation. "Israel's" economy is in dire straits, with no tourism, large areas made uninhabitable by the resistance, a severe deficit in agricultural laborers, tens of thousands of businesses closing for good, mounting domestic contradictions, and a brain drain and exodus more broadly.
Finally, when you combine a crisis with a disruption of communications infrastructure, it is fertile ground for intelligence gathering. I hope people are being smart about information being shared through irregular channels.
Russia derangement syndrome is getting stronger the closer we get to the election. I'm seeing daily articles about some "HUGE EXPOSURE OF RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA CHANNELS" but nothing ever actually happens to the "Russian propaganda channels" I know of.
It's almost like all that talk is just a bunch of hot air for liberals to seethe at. Liberal ragebait articles.
Another extremely evil move by Israel, but they can only really pull this trick once. Now Hezbollah is going to be thoroughly inspecting every vaguely electronic item that goes through their hands. For injuring a couple thousand random people, Israel has thoroughly burned their ability to infiltrate resistance organizations this deeply ever again. They could have injured the same number of people with conventional weapons easily, but they wanted their terrorism to be theatrical above all else.
Iāve been watching Trump talk about Israel on Hasanās stream for a bit now. Honestly, Trump is truly disgusting. The way he talks about Israel is disgusting. Itās worth noting that Trump will still be REALLY BAD for Palestine.
And I will fully admit, watching Trump talk about Israel elicits an emotional reaction in me. It was making we waver. I was starting to think maybe - MAYBE - I should go ahead and hold my nose and vote for Kamala, because she canāt be as bad as him right. Or at least losing to her will make this asshole and his supporters mad.
And then, in my mind I saw the face of Nasrallah amongst a sea of Hezbollah flags. I thought about how much Hezbollah has had to deal with from Israel. How much poking them with a stick theyāve endured. How theyāve had to see Israel act like an out of control child. It must be so hard for them to not respond out of emotion. And yet, they havenāt. They kept a cool head for nearly a year now. And because they didnāt respond reflexively, I truly believe Hezbollah will destroy the IOF and even maybe bring about the end of the entity in time. So, be like Nasrallah and donāt give in to the need for immediate satisfaction.
(No, Iām voting for Kamala and never was, just to be clear)
MBS made a new statement saying that there will be no normalization with Israel until a Palestinian state is established with East Jersusalem as it's capital. Noteworthy in that I am pretty sure the Saudis have not explicitly stated a capital in East Jerusalem as a capital being a requirement before. Whether or not they will keep there word is a different story, but a KSA-Israel deal has been one of the main Middle East foreign policy goals of the Biden admin. One has to wonder if MBS has been feeling some heat internally for his foreign policy moves.
The House passed a bill on Wednesday to label products from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank as originating from āIsrael,ā essentially recognizing Israelās annexation and ethnic cleansing of the region in what opponents of the bill say is a āhatefulā attempt to erase the very existence of Palestinians in Palestine.
The bill would make permanent an extremist Donald Trump-era policy to mislabel products from Palestine. Under the proposal, products from areas encompassing the majority of the West Bank would be labeled as a āProduct of Israelā or āMade in Israel.ā
. . .
The bill passed 231 to 189, with 16 Democrats joining Republicans in voting āyes.ā The Democrats who voted in favor represent some of the most extremist pro-Israel Democrats in the House, as well as some of the most conservative in the caucus, including Representatives Ritchie Torres (New York) and Josh Gottheimer (New Jersey).
Assuming the report about 2 Hezbollah members almost revealing the deception is true; then this can't be seen as anything other than a serious strategic defeat for Isreal and a commercial disaster for western electronics, despite it also being a tactical and propaganda victory for Israel
Apparently this was supposed to be some kind of trump card deployed in the early hours of an invasion to sow chaos and knockout communications behind the lines
Now that card is used up and every single org (even those allied with Israel) are gonna be checking their inventories for these boobie-traps, in the end the resistance security apparatus has been made stronger and Israel has lost one more tool in their arsenal and a pretty substantial one at that
the normalization of gun violence in the US is crazy. 14 year olds with AR-15s shooting up their schools. Presidential candidates dodging bullets every few weeks.
And itās all so dang normal now that they will barely last a news cycle.
Just came across some random meme channel video about "explaining the exploding pagers in lebanon meme". Fucking demons that westerners and their allies are. But a red upside down triangle is a hate symbol and makes them piss their pants. Death to the west.
Reddit really is a horrible website full of liberals lol. I was looking at some memes about the neoliberal mayoral candidate in Brazil who hit a far-right guy over the head with a chair and then threw the chair at him live on TV during a debate, because the guy accused him of being aremoved and made fun of the fact that a member of his family had died. Then the far-right guy left crying in an ambulance because he thought he broken his rib and today he had a meltdown because someone brought the same kind of chair near him during a march he was doing.
Anyway, on reddit, someone made a post on some English-speaking subreddit and the comments were flooded with liberals saying: āI hate violence! That's not democracy! When he attacked the far-right guy, he became just like the far-right guy!ā and some Brazilian gusanos insisting that the guy isn't far-right, even though the guy openly said he likes Bolsonaro and Trump, he said he wants to be the new Bolsonaro or some shit, honestly, this guy has a strange accent. And, of course, most of these Brazilians come from the south of Brazil, from mostly pro-Bolsonaro places (the same state that was destroyed because the Liberal and Conservative parties there stole the money that was supposed to be set aside for natural disasters and had to beg Lula for help).
The Taiwanese pager company said that they're just giving their brand to the product but the pagers are actually manufactured by a hungarian company. The hungarian company said they didn't make the pagers, they're just an in-between, but refuse to say where the pagers were made.
all the business press going "there is no alternative to IMF austerity" on Sri Lanka.
smaller countries like Sri Lanka always gets fucked over more under capitalism. not saying other global south countries are less vulnerable but with smaller countries IMF can force even a well meaning pro-worker Government into doing what they want. no coups or assassinations required.
India really is the best candidate for the next socialist state imo, large population, one of the larger countries, enough resources, relatively industrialized and the Indian Rupee is more widely used internationally.
incoming doomer opinion: the Battle of Huįŗæ proves that South Vietnam and the US are still absolutely in this fight and we'll probably see this war wrapped up soon as the Tet Offensive is failing
Brazilian lawyer hired as X's legal representative quits position. Vanessa Souza, a lawyer currently based in England, was hired in the middle of this month as X's legal representative in Brazil, but the deal between her and Musk fell through even before the announcement.
Given the scale of what took place and the response from the West not just to dismiss it but to justify and even celebrate it; given that this act of terrorism occurred exactly a week from 9/11, I think it's time to finally talk about 9/11 and though, yes, while inserting the two decade boilerplate about condemning terrorism and recognizing the innocent lives lost, to assess what it really meant.
Who āwonā after 9/11?
It has been said endlessly in the two decades since 9/11 that the attacks that day permanently ended the unipolar euphoria of the US Cold War victory: it derailed the consolidation of US unipolarity by diverting it into two decade-long West Asian entanglements. Especially nowadays with the US unipolar status in complete disarray, you frequently see US policy makers and the Washington think tank blob cry crocodile tears about what a "gift" 9/11 was to China. This is not necessarily untrue, Bush had been priming for a confrontation with China even as he allowed its entry into the WTO. Then 9/11 happened and it wasn't until Obama, exactly ten years later, that finally formalized the policy shift of the "Pivot to Asia,ā which due the innumerable contradictions of US hegemony forcing it to react to Europe and (once again) West Asia, is still a āwork in progressā in the present day.
The US fixation with its West Asian conflicts did allow China a breathing space for much of an additional decade until Trump finally took the US jumping with both feet into the New Cold War. Though there was always the Washington think tank cope as the US got bogged down that the puppet Afghanistan project was actually a 5D chess move that would allow a US presence right on the doorstep of Western China and meant the two decade occupation would allow the US to have its cake and eat it too, the total rout of the US with its 2021 Saigon moment nullified even that.
There used to be rather infamous op-eds from NYT and what-not, once the 9/11 self-censorship taboo faded a little, asking rhetorically if "Bin Laden won?" From the perspective of US unipolar hegemony, it does look like the attack did an incalculable damage not through the event itself but the US outsized reaction to it. However, is US hegemony really what matters most to the US political ruling class, "Ć¼ber alles?"
The specific attacks of 9/11 didnāt attack the elementary schools, they didnāt attack LGBT clubs, they didnāt attack parades; Americans would target those places themselves. They attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. If the other plane didnāt crash land in Pennsylvania, the consensus based on its DC bound flight path after two decades is still that It would have likely been flown into the White House or the US Capitol building. As such the targets were principally the financial elite, the military elite and the political elite.
There was supposed to have been a precedent set with Pearl Harbor that the United States was never to be attacked, or in Rooseveltās own words in his āDay of Infamyā speech: āwill make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.ā The consequence for Pearl Harbor was the two nuclear bombs and the permanent semi-occupation and vassalage of the perpetrating Japan to the present day.
Pearl Harbor: the previous attack on āAmericaā
As Daniel Immerwehr wrote in āHow to Hide an Empire,ā in the eyes of the US political elite like Roosevelt, an attack on Hawaii, nearly 5000 miles from Washington DC, was more of an opportunity than a threat to themselves. Not only that, in the just recently forcibly annexed settler-colonial holding of Hawaii (still not a state) far from the continental US, there was a chance that the average American also would fail to see it as a threat. As such, Rooseveltās draft edits allude to an anxiety that the American people wouldnāt get it at all:
[ā¦] when it came to Hawaiāi, Roosevelt felt a need to massage the point. Though the territory had a substantial white population, nearly three quarters of its inhabitants were Asians or Pacific Islanders. Roosevelt clearly worried that his audience might regard Hawaiāi as foreign. So on the morning of his speech, he made another edit. He changed it so that the Japanese squadrons had bombed not the āisland of Oahu,ā but the āAmerican island of Oahu.ā Damage there, Roosevelt continued, had been done to āAmerican naval and military forces,ā and āvery many American livesā had been lost. An American island, where American lives were lostāthat was the point he was trying to make.
Roosevelt insisted: āHostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.ā Yet taken from the eyes of the American ruling class, Pearl Harbor, in comparison to 9/11, is respectively akin to someone setting your front lawn (which you just expanded in size by forcibly seizing from a neighbor) on fire compared to literally coming for your jugular with a knife. You can see someone setting your lawn on fire as the greatest possible threat to you only if you can never even conceive the possibility of someone being able to take a blade to your throat. The greatest threat to the ruling class was supposed to be just to their way of life, not to their very lives themselves.
The Unthinkable becomes Thinkable and the Impossible is actually Done
9/11 not only negated the historical meme that Americans propagandized themselves with that āthey were geographically giftedā on their stolen continent and āuntouchable,ā buried under lines of defence from enemies with territorial meat-shields like Hawaii, Guam, Japan, Britain, Western Europe and West Berlin that would-be adversaries would be forced to chew through first like layers on an onion; it also struck at not principally the working class masses but the literal elite themselves. Generations of American imperialism was supposed to have created an utterly vast breathing space and this ālebenstraumā was meant to make the continental US on which the US ruling class inhabit untouchable.
Even in the scenario of "World War 3," so long as it remains conventional, in the geo-strategic calculus of the US ruling class, those immense territorial meat shields that it set up (for China: the first island chain, then the second, then the third; for Russia: the former USSR territories like Ukraine, then the former Warsaw Pact NATO, then Western Europe) mean that it would take a "World War 4" for a conflict to conceivably reach the continental US, let alone threaten the elite themselves who could scurry into their bunkers in Cheyenne mountain if things get too hot.
9/11 cut past all of this calculus like a hot knife through butter and brought the truly utterly unthinkable to realization, not only was the US squatter state on occupied Turtle Island subject to attack but the ruling class themselves were the ones specifically targeted. Itās like the hierarchy of needs where you never realized, through your privileged material conditions, there was an even lower base on the pyramid of your needs that you had been always standing on and which could be pulled out from under you.
This is the reason for the overwhelming and psychopathic US military response and the two decade commitment to devastate West Asia. The lesson needed to be taught that that what was make thinkable and possible must be made unthinkable and impossible again. Of course, there is no putting the genie back in the bottle, but though the emperor was revealed to have no clothes, the world needed to be made to pretend he was still fully clothed - at gunpoint.
Through this, it didnāt really matter whether Iraq and Afghanistan could be built into stable client regimes to service US hegemonic interests, but that as much devastation as possible should be done so that every time someone glances at the misery of contemporary Iraq and Afghanistan, they would link it to the US and think that āthis all happened because 9/11 attacked the US.ā By such aims, the bigger the bloodbath, the better. Through this, the US ruling class really did achieve their goals, despite the ultimate failure of both invasions and occupations.
The Contradiction of Life and Way of Life
Does all this mean that the much bemoaned āwasted decadeā for the US is actually a rare species of camouflaged victory if you look further into it? No, that would stretch the provided thesis too far. What the US reaction to 9/11 shows that there is a contradiction between the interests of US hegemony, which benefits all Americans through the dividends of its financial imperialism and the interests of the US ruling class, which benefit only itself and its preservation, which 9/11 was experienced as a startling reminder to them.
That there exists a distinction between the two, though in normal times both are aligned and in near perfect sync, is what 9/11 exploited and the US response has shown to exist more clearly than in any other moment in American history. The outsized retaliation by the ruling class to reassert their āuntouchabilityā through the ācounterterrorism decadeā was actually a net negative for both normal Americans and for the system of US hegemony, but the ruling class did not care because 9/11 was what shown them that - when forced to choose - their individual life were more important than their way of life.
To put it in analogy, this is akin to a business owner unhesitatingly sacrificing the profitability of their own business, making it far less competitive to rivals, by a fire sale of assets and diverting earnings to pay for their own emergency surgical procedure. At that point, to that individual, there are bigger things at stake when made to realize they are forced to choose, even though what normally matters is their business and it suffers through this opportunity cost. Becoming cognizant of this contradiction is the most revealing lesson of the US response to 9/11.
Some positive news in this sea of torment, death and terrorism:
The DPRK's Women's U-20 National Football Team won 1-0 over the genocidal entity, the "United States", and have reached the final of the 2024 Women's U-20 World Cup, ready to face Japan.
The DPRK has a pretty impressive Women's U-20 record, they won the 2006 final against China in Russia, reached the final and lost to the "United States" in 2008 in Chile, won the final against France in 2016 in Papua New Guinea and now have reached their fourth final in Colombia.
They won their three group stage matches (6-2 vs Argentina, 9-0 vs Costa Rica and 2-0 vs Netherlands), in the Round of 16 they beat Austria 5-2, in the Quarter Finals they beat Brasil 1-0 and now they've beaten the "US" 1-0 in the Semi-Finals.

Were the pagers only being carried by the armed wing of Hezbollah, or am I correct in assuming that a lot of political/social wing members were also carrying them?
So Israel successfully pulls off their Bond villain-ass plot, and they aren't immediately invading in the chaos it caused? What's the goal there? If it's just to kill people, sending planes to bomb would work and not give away the secret plan. Maybe I'm overestimating their intelligence, but if I had sabotaged a country I wanted to invade, I'd wait until I was about to invade to activate it.
Doctor Ziad Mohammed Al-Dalou, the Deputy Director of the Internal Medicine Department at Al-Shifa Hospital, ascended to martyrdom in detention three days after his abduction by zionist forces on March 21st, 2024.

The National News Agency reports an unmanned aerial vehicle fired two missiles at the border town of Dahra.
Earlier, the Israeli military said dozens of warplanes are attacking Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon as cross-border exchanges intensify and fears grow of all-out war between the decades-old enemies.
1 hour ago:
The situation is getting much more intense, especially in the southern part of Gaza where confrontations between Hamas fighters and Israeli forces in Rafah city are still raging. The combat is particularly heavy in the eastern and central areas of Rafah.
This is despite the Israeli armyās claim that it managed to ādismantleā Hamasās Rafah Brigades in the city last week.
Also, one of the main medical warehouses has been hit in Rafah without any sort of warning, causing a great deal of destruction. There was no word on casualties.
I'm guessing that medical warehouse might have been that massive explosion seen here?
Mark Robinson, the controversial and socially conservative Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina,āÆmade a series of inflammatory comments on a pornography websiteās message board more than a decade ago, in which he referred to himself as a āblack NAZI!ā and expressed support for reinstating slavery, a CNN KFile investigation found.
Despite a recent history of anti-transgender rhetoric, Robinson said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography, a review of archivedāÆmessages found in which he also referred to himself as a āperv.ā

Robinson listed his full name on his profile for Nude Africa, as well as an email address he used on numerous websites across the internet for decades.
Newest from Hungary: According to NYT's anoonimus sources the hungarian company was founded by Israel precisely so they can put explosives into Hezbollah's (and by this they mean whomever is around the pagers at the time of explosion) pockets.
Newest from Palestine: Hezbollah doesn't stop and according to zionazi media already yeeted a soldier with a guided missile.
Before this week, I had assumed that Israel was attempting to get Hezbollah to attack them in order to give Israel just enough casus belli to pull the US into it.
While that may be part of it, the terrorist attacks this week (including the destroyed apartment building just now) have made me think itās all just Israel trying to get Hezbollah to invade Israel so Israel doesnāt have to invade Lebanon. Israel is just going to keep ratcheting up the horror until Hezbollah decides they have to do something (which they wonāt, Hezbollahās only offensive capabilities are with missiles).
I donāt think we should assume that just because the entityās military leadership are fascists that they are also completely irrational. If a bunch of commies on this poxy website can see how obvious it is that Israel will get rolled if they invade Lebanon, it has to be even more obvious to someone like Gallant who is evil but also seems like a realist.
So right now we have a situation where Hezbollah cannot invade Israel, and Israel cannot invade Lebanon. Each wants the other to invade, but they both know itās a death sentence for either of them to attempt it. So what I think weāre seeing is a game of provoking the other to invade, and Israel probably thinks they are in the better position because they have more latitude to do evil shit.
(All of this is probably obvious to most, just summarizing it all here).
Something bad or violent happened in America? Well, it was definitely caused by some poorly defined "mental illness" and it couldn't possibly be an expected outcome of four hundred years of bloodshed, oppression, poverty, and unspeakable cruelty.
Definitely just those crazy people. We should probably make them illegal.
Hezbollah announces targeting the Rafael military-industrial complex, which specializes in electronic equipment and is located in the Zvulun Valley north of occupied Haifa. The complex was hit with dozens of "Fadi 1," "Fadi 2," and "Katyusha" rockets in an initial response to the brutal massacre committed by the Israeli enemy in various Lebanese regions on Tuesday and Wednesday (the massacre involving pagers and walkie-talkie devices).

It is revealed that the nazi soldiers kept these stacks of "souvenir" photos along with pictures of their wives and children.
I am reminded of this film after seeing another video of iof soldiers celebrating their destruction of Gaza.
So, latest update about the Norwegian owner of the company linked to the terror attack in Lebanon...
He was on a business trip to the U.S. when the attacks happened. VG, a Norwegian news outlet, writes that he got on a plane to Boston on Tuesday, but never attended the conference he was scheduled for:
The man was to attend a conference in Boston on behalf of his Norwegian employer, according to VG's information.
VG has seen documentation that the Norwegian arrived in the USA on Tuesday.
Nevertheless, he never took out his name tag or registered at the conference, the organizer told VG.
He's (probably?) still in the U.S., but no one has heard from him since Wednesday š

Randy Fine, the Republican state representative for Florida, is facing a wave of anger and accusations of Islamophobia after celebrating the death of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old Turkish-American activist who was fatally shot by the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank.
"Throw rocks, get shot. One less #MuslimTerrorist. #FireAway," Fine wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, in response to a post announcing Eygi's killing last weekend.
This is a Florida State Representative and a white one attacking Palestinians at that, so I expect nothing to happen to him.
I looked up the EU "terror list" just for fun. I knew it was a list of scary Muslims but I would have imagined that they would have put a few token white guys in there.
But no, out of 21 designated "terrorist" organisatios, 17 are from the Muslim world. All 21 are from the global south. Was it really that hard to find some small group of politically insignificant Nazis and add them to keep up appearances?
Amos Hochstein , US President Joe Bidenās envoy, was in Israel on Monday ā a day before the first wave of communications devices exploded in Lebanon.
According to Israeli media reports, Hochstein warned Israeli leaders against an escalation on the Lebanese front.
But Netanyahuās office said that the prime minister told the US envoy that Israel āwill do what is necessaryā for its security.
Washington says averting a regional conflict is its top priority in the Middle East.
But critics say Israelās apparent defiance against the Biden administrationās goals underscores Washingtonās unwillingness to meaningfully pressure Netanyahu to avert an all-out war.
The new failed Trump assassin is obviously another freak as usual, but I low-key respect him for his unwavering dedication for his dumbass causes. We need this energy on the left. This guy was spamming Zelensky on twitter for any chance to help, he actually went to fucking Ukraine in some dumbass belief that he could somehow help out, he hated Trump so much that he was actually ready to kill him. It's hard to not respect a true ideologue in these days, when most libs fold at any true pressure. Good for him honestly, he truly did his best along the whole journey and almost died like a true martyr and could've gone to liberal heaven. The guy who tried this in July was just a massive loser, this new guy has some very respectable dedication all the way. It's a shame that he's not a leftist.

Initial statement issued by Hezbullah:
"At approximately 3:30 pm on Tuesday 09-17-2024, a number of message receiving devices known as āpagersā exploded, which were owned by a number of workers in various Hezbullah units and institutions.
These explosions, the causes of which are still unknown, led to the martyrdom of a child and two brothers, and the injury of a large number of people with various injuries.
Hezbullah's competent agencies are currently conducting a wide-ranging security and scientific investigation to determine the causes that led to these simultaneous explosions.
Likewise, medical and health agencies are treating the wounded and injured in a number of hospitals in various Lebanese regions.
We ask God Almighty to have mercy on our righteous martyrs on the road to Jerusalem, and we pray for the wounded and injured to recover quickly.
We call on our honorable people to be aware of the rumors and false and misleading information that some parties are spreading in a way that serves the psychological war in the interest of the Zionist enemy, especially since this is accompanied by the Zionist enemyās speeches of intimidation and threats and what it calls changing the situation in the north.
We affirm that the resistance, at all its levels and various units, is at the highest level of readiness to defend Lebanon and its steadfast people."
Isisrael destroyed Motorola Solutions didn't they? They injured a bunch of Lebanese people and even killed a few but really who is going to buy a Motorola pager ever again? What police officer is going to wear a Motorola radio when it could be hacked and blow up? What sane person is going to buy from a company that intentionally or unintentionally allowed for their devices to be turned into bombs used in a terrorist attack?
If Motorola Solutions is as cooked as it looks how does the usa respond? This is a direct attack on american Capital. A $74 billion dollar company is going to get wrecked because ISISrael cant see past their bloodlust.
Let's be honest, Iran has no other option than to make nukes. They are already treated like shit, isfake has shown such bloodlust that shows this is the only way. Even if the zionist entity dissolves in most peaceful way, there will be threat of nuclear attack to them at last minute. It sounds like Israel believes Hezbollah will finally retaliate tonight with a massive rocket attack. It's 21:00 in Lebanon, so the night is young.
Israel claims to have destroyed many Hezbollah launchers, which... honestly I don't really doubt at this point. Hopefully they have plenty of decoys and hidden launchers.
Inshallah, we will see the Zionazis pooping their diapers tonight
When you see someone on the internet saying that they are not fans of dying in a nuclear holocaust and that they would love their rulers not to escalate things to that point, those are not real people. It is fake Russian comments, disinformatskaya intended to scare you into not supporting total war against Putin's Asiatic hordes.
We already know that real westerners love getting nuked and that they would never support peace. But now the FBI and a bunch of Euro mainstream media says they have the receipts to prove it.
Secret Psychological Warfare Plan Revealed: Russia Aims to Strike the West with a āNuclear Psychosisā
Internal Russian documents show how scare campaigns are designed to make Europeans fear a new world war.

The propaganda company Social Design Agency in Moscow created a video on āinformation attacksā against the West, planned in close cooperation with the Kremlin.
In meeting after meeting, people from President Vladimir Putinās inner circle have spent months planning how Russia can instill fear in Europe and the rest of the West.
This is done in close collaboration with a propaganda company in Moscow that spreads streams of disinformation, fake stories, and millions of pro-Russian comments on social media platforms like Facebook and Telegram.
The goal is to make Europeans fear nuclear war, hoping they will pressure their governments to stop supporting Ukraine.
This is revealed in internal documents, videos, and other materials from the Russian company Social Design Agency.
The company has fabricated stories, including claims that Europe will face power outages and a shortage of fever-reducing medicine, which will result in āa surge in child mortality,ā according to a draft of an influence campaign.
Social Design Agency has also crafted numerous fake social media posts where imaginary Europeans express fear of nuclear war:
āI donāt want my country to enter an open confrontation with Russia. Isnāt it clear that our actions could lead to World War III? Russia is not our enemy,ā reads one of the messages the company aims to spread through fake profiles.
Another document outlines how Social Design Agency plans to influence public opinion polls so that at least 50% of people in European countries feel āfear for the future.ā
āIf the Kremlin is unhappy with conditions in the international system, this is one of the channels they can try to influence. And the message in these campaigns is effective because we all fear nuclear war,ā says senior researcher Flemming Splidsboel from the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), who studies information operations and has reviewed several of the documents for DR.
FACTS: The Basis of This Story
The German newspaper SĆ¼ddeutsche Zeitung, public service stations NDR and WDR, and the Estonian media outlet Delfi have accessed material from Social Design Agency and shared it with DR and other media.
The material includes thousands of internal files from 2022, 2023, and 2024, such as employee lists, emails, campaign concepts, reports, meeting notes, texts for fake articles and social media posts, comments, memes, and cartoons, documentation for publications, and cost summaries.
Together with newly released documents from the FBI about Social Design Agency, the material offers a deep insight into Kremlin propaganda strategies.
Documents Provide Deep Insight into Russian Operations
Page after page, the internal documents reveal how Social Design Agency operates.
On the one hand, the company meticulously monitors Western media and opinion-makers, producing daily reports on the news landscape.
Additionally, Social Design Agency analyzes the target audiences for Russian propagandaāmainly European citizensāto determine how they can be emotionally manipulated, according to one document.
Afterward, the company develops the actual content for the campaigns, which is then distributed through replicas of real news sites and on social media using artificial intelligence.
āBy thoroughly preparing our information attacks and having a clear understanding of the project's goals, we firmly believe we will succeed,ā states a message in a video from the internal material of Social Design Agency.
You can watch the video at the top of the article, where the founder of Social Design Agency explains the companyās work.
The documents paint a picture of a company that produces vast amounts of disinformation to promote Russiaās cause.
In one report, Social Design Agency claims to have posted 33.9 million fake comments on social media in the first quarter of 2024 alone.
The company also claims that in the same period, it produced 39,899 original posts, including videos and memes or cartoons.
Many of the companyās comments and texts have limited reach. However, international media outlets that accessed the companyās material have found several instances of real people sharing content from Social Design Agency.
Senior researcher Flemming Splidsboel views the campaigns as an attempt to pressure Western governments to force Ukraine to submit to Russian demands:
āThe goal could clearly be to initiate negotiations so that Russia can secure the areas in Ukraine they have already conquered and annexed,ā he says.
Media Partners in the Investigation
SĆ¼ddeutsche Zeitung, NDR and WDR in Germany, Delfi in Estonia, DR, Dossier Center, Schemes in Ukraine, De Standaard and Profil in Austria, NRC in the Netherlands, RFE/RL in the Czech Republic, Shomrim, VSquare, and Frontstory in Poland.
Multiple Meetings with Putinās People
This is far from the first time Russia has been linked to influence operations targeting Western voters.
Recently, the FBI released documents specifically addressing Social Design Agencyās role in these efforts.
The FBI documents describe at least 20 meetings between Russiaās presidential administration and the Moscow-based company in recent years.
DR also has access to summaries from these meetings, which, according to the FBI, were written by Social Design Agencyās founder, Ilya Gambashidze.
These include notes from a meeting on March 12 of this year, where Ilya Gambashidze summarizes the thinking behind influence operations against Western countries:
āWe need to scare them,ā he writes in the meeting notes.
According to the FBI, former Russian Prime Minister Sergey Kiriyenko coordinates Social Design Agencyās influence operations on behalf of the presidential administration.
This is confirmed by a European intelligence source to SĆ¼ddeutsche Zeitung, with whom DR collaborated on the story.
Sergey Kiriyenko is now the First Deputy Chief of Staff for the Presidential Office and is often described as President Vladimir Putinās right-hand man.
According to the FBI, Kiriyenko participated in a meeting with Social Design Agency on April 16, 2022, where he discussed various topics to be spread as propaganda.
At this meeting, Sergey Kiriyenko reportedly summarized the goal of creating āa nuclear psychosisā in the West.
Involvement of such a high-profile figure underscores, according to Flemming Splidsboel, that Social Design Agencyās operations are deeply connected to the core of the presidential administration.
āAll in all, this suggests a large Russian campaign that comes from the top and is clearly a high priority,ā says Flemming Splidsboel.
Neither the Russian presidential administration, Social Design Agency, nor Ilya Gambashidze responded to questions from DR and the other media partners involved in the investigation.

Antony Lowenstein - Palestine Laboratory which gives some insight on how the surveillance technology but also military hardware are tested on Palestine to be sold into the world. I think we can see Israel conflicts with its neighbouring countries as a giant tradeshow to sell the tech to potential buyers.
I also find it insightful some interviews by Electronic Intifada done with Shir Hever:
He is the author of the article done on Mondoweiss regarding the prolonged war can inflict a blow in Israeli economy. What I find relevant is the case he mentioned on France's Carrefour expansion into Israel. Carrefour wanted to expand into the country, but there are concerns regarding the ethical practice of some of the expansion, the company didn't want to expand inside Palestinian settlement (not for any moral arguments, but there are fear that it can be complicit in Israeli colonization and occupation). However, the Israeli court rules out that Carrefour can't decide where they can or can't open a store which to according to Shir implies that there are some political exceptionalism Israel can exercise on people who wants to do business in the country, which can lead to people thinking twice in investing into a country that doesn't allow you to have a legal even playground.
TLDR, the states exceptionalism is not good for the civilian sector of global capitalism to operate in, expecially if corporation know the trajectory of the next generation wouldn't have a positive opinion regarding the Israeli state.
In the second interview, Shir mentioned that Israel's main export is really in its military and surveillance sectorw, he does say that October 7th does make potential buyers question its military hardware performances, but I think today's cellphone's attack does give some Israel a good demonstration on some of its potential in terms of surveillance and population control.
I think it's important to not neglect today's attack in its context especially regarding the current state of the world which climate change causing social instability can push some states appetite to consider buying Israeli savoir faire in order to control its population more efficiently (border control, policing tech, surveillance, etc.).
It seems that Haiti has once again turned into a dictatorship. The pro-US Haitian elite has dissolved the presidential role and created a Presidential Transitional Council that controls the entire country, at least the parts it controls that are not under the control of the Haitian right-wing militias. The postponed the elections to 2026, which were originally supposed to be held in 2019.
Well so much for my "you only get to do this trick once" bit yesterday. So we've got to be looking at the prelude to invasion, right? Two attacks in two days? This one with larger explosions but a smaller number of targets (way less folks seem to have walkie talkies than pagers)? I just don't understand the calculus otherwise. What a shitshow, godspeed to the people of Lebanon.
Iām repurposing a comment I left on a post about Palantirās involvement in the pager attacks (posted to c chapotraphouse).
Palantir CEO Alex Karp appeared as the main interview on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday. He is an enthusiastic believer in the moral authority and superiority of the US.
He says the future of modern warfare will be peer to peer and drone to drone. āYouāre going to be using software to control small instruments and thereās going to be hundreds of thousands of them.ā He mentions fighting China and Russia specifically.
I donāt know if this is news but interesting to hear him say a lot of evil shit out-loud on a pretty mainstream platform. Also I watched it after the pager attack happened so it took on extra significance.
The Crown Prince stated that Ā«the Kingdom will not stop its tireless work towards the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capitalĀ».
Saudi Arabian heir to the throne, Muhammad bin Salman, strongly condemned on Wednesday the war crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and said his country would not recognize Israel without a Palestinian state.
During a speech to the members of the Shura Consultative Council, which he delivered on behalf of King Salman, the Crown Prince stated that Ā«the Kingdom will not stop its tireless work towards the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capitalĀ».
He then stated that without this status his country Ā«will not establish diplomatic relations with IsraelĀ».
He rejected Ā«the crimes of the Israeli occupation authority against the Palestinian people, ignoring international humanitarian law in a new and painful chapter of their sufferingĀ».
Saudi Crown Prince and PM Mohammed bin Salman stated that normalization of relations with Israel is impossible without an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital
He also emphasized the commitment of the Saudi authorities to a good-neighbourly policy, which is why he aims to improve regional and international security through diplomatic solutions to crises in countries such as Yemen, Sudan, Libya and others.
On behalf of the Palestinian people and their leaders, the President of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, welcomed bin Salmanās speech and the firm positions of Saudi Arabia at all levels in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
He also highlighted the efforts made by Riyadh to stop the ongoing aggression against Gaza and the West Bank, their lands and holy places, and to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
The Israeli foreign ministry said that its first legal brief outlined the ICCās āmanifest lack of jurisdictionā in the case. The second paper, it said, argues that the ICC prosecutor breached court rules by āfailing to provide Israel with the opportunity to exercise its right to investigate by itself the claims raised by the prosecutor, before proceeding.ā
Is this something they have a right to? Like a mass murderer being arrested and saying "you can't do that, you didn't allow me to investigate myself to see if I murdered all those people!" After they were filmed shooting a crowd.
Iranian media constantly assuring that its ambassador in Lebanon is just slightly injured, now they say he had a "little" eye surgery and he is good and all.
Meanwhile a low ranking conservative official raised questions about Raisi's helicopter crash and whether Israel did the same thing to the electronics aboard the helicopter that it did to Pagers in Lebanon.
I purpose adding more Hijab Police to streets because thats apparently more important than the national security š.
President Lula da Silva was talking about the UN Security Council when his microphone was cut off; he continued speaking nonetheless.
Article (Translated)
President Luiz InƔcio Lula da Silva had his microphone cut off at the end of his speech at the opening of the Summit of the Future, held in New York, United States. The event is a preparation for the general debate at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, which will take place next Tuesday (24).
Convened by UN Secretary General AntĆ³nio Guterres, the Future Summit aims to discuss the future of humanity, addressing crucial issues such as climate change and the fight against poverty.
In one of the most striking moments of his speech, Lula strongly criticized the institutions of global governance, including the UN itself. He had just questioned the General Assembly and claimed that the UN Security Council has been losing legitimacy when his microphone was cut off.
āMost bodies lack the authority and means of implementation to enforce their decisions. The General Assembly has lost its vitality and the Economic and Social Council has been emptied. The legitimacy of the Security Council shrinks every time it applies double standards or omits itself in the face of atrocities,ā the president had fired.
Soon after, the master of ceremonies thanked Lula for his speech, at which point the microphone was cut off. The president, however, continued speaking, even without the amplified audio.
āThe Global South is not represented in a manner consistent with its current political, economic and demographic weight. The UN Charter makes no reference to promoting sustainable development. We need the courage and political will to change, creating the tomorrow we want today. The best legacy we can leave future generations is governance capable of responding effectively to the challenges that persist and those that will arise. Thank you very much,ā Lula concluded.
The event organizers cut off Lula's microphone in order to follow protocol, which provides for a speech lasting a maximum of 5 minutes for each speaker. At that point, the Brazilian president was about to exceed this limit. Before the Brazilian president, the representatives of Sierra Leone and Yemen also had their microphones cut.
In honor of todayās doomer discourse, I present you all with this absolute gem of a comment from comrade @DiscoPosting@hexbear.net in one of the news megas in the days after Oct 7.
A subcommittee in the Copenhagen city government has passed a proposal to name a strip of land "Palestine Square". The new square, that was unnamed until now, is situated in the city's NĆørrebro neighborhood and houses a skate park and several cafes.
The proposal was due to be voted on last October but was withdrawn because of the Al-Aqsa Flood. A conservative councillor voted against, calling the proposal "a terrible cause" so the proposal will be put up for a vote in the city council. It is likely to pass as the four left to centre parties who made the proposal controls a majority.
Copenhagen has had a, much larger "Israel" Square since 1968.
Al Jazeera is reporting from outside Israel because it has been banned by the Israeli government.
There has been an escalation clearly over the last week, and many in Israel are worried.
They are concerned that if an all-out war erupts with Hezbollah, it will drag other actors in from the region ā from the entirety of the Middle East ā and it will not lead whatsoever to a [Gaza] ceasefire deal that would see the release of the remaining 100 captives still held in Gaza.
In fact, family members of Israeli captives spoke to American media this morning, saying that they do not want a war.
Because they know if another war is opened, if Israel does involve itself with a full-scale war with Hezbollah on that border, the chances for a ceasefire deal will be zero.
So like, not that the IDF wouldn't intentionally maim bystanders, but this has got to be bullshit right? From what I understand the explosives were embedded into the material of the batteries which is what made them so hard to detect. A 10 year old pager doesn't, I assume, normally have electronics that would allow it to know "whether others were in close proximity", so adding this in would totally fuck with the whole covert Trojan horse idea, simply disassembling the thing would reveal the extra electronics. Also we know at least one of them exploded inside the box it came in
The New York Times finally identifies the real victims of the anti-immigrant pogroms:
Many advertisers have tried for years to avoid sharing space with content about polarizing politics, pandemics, hate speech or misinformation, for fear of damaging customer perception and risking public censure. That ads appeared anyway on YouTube ahead of falsehoods about Haitian migrants underscores the difficulty advertisers face in maintaining brand safety in an especially volatile election year.
. . .
Having an advertisement land next to misinformation can be financially damaging ā the share of people who click on such ads is 46 percent lower than for ads that avoid being twinned with toxic content, according to Integral Ad Science, a company focusing on brand safety.
People shouldn't be to surprised by the sadism and violence of the zionist entity. They represent what the western imperialism always stood for. They just don't bother to hide it now because of fanatism and it's the last western colonial project in the world that the west will be able to implement if they fail in Palestine.
The depraved behavior of their soldiers is typical of colonial imperialism as well.
Israelās Gallant: āWe are at the start of a new phase in the warā
Israelās defence minister declared the start of a ānew phaseā of the war on Gaza as Israel turns its focus toward the northern front against Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.
Yoav Gallant made no mention of the mysterious explosions of electronic devices in Lebanon. But he praised the work of Israelās army and security agencies, saying āthe results are very impressiveā.
After months of war in Gaza, āthe centre of gravity is shifting to the north by diverting resources and forcesā, said Gallant. āWe are at the start of a new phase in the war ā it requires courage, determination and perseverance.ā
So it was never about just Gaza or Hamas. It was always about Greater Pissrael
Pissriel was born of terrorism and Nazi ideology and still is today and wilk be forever. The US, EU, and it's lapdogs are all complicit and it's leaderships are Nazi terrorists run amock on the world. Einstien was right.
Now, outside of Gaza, the cries of children and the echoes of shattered lives linger in "Israeli" soldier Moshe Avichzerās mind. Blood splatters, refusing to fade, stain his occupational army uniform, and the dust of leveled neighborhoods clings to his skin.
The mission is complete: Gaza is left in ruins, its people without water, electricity, or hope. Now, the need to decompress calls for a new task.
But where does an "Israeli" soldier like Avichzer unwind after committing such atrocities? The answer is Morocco ā Marrakesh, to be exact.
Speculation on Yemeni and Iranian ballistic missile technology with regards to the new Palestine-2 missile, used in yesterday's strike on Israel
After looking at the footage released of the missile used by Ansar Allah/The Houthis to strike Israel yesterday, I have come to an unlikely conclusion: They and Iran have collaborated to create an extended range version of the two stage Iranian Fattah-1 hypersonic ballistic missile and re-entry vehicle, in combination with parts from the Iranian Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile and re-entry vehicle. A far fetched conclusion that I didn't believe at first given how new the Fattah-1 missile is and given statements from Iran, but one I view to be the most likely based on the size and shape of the missile, and statements from both sides.
with a range of up to 2,150 km, operates on two-stage solid fuel, incorporates stealth technology, and can reach speeds of up to Mach 16. This makes it capable of evading the most advanced air defense systems, including the Iron Dome.
The missile has a high maneuverability, enhancing its effectiveness in penetrating enemy air defenses.
This rules out all liquid fueled rockets. It also mandates a two stage design, along with a maneuverable warhead and depressed trajectory for stealth. The only place for a seperate stage, given that there are no visible separations or jettison points in the booster stage itself, is the warhead itself.
Experts in Western Media have claimed that the Palestine-2 is a variant of the Kheibar Shekan missile, a statement which is half right. The initial booster stage, along with the rear and front fins are likely from the Kheibar Shekan series of missiles.
However, the warhead of the Kheibar Shekan is different from the one pictured on the Palestine-2, in function. The Kheibar Shekan warhead/re entry vehicle does not have its own rocket stage, so it is not a two stage rocket system. Once it is jettisoned from the booster rocket, it can manoeuvre on its own to avoid interception, but it has no power of its own, meaning it only impacts the target at a speed of Mach 2-3. In appearance, only the fins are the same. By contrast, the Fattah-1 warhead contains its own rocket stage, something that would be required for the Palestine-2 to be a two staged rocket system. From a visual standpoint
Palestine-2 warhead:
Comparison between Fattah-1 and Kheibar Shekan:
Fattah-1 second stage motor:
As for the range, Iran has reported in the past that they would be able to extend the range of the Fattah-1 to 2000km. Could the Palestine-2 be the end result of such efforts? I'd guess so.
As for how the Fattah-1 works, I came across this white paper PDF by the "Missile Defence Advocacy alliance that explains how it functions. In short, is the Fattah-1 a true hypersonic weapon? My answer is that it is as close as you can yet using ballistic missile technology and without using a lift generating re-entry vehicle/hypersonic glide vehicle, which the successor Fattah-2 aims to do. Ultimately agility while in the terminal phase is limited by the four fins and limited thrust vectoring on the second stage, in short it can probably dodge a bit, but it can't do a full turn. Most of the maneuvering probably takes place before the final dive to the target. However, the additional rocket stage on the re-entry vehicle/warhead allows for manoeuvres and a trajectory that would not otherwise be possible with a ballistic missile, explained here.
This could explain the stealth capabilities of the missile, and why Israel detected it so late. The depressed trajectory, as well as relatively low altitude during the "pull up phase", means that ground radars cannot detect the initial launch and would lose track of the warhead during the pull up phase due to the earth's curvature. However, there will be a large heat signature due to the second rocket stage.
some nonsense "resolution" in the UNSC got approved today to get israeli occupation out of 1967 Palestinian land, as a testament of how meaningless it is, the same resolution was made in 2016
BREAKING: Teslas begin detonating in horrifying fireballs in the latest shocking act of Israeli sabo-, Oh Nevermind, that's just normal. U.S. Navy Seal/Blackwater merc launches an international crowdfunding campaign for a coup in Venezuela, following open appeals to the U.S. government to raise the bounty on President Maduro and high-level officials.
Theyāre posting fake donation sums on the magnicide-for-hire crowdfund campaign site. They expect people to believe that individuals are making hundred thousand dollar donations. After Feb 2019, Guaidoās people spent Venezuela Aid Live money on cocaine and prostitution.
In response to online ridicule, mercenaries now claim: āWe would like to point out that the amounts indicated in the system are not necessarily in US$ but in the donor's local currency. This is why there are multiple donations with such high figures.ā
Putin promised that the next BRICS summit will include a session devoted primarily to Palestine.
The Palestinian ambassador in Moscow, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, reported on Friday that the president of the Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, will participate in the next BRICS summit, which will be held in the Russian city of Kazan, from 22 to 24 October.
Nofal highlighted the confidence of the Palestinian people in Moscow to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.
The Palestinian diplomat announced in late August that Abbas had received an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the BRICS summit.
They also condemned the constant bombing of civilian infrastructure, the killing of children, women and health personnel, as well as the lack of access to clean water, medicines and food.
Thanks to the cooperation of the BRICS, nations like Russia, China and Iran, subject to unilateral restrictive measures imposed by the West and the United States, have established strong links in trade, economy, security and other areas.
Russia took over the rotating presidency of the BRICS for 2024 on 1 January this year, a year that began with the admission of new members. According to media, Moscow has planned for this year more than 250 events in 11 regions, including the XIV BRICS Summit.
The group currently accounts for almost half of the worldās population, over 40 per cent of global crude oil production and about 25 per cent of world exports.
Listen, when it comes to Amerikkkan bullshit electoralism, you must choose the lesser evil. You have to be pragmatic! My utilitarian calculation says you should vote blue no matter who.
When it comes to nuclear brinkmanship, then doing diplomacy is literally Chamberlain 1938 and you have to make a principled stance even though the whole Earth might die in nuclear hellfire.
That's a price liberals are willing to pay. Negotiating with Putin is weak. You should never compromise, no matter how many Ukrainians are sent to the meat grinder, even if nuking the whole planet is a real possibility.

Someone mentioned Motorola as a supplier of these types of pagers, but these AR-924 models are made by this exact company.
The AR-924 pagers used by Israel in a terror attack that left thousands of casualties in Lebanon on 17 September were manufactured by BAC Consulting KFT, a shell company based in the Hungarian capital of Budapest, according to a statement released by Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese firm that authorized the use of its brand on the pagers.
āAccording to the cooperation agreement, we authorize BAC to use our brand trademark for product sales in designated regions, but the design and manufacturing of the products are solely the responsibility of BAC,ā the statement read.
Gold Apolloās chair, Hsu Ching-Kuang, told journalists Wednesday that his firm inked the licensing agreement with BAC three years ago.
āThe product was not ours. It was only that it had our brand on it,ā the Taiwanese businessman told reporters. āWe are a responsible company. This is very embarrassing.ā
No kidding, bud.
BAC Consulting is registered with Cristiana Rosaria BƔrsony-Arcidiacono, listed as its owner and sole employee on the company website.
The website, which was blocked behind a username and password on Wednesday morning, also claims she has served on the board of directors of the Earth Child Institute. However, the sustainability group does not list BƔrsony-Arcidiacono among its board members.
A faction within Boliviaās Indigenous movement has begun a siege on La Paz to call for President Luis Arceās resignation. In response, Arce has claimed that Evo Morales is a launching a coup against the government.
A faction within the āRed Ponchosā Indigenous Federation representing the rural communities of the La Paz region is leading the campaign. They have launched roadblocks to paralyze all highways connected to the city of La Paz. They are calling for Luis Arceās resignation over what they see as his failure to deal with inflation and fuel shortages.
On the eve of the mobilization, Luis Arce held a press conference alongside the countryās union leadership. He stated that these mobilizations are part of a plan by Evo Morales to launch a coup and impose himself as President.
This campaign of roadblocks is so far confined to the Department of La Paz. However, starting tomorrow, Evo Morales himself will be leading a national, seven-day-long march from the town of Caracollo to the city of La Paz. He is calling for Arceās resignation as part of the internal faction fight within the MAS party.
Simultaneously, Arce has moved the cabinet from La Paz to Santa Cruz. The government says it is to deal with the ongoing forest fires in that region better. However, some claim it is because the government is worried of being overwhelmed by the mobilization in the seat of government in La Paz.
There seem to be some protests in Israel, I suppose the liberals are angry that Bibi hasn't rescued the Israeli hostages or something. I think they're also angry that Bibi is using the support that this war and genocide have (with the Israeli public) as a smokescreen so that he won't be impeached or jailed for his corruption and other things.
I suppose there are also some small protests done by leftist, ultrareligious and other people that are anti-war and anti-IDF that are protesting the war, but I doubt these are more than 100 people and will get no media attention.
Looking the leftist alliance is going to win Sri Lankan elections. The funnier part is that the current President (who wasn't even elected by the public) is not at second but third place; he was doing exactly what the IMF wanted, maybe not good for popularity.
Edit 2: I see business news coverage on how Dissanayake has no choice but to heed to IMF else face a currency crisis. The best choice is to partially default and get help from China (maybe India too) for most important imports. The claim is that Sri Lanka only has a few months of foreign exchange left. However, the foreign exchange has been draining because of debt payments and trying to maintain a fixed exchange rate. If the pressure is too high, he can just let the Rupee float more freely. Yea, this will bring some inflation but its better than the alternative that is IMF austerity.
For all it's worth, at least the would be trump killer got fed up and decided to take matters into his own hands. He got tired of nobody killing trump so he took it upon himself. He didn't just sit on his fucking ass all day complaining how trump is a threat to NATO, Ukraine, Taiwan and Democracy (TM) on r*ddit, finally, a lib got on the move for once.
he's a terrible shot and even worse at planning assassinations anyways.
Roughly a shift of 10% from the last election with Israel starting even more shit in the middle east it might just be enough to completely kill any chance Kamala had.
This is a pretty bizarre story of Russian billionaire stuff. Ukraine is now losing ground in five different sections of the front line simultaneously. In Kursk, near Kupiansk, around Chasiv Yar, near Pokrovsk and near Vuhledar.
We can unfortunately assume this will only be a temporary victory as Kentucky is a huge red state and his election as a democrat was a fluke due to strong mobilization from labor unions against the previous governor in the 2019 election. Crossing my fingers that this might hurt the organisation of the christofascists enough to slow them down a bit but I'm not holding my breath.
A lot of rumours going around that the pager attack was indiscriminate and that it was 5000 pagers? Any confirmation of this anywhere that could be lib-friendly?
EDIT: Also if you have a phone, walkie talkie or pager it might be worth opening it up and giving it an inspection for anything that weighs 20grams that looks out of place. I assume it will likely be touching the battery as it requires heat as the trigger mechanism. The explosives used in these devices were 20grams of PETN.
EDITEDIT: Another thing I'm not understanding is how the trigger mechanism works actually. The temperature detonation point of PETN is 4230Ā°C
EDITEDITEDIT: My guess is they are connected to the circuit. So there must be electronics added too. The energy needed for direct initiation by electric spark is 10-60 mJ.
EDIT4: Another question that needs answering is how the trigger was delivered to devices simultaneously. If the devices were triggered via the pager's own network transmissions then the pagers that are turned off would not have exploded, meaning there's tonnes of unexploded ones out there. However it might also have electronics added that are independent of this and pagers that were off may have also exploded. I suspect this is the most reliable explanation.
Okay so the graph shows that a cut in interest rates precipitates a recession. While that's true, I think we're still in uncertain waters because the US economy is unlike it's ever been. The 8 years of near zero interest rates was unprecedented and shifted so much of the capital into assets rather than real production. So I don't know if the typical rules about borrowing and reinvestment will apply.
Do the high priests of the economy think a recession is coming? They're saying they don't think so, but they also could be lying. The rate hikes were intended to slow down inflation, which they largely did. But prices are still high compared to wages. What will people do with lower interest rates? Is it enough to boost general consumption? Or just enough for financial types to move money away from production and into financial instruments. I don't know.
By the fucking way, does poland still ban abortion? I remembered their great euro party was elected to dump that law, but i'm checking it now and its still banned?
It does, fucking incredible:
On July 12, however, Tusk suffered what looks like an ominous defeat when a parliamentary vote to stop prosecuting people who assist with abortions failed ā by a wafer-thin 218-to-215 margin ā because of conservatives within his ruling coalition.
Huge fires in the north of portugal (again). Haven't looked into this in a while but usually I see the huge, dry, eucaliptus plantations as the reason for the rapid spread of these fires, there's been a major increase in that because it's an export crop that portugal carved out a small niche for itself in the eu market.
Last week the defense minister (from a party that can't even get elected to parliament anymore outside of a coalition with the main center-right party), said something about OlivenƧa being portuguese and Portugal not abdicating sovereignty over it, which is a small 11k people city on the frontier with spain that was supposed to be given back to portugal after the napoleonic wars (there was a treaty or something), but never was (I think this is a trueanon rule) and just kept being spanish. He was mostly mocked because no one really cares, and imagine being from OlivenƧa and seeing your minimum wage reduced from 1k euros to 840 euros.
Most Global South currencies are appreciating after US rate cut. Question is for how long since US economy will shrink without fiscal stimulus and reduce export demand....
Newest info from hungary (tho its anonymous sources of one of the biggest lib journo so take it with a grain of salt) is that the original order was made by a bulgarian company who arranged manufacturing and transport of the pagers from Taiwan to Lebanon and the hungarian company was only used as cover.
Even though I am rather doomer myself, pager attack seems to be of rather limited damage as there is almost no interruption to hezbollah attacks on israhell. But I hoped Nasrallah admit some failure on his part. I don't expect them to announce what is their solutions since that info will be abused by zionazis. We don't know scale of affect of Iran missile strike on isfake and probably never will but even that managed to stop the bombing in gaza for one day. I hope they start enforcing discipline better. Some officers really need to be held accountable as isn'treal was able to easily track shipment and send fake ones unnoticed and there was not even inspection on arrived materials

Brandenburg (the state surrounding Berlin, but w/o Berlin) voted. Somehow the SPD ("socdem" i.e. neolib) gained seats and is slightly ahead of the far-right AfD. Greens and Left look to be below 5% and out. BSW (Wagenknecht; new socdem nationalist/bigot (aka socdem) splitters from The Left) get 13%. CDU (conservatives) at 12%.
By current estimates, it's just enough for an SPD-BSW coalition, and not enough for SPD-CDU or AfD-CDU. This likely means we can all observe how the BSW is going to behave in coalition talks and government and that will be interesting/disappointing.
Yemenās Houthis on Sunday claimed a ballistic missile attack that hit the centre of Israel.
The attack by the long-range missile sparked a fire but did not cause any direct casualties, according to the Israeli army.
The Houthis, who control most of Yemen and the capital Sanaa, said the missile was a hypersonic one. The Israeli military denied it was hypersonic.
...
It is not clear how the Houthis may have developed or acquired the missiles.
Iranās president Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday said his country had not sent hypersonic missiles to the Yemeni group.
āWe don't have such missiles to provide to Yemen," Pezeshkian said in a televised speech. But Iran last year showcased what it described as the countryās first Iranian-made hypersonic ballistic missile named "Fattah".

Brazil receives support from American company and fires order to take down X.
On Wednesday night (18), Anatel (the National Telecommunications Agency) sent notices to 20,000 operators and internet providers again ordering them to block X, after the social network started operating again in Brazil.
Brazil had the support of the American company Cloudflare, used by Elon Musk to circumvent the order of Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who ordered the app to be blocked. Informed by Anatel of what had happened, Cloudflare āisolatedā the traffic used by X so that it could be blocked without affecting other institutions and companies using the same network. If it weren't for this, the blockade would also bring down access to the websites of the Supreme Court itself, private banks and others.
Isolated illegal miners surrender and abandon Yanomami Indigenous Land in Brazil.
With access difficult, the miners run out of food and give up their criminal activity. The suspects were arrested and taken to Boa Vista (State of Roraima). They were arrested by the Brazilian Federal Police (Brazil's FBI).
The motivation, according to the men's testimony, was the lack of food and the risk to their lives, given that the operations have prevented the transit of supplies and materials to the criminal camps set up inside the Indigenous Territory. The actions of the criminals will be greatly hampered in the coming days once the destruction of airstrips identified inside the TIY begins.
Also during the week of September 8-14, 14 campsites, 8 Starlink or Via Sat antennas, 38 motors, a handmade firearm and 12 generators were destroyed. There was also the destruction of 1,350 liters of diesel and the seizure of a Starlink antenna, seven guns and three rounds of ammunition. From March 2024 to September 14, 2024, the government carried out 1,773 actions to combat mining and provide logistical support.
The State Department imposed sanctions on the state-funded network for alleged covert intelligence activities
The United States government imposed sanctions on Russian media network RT after accusing the state-funded outlet of carrying out covert intelligence activities around the world to advance Kremlin interests. Among the countries allegedly targeted is Argentina: according to the Biden administration, RT is attempting to ādestabilizeā President Javier Mileiās government.
āThe Russian Government is also engaged in operations meant to destabilize the government of Argentina and escalate tensions between Argentina and its neighbors,ā said a release by the State Department on Friday. However, it did not provide any concrete examples of how these alleged destabilization efforts were being conducted.
Of course they didn't provide any concrete examples. OF COURSE.
Milei has been vocal about his support for Ukraine. In June, he participated in the Global Summit for Peace and offered the country āfull supportā in its war against Russia. He has also expressed disdain for Vladimir Putinās government: before becoming president, Milei had said he would not be partnering in business with āany communist countries,ā including Russia. His government also declined entering the trading bloc BRICS Russia is a part of, an effort that had been spearheaded by the prior administration.
Famous communist, Putin.
In its briefing, the State Department said that RT was no longer just a media outlet, calling it āan entity with cyber capabilities.ā It accused it of a series of āmalign activities,ā such as āengaging in information operations, covert influence, and military procurement in Europe, Africa, and North and South America.ā This includes interfering in foreign elections and launching a crowdfunding campaign to procure weapons for Russiaās war against Ukraine.
So like CNN, BBC and etc etc.
According to the statement, these RT-managed influence and intelligence operations began in the Spring of 2023 by direct orders of the Kremlin. It also said RT head Margarita Simonyan and RT Deputy Editor-in-Chief Anton Anisimov have direct knowledge of this enterprise. The State Department explained that the U.S. government was āactively engaged in a diplomatic effortā to inform other governments about these ādestabilizing actions abroadā, and encouraged them to ātake actionā against them.
The United Kingdom and Canada also made similar claims about RTās alleged covert activities on Friday.
Last week, the U.S. also filed money-laundering charges against two employees of RT for allegedly using shell companies and fake personas to hire a Tennessee company in order to produce online content aimed at influencing the 2024 U.S. presidential election, purportedly in favor of Republican candidate Donald Trump. It also announced actions targeting RT, including Simonyan.
ok still don't care lmao
This is a new chapter in the U.S. and Russiaās strained relationship. Joe Bidenās administration has issued several sanctions against Russian individuals and companies since the war against Ukraine began in 2022. On Saturday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in her opening remarks at the BRICS media summit in Moscow that RT journalists are being āsubjected to a real terrorist and information attackā from the U.S. based on āmonstrous and baselessā accusations. She warned member countries that the same could happen to them.
RT, our people yearn for destabilization of the milei regime so we can take back power.
was the new yemeni missile a "real" hypersonic or a more standard type with 'hypersonic' strike velocity?---probably marring the terms here but i know there's an important distinction between them people in here have been making that news and hype often conflate.
but it'd be interesting if the real iranian/russian technology was actually in yemen now

Huw Edwards has been spared jail for accessing indecent images of children as young as seven.
Prosecutor Ian Hope told the court Edwards had been assessed as posing a "medium risk of causing serious harm to children".
In sentencing remarks, district judge Paul Goldspring added he was at "considerable risk of harm from others" if he had ended up in prison.
random bullshit go defense incoming:
A separate report conducted by a psychosexual therapist said: "The feelings of being desirable and unseen alongside Mr Edwards's unresolved sexual orientation created a perfect storm where he engaged in sexual infidelities and became vulnerable to people blackmailing him."
The judge also said that Edwards was of "previous good character" and, until now, had been "very highly regarded by the public" - whom to many he had broken the news of the late Queen's death.
[...]This created an "enduring cognitive dissonance and low self-esteem", which was "compounded by a sense of being inferior" by not getting into Oxford University and going to Cardiff instead and "being therefore something of an outsider at the BBC".
Does anyone know the regional consequences of a potential open war declaration by iran, would iran suddenly be at war with all the comprador arab governments in the region as well as israel and the us, by that i mean those countries actually fielding troops not just acting as us staging bases
The IDF killed three Palestinians and wounded ten others on Thursday in the city of Qabatiya, in the governorate of Jenin (north of the occupied West Bank), during a military incursion that continues since morning.
In a second drone attack, the IDF seriously wounded a young man in a vehicle, according to local sources. Hours earlier, soldiers shot and killed three other Palestinians stationed on a roof.
According to medical sources of the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least 10 other people have been injured, four seriously, including a 16-year-old boy with a āvery critical bullet woundā in his chest who was taken to hospital.
Videos posted on social media show the moment when an Israeli soldier shoots three Palestinians on a roof. In the images, a soldier is seen pushing the body of one of them, who rushes into the void against the ground. The other two were thrown in the same way, according to WAFA.
āThe bodies were then moved by an Israeli Army bulldozer and are now in their possession,ā local sources say.
The military incursion caused panic among students from nearby schools in Abu al-Rab and Qabatiya, about a thousand students who were evacuated by bus due to intense close firing. Local journalists also reported that soldiers used tear gas on them.
New MoA post. Among things that have already been discussed here, they argue that the Israeli story of the explosives being discovered seems unlikely - why would any Hezbollah operatives not immediately inform their commanders, and how would Israel know of the discovery? Rather, the attack may have been a choice by Netanyahu to silence critics who claim he is not doing enough against Hezbollah.
A large long range attack has been carried out against Russia with what appears to be jet powered Ukrainian drones, against the Russian Toropets Military Base/weapons storage system. This led to a runaway explosion of all the ammunition and military equipment stored there, the explosion was so powerful that it registered 2.8 on the Richter scale, and the resulting fires and smoke were visible from satellites in space. Video of the explosion. It seems as if the "state of the art" military base was not state of the art at all in it's blast protection systems, and corruption likely played a role in the base not being up to standard. The General that was in charge of the project, ex Deputy Minister of Defense General Dmitry Bulgakov, was arrested on corruption charges this year in July. He was reported to have embezzled over 400 million rubles during the execution of state contracts. So it looks like he just took the money and ran, instead of building a proper weapons and ammunition storage facility.
Dmitry Bulgakov will also be checked for involvement in actions related to the embezzlement of 400 million rubles in the execution of state contracts of Voentorg. On August 1, the head of the JSC "Voentorg" and the beneficiary of the controlled organisations were detained in the case of embezzlement of a particularly large amount of money during the conclusion of state contracts. It was Bulgakov who was in charge of the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces during the period when these embezzlements were committed.
According to the deputy defence minister, the implementation of the arsenal construction programme will make it possible to shelter ammunition in concrete and fast-erecting storage facilities of new construction. It will also help eliminate overloading at the existing storage facilities.
Bulgakov added that it will be possible to minimise the possibility of terrorist attacks on the territory of the arsenal and improve the environmental situation in the storage area.
(Colombian President) Gustavo Petro urges base to prepare for revolution over silent coup fears - Colombia Report
President ordered army not to take up weapons against the people.
Article
Colombiaās President Gustavo Petro mobilized his base over fears that far-right opponents of his government seek to oust him from power.
At events that were organized for community journalists and political activists, Petro called on his supporters to start a revolution in the event of a silent coup.
The president stepped up his public performances in the week ahead of a key meeting of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in which magistrates decide whether or not to charge Petro and his 2022 campaign team over alleged spending violations.
The president has deemed this investigation as fraudulent, in violation of his presidential immunity and an attempted silent coup by his opponents on the far-right.
Critics of the president have called him paranoid, but Petro stressed that similarly dubious investigations by administrative authorities have already removed three of the government coalitionās elected lawmakers from Congress.
At an event organized for political activists, the president said that āI have ordered the Army of Colombia and the National Police, the Air Force and the Navy not to raise a single weapon against the people who demand democracy.ā
Petro said that the eventual revolution in his support āwill be peaceful, but overwhelming: the neckties and the mafia on one side and the entire Colombian people on the other.ā
"It will not be a war, no. It will be a massive popular celebration, and that is why we need you, as the leadership of the popular movement in Colombia, young people, women, workers, indigenous, ethnic, LGBTI, everything." - President Gustavo Petro
At an event for community journalists that was held last week, Petro said that the attempted coup would start on Monday, when the CNE is scheduled to make a decision on whether to formally charge the president and his election team.
The U.S. puppet president of Ecuador announces that he'll present a constitutional amendment bill to modify the article which prohibits the establishment of foreign military bases, so that the U.S. can set up more bases in Ecuadorian territory.
Iranās Defense Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, said that the change of government in Venezuela will not alter Tehranās policy towards Caracas. During a meeting in Tehran with the Venezuelan Minister of Transport, RamĆ³n VelĆ”zquez, Nasirzadeh emphasized: Ā«The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to support with all its forces the legitimate and legal government of Mr NicolĆ”s Maduro as it has done in the pastĀ».
The Iranian minister highlighted the potential of bilateral relations, expressing his desire to strengthen cooperation between both nations. Nasirzadeh also recalled the fundamental role of late Iranian president Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and late Venezuelan president Hugo ChĆ”vez FrĆas in establishing a new chapter in Iranian-Venezuelan relations.
Ā«Mr Chavez was a pioneer of the anti-imperialist struggle and left a vast legacy for Venezuela, which today is at the forefront of the fight against imperialism and global hegemonyĀ», said Nasirzadeh. The Iranian minister expressed his confidence that unity between the government and the Venezuelan people, along with the vigilance of the Armed Forces and the countryās leadership, will thwart any conspiracy against Venezuela.
Nasirzadeh stressed the importance of the joint commission for economic cooperation as a key mechanism to strengthen coordination and alliance between the two countries in the face of common enemies.
Minister VelƔzquez conveyed the greetings of President Maduro to the Iranian leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and to the Iranian President and Defense Minister. VelƔzquez also pointed to the existence of common enemies using various tools against both nations, mentioning recent cyber attacks on infrastructure in both countries and in Lebanon.
Relations between Iran and Venezuela, which date back to the 1960s, have strengthened significantly in recent years. Both countries support each other in their sovereign development and in the face of US pressures, having signed various agreements in sectors such as energy, science, oil, defense, culture, economy and food.
So, what do we think folks, is this a prelude to a wider Israeli operation in Lebanon or is the shock and awe the operation itself? I fail to see how this lets any of the tens of thousands of Israelis return to their "homes" in the north near the border, nor what this does to cripple Hezbollah's continued attacks on Israeli infrastructure in the north. Is this the opening salvo of the long predicated Special Military Operation in Lebanon? A cheap tactic for Netanyahu and co to chalk up a win? Something else? This is an incredibly impressive operation, but you only get to try this trick once. Not sure why now.
It was intended to be used during the presidential elections held on July 28. On Monday, Citizen Security Minister Diosdado Cabello confirmed that Venezuelan security forces seized military equipment from the U.S., adding to the previous confiscation of over 400 rifles on September 14.
Among the seized weapons are Kalashnikov rifles and other firearms from Century Arms, a company specialized in manufacturing replicas of the AK rifle. Authorities also confiscated an M4A1, an automatic assault rifle in carbine form, which is used exclusively by U.S. military forces.
The Citizen Security Minister highlighted that the shipment of weapons was intended to be used during Venezuelaās presidential elections held on July 28. He also revealed that the coup plotters had ties with a hacker mafia from Israel.
āWe captured three individuals involved in grenade attacks. These criminals were linked to Jose Miguel Estrada, who is serving a sentence for the attempted assassination of President Nicolas Maduro,ā he said.
āFourteen gang leaders arrested are being interrogated because they planned to place explosives inside prisons,ā Cabello said, and confirmed that Wilber CastaƱeda, an active U.S. military member, contacted a person linked to the criminal gang known as the Aragua Train.
āThe weapons entered Venezuela from Colombia,ā the Bolivarian Citizen Security Minister said, revealing that, before the elections, far-right coup plotters distributed pamphlets in Miami and Colombia, claiming they would seize the Venezuelan government heaquarters regardless of the election results.
On Monday night, President Nicolas Maduro said these events confirm previous accusations that Hector Guerrero (aka NiƱo), leader of the Aragua Train, is directly linked to the terrorist attacks. He also indicated that what Cabello has publicly presented āis not even 10 percent of the full evidence regarding the terrorist plansā that the Venezuelan Prosecutorās Office already has in its possession.
Do the russians in charge really believe their own nonsense about traditional values compared to the west. Because it seems that they just picked a side in the culture war bs and got entangled into it instead of using those idiots to destabilize the west. Maybe it's a bit of both.
According to several media, the company is registered in Bulgaria's capital Sofia and is owned by a person with Norwegian citizenship.
The webpage of the company the Norwegian is linked to contained a presentation of various technical and advisory services as late as around 11 o'clock on Thursday. It has since been emptied of content and now only displays a message about missing content.
PST [Norwegian Police Security Service] is aware of the claims from various international media that a Norwegian-owned company is said to have been involved in the sale of pagers. PST cannot confirm this information, nor can we provide further comments on the matter, communications director Trond Hugubakken writes to NRK.
Several Norwegian media outlets have tried to get in contact with him. He's registered on an address in Oslo, and was apparently (and still is I think?) on an oversea business trip when the terror attacks in Lebanon happened. One newspaper (VG) went to his address and knocked on his door. They got no response. When they asked his neighbors, they were told that they haven't seen the man since the summer vacation in July.
It was the man's own employer (in Norway) who reported him to PST:
The man's employer informs VG that he was called by an American journalist sent on Wednesday evening and made allegations about the employee's connection to the company in Bulgaria.
"I checked some links and was able to see the same as he had put. When I receive information that apparently looks serious in such an inflamed case, it was natural for me to notify PST immediately," says the man's employer
edit: from CBS, revealing the name of both the company and the Norwegian owner (Rinson Jose):
Separate records reviewed by CBS News show that Norta Global Ltd. was registered as a company in Bulgaria in April 2022, with its sole owner listed as a Norwegian citizen named Rinson Jose. Global Norta is described on its website ā which has since been taken offline ā as offering a range of services "from outsourcing, consulting, tech and payment integration, analysis, promotion of techno products and services, as well as the estimation and processing of relevant commercial transactions.
In the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa, the people rally supporting the president Xiomara Castro after the recent coup attempts directed from the United States and activated by the ambassador of that country in Honduras, Laura Dogu against the Castroās government.
The call comes after the president stated in early September that a plan is underway to destroy her government, while assuring that the peace and internal security of the Republic was at risk due to the American interference in the centromericano country.
āI call upon the citizens of the resistance and the people in general to mobilize in front of the Presidential House to show our determined support for the courageous struggle that our president, Xiomara Castro, is waging for the independence and dignity of Honduras,ā published by former President Manuel Zelaya in X citing his supporters.
Zelaya also called the population to firmly oppose āthose who promote and organize a new coup.ā
As it was scheduled, the people gathered in front of the Presidential House to express their solidarity with the president Castro and their rejection to the coup attempt and the North American interventionism.
Wrt to Israel and the Middle East I would love to see a solution where both Jews and Muslims would have equal rights in a non-apartheid non-genocidal country. But the way Israel is the existence of Israel and the existence of the Middle East as a whole (not just Palestine) are now mutually exclusive scenarios. Truly depressing. I dont think in the short term Israel or the US is going anywhere but in the long run I can't see how Israel can exist as it is
Venezuela: National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez thanked former presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez for recognizing the will of the popular powers. He showed photos of Gonzalez signing the recognition of the national powers.
President of the National Assembly, Jorge RodrĆguez, showed evidence of the meeting he held, together with the Executive Vice President, Delcy RodrĆguez, with the former presidential candidate Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia.
At that meeting, GonzƔlez Urrutia gave the two officials a letter in which he expressed his recognition and respect for the Public Powers that make up the Venezuelan State, as well as his recognition of results that made President Maduro the winner in the election last July.
Seems like Gonzalez doesn't want to be Guaido 2.0 and betrayed Maria Corina Machado and the US?
In the annals of this present era, when Heavenās favor once bestowed upon the Empress of the European Realms, Ursula von der Leyen, now appears to wane, the signs of discord multiply in alarming fashion. Not since the distant days when rulers were cast from their thrones by the wrath of nature have the rivers of Europe surged so violently. The floods that have swept across the lands, from Austria to Hungary to Poland, have wrought devastation.
These torrents, swollen with the rains of Heaven, have overwhelmed the great riversāthe Danube, the Morava, and beyondābursting their banks, as if in a dire warning. Villages lay submerged, and cities were brought to their knees by waters that left most of their homes underwater. Bridges, those vital arteries of the realm, have collapsed, and the call for a state of natural disaster echoes across the land.
Surely, this is more than a mere misfortune; it is a sign from the Heavens. The Empress von der Leyen, though resolute in her proclamations of European solidarity, has lost the sacred Mandate of Heaven. Even now, the rulers of the East and the West scramble in panic. The governor of the hungarian province Viktor OrbƔn, was compelled to abandon his parliamentary duties and the teutonic general Olaf Scholz schemes the downfall by marching his army on the prohibitively expensive city of Brussels the seat of the Empresses power. In these omens, it is clear: Nature herself cries out, demanding a renewal of leadership that may once again align with the will of Heaven
The Empress, once entrusted with the sacred duty to guide her people, now finds herself beset by calamity on all sides, for the favor of Heaven does not waver lightly, and the storms above reflect the discontent below. As the rivers of Europe rage, drowning cities and villages alike, it is not only the Empress von der Leyen who must look to the heavens in fear of her fate. In these times of great upheaval, the court of Europe is rife with whispers of challengers, each seeking to seize the Mandate of Heaven and bring forth a new era of rule.
Reporting from the Red Turban headquarters planning the fall of the EU Sky and the rise of a red one, there will be prosperity under the heavens.
At this point there are two interpretations to the events up until now:
Bloomer: The Axis of Resistance is carrying out an attritional war to bleed Israel dry, and all of Israel's acts of terrorism are done out of desperation due to the fact that they still have not been able to destroy Hamas. Israel is engaging in terrorist attacks mostly just as a way to make themselves feel beter, but it doesn't change how fucked up their economy and society is now.
Doomer: Israel is winning handily, and is on the path to successfully completing their genocide. All of their acts of terrorism are done to show how many cards they have up their sleeve, how they are capable and willing to perform actions at a rapid pace that the resistance cannot keep up with. Iran are paper tigers, and the axis of resistance is so afraid of Israel's power that they are too scared to muster a response. Even worse with the U.S. dedicated to backing Israel no matter what. Israel has effectively already won, and all of their actions up until now have just been them playing with their food. (coincidentally this is a view that smug Zionazis seem to share)
I think this is the issue when it comes to the long-term planning as opposed to short-term actions. Long-term, you're likely not going to see the results of it for a painfully long time, and it feels like nothing's really changed. Meanwhile short-term actions might not end up panning out in the long run, but they sure do make it feel like you're winning by constantly making headlines and being very in-your-face.
This is deliciously intriguing; it comes from a very well-informed Russian intel source.
So the story goes that the head of MI6 Richard Moore ordered his spooks - in Hungary - to put explosives in the pagers in case Hezbollah got "out of controlā.
But" among the English T.E. Lawrences", there were not only friends of Israel, but also enemies of Moore. They handed over the alarm code to the Mossad. So, "without hesitation, they neutralized all of Moore's agents with one blow."
This might indeed be directly linked to the Brit nest of spiders. There wonāt be a smoking gun, of course. What is already happening is the whole Brit press hysterically stating this was just a tricky Mossad op - and MI6 was not involved at all.
"This is how the legend of the omnipotence of the Mossadā continues.
Just based off how things have been progressing I'm predicting another wave of explosions tomorrow and perhaps even a full-on invasion by the genocide corps.
UN Committee: Denmark Fails to Protect the Rights of People with Disabilities
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, where conditions for people with disabilities are deteriorating. The increased use of coercion in psychiatric institutions, failed attempts to integrate students with special needs into mainstream classrooms, and the significantly shorter life expectancy for individuals with disabilities are just a few of the damning points raised by the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Denmark has come under heavy criticism from the committee in its periodic review, highlighting the nationās failure to fulfill its international obligations to protect and support people with disabilities. While the "Positive Aspects" section of the committee's report spans a mere three subsections, the "Areas of Concern" dominate the document with a staggering 82 subsections. This grim assessment continues the trend from the previous review in 2014, where Denmark also faced sharp rebukes.
In general conditions for people living with disabilities are moving in the wrong direction in Denmark. From removing accessibility standards from building codes to lack of access to cultural life to placing disabled children in prison-like institutions to not providing sign language training for staff in care facilities everything is getting worse. Political leaders, bureaucrats and the general public is mostly disinterested and unaware of the rights of disabled people and ableism and negative stereotypes about people with disabilities are common.
The committee is especially critical of Denmark's failure to properly implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into national legislation and the lack of a comprehensive national action plan that addresses all areas of the convention.
The committee is concerned about the "prevalence and increasing use of coercion, forced treatment and restrictive practices [...] including physical and chemical restraints against children and adults with disabilities in social care and psychiatric institutions". The use of force in the psychiatric system has increased by 25% over the last decade with physical and chemical restraints now being used nearly 20.000 times a year.
To make matters worse, Denmark's rubber-stamp parliament have recently weakened protections against abuse, making it easier for institutions to use force against people with disabilities while relaxing the requirements for documenting these incidents.
Denmark's system of state racism is also being criticised for neglecting the needs of mentally disabled refugees as well as for for making it increasingly harder to be exempt from the stringent language and knowledge tests when applying for citizenship.
The policy of so-called "inclusion" in public schools was presented by political leaders as a progressive initiative to integrate special need students in mainstream classrooms. In practice it has been an austerity measure intended to save on costly special education rather than helping special needs students. Little to no resources were earmarked to accommodate special needs students. It has predictably been an utter failure for students, teachers and classmates. The committee is criticising this failure and nothing how it is negatively affecting the schooling of special needs students.
The healthcare system, often considered the crown jewel of the Danish welfare state, is not escaping harsh criticism either. People with disabilities frequently encounter discrimination in healthcare, leading to serious consequences, including significantly lower life expectancies for certain disabled groups compared to the general population.
Another area of concern is the vast disparity in service quality between municipalities, which effectively turns what should be guaranteed rights into a geographic lottery.
Thorkild Olesen, chairman of the Danish Handicap Organisations, is not surprised and says that "it is time for a political change of paradigm so people with disabilities are seen as an investment, not an expense".
Sophie HƦstorp Andersen, head of the nation's Social Democrat-controlled ministry of social and housing affairs, has so far refused in-depth questions from the media but has released a brief statement through Ritzau, promising to engage in dialogue with disabled people's organizations.
Venezuela: MEPs recognise Edmundo GonzƔlez as President
The EU should do its utmost to ensure that Edmundo GonzƔlez Urrutia, the legitimate and democratically elected President of Venezuela, can take office on 10 January 2025.
In a resolution adopted on Thursday 19 September by 309 votes in favour, 201 against and 12 abstentions, Parliament āstrongly condemns and fully rejects the electoral fraud orchestrated by the regime-controlled National Electoral Council, which refused to make public the official result.ā MEPs recognise Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia as the countryās legitimate and democratically elected president, and MarĆa Corina Machado as the leader of the democratic forces in Venezuela. They also strongly condemn the Venezuelan Governmentās issuance of an arrest warrant for Mr GonzĆ”lez.
Article
MEPs highlight that despite repeated calls from the international community, the Venezuelan regime has failed to respect the 2023 Barbados Agreement between the Maduro government and the opposition in relation to the presidential election, making a free and fair election impossible.
MEPs note that reports from international election observation missions clearly state that the Venezuelan presidential election of 28 July 2024 did not meet international standards of electoral integrity. They also condemn in the strongest possible terms the murders, harassment, violations and arrests perpetrated against the democratic opposition, the Venezuelan people, and civil society, calling for an end to systematic human rights violations.
Parliament urges the EU to reinstate sanctions against the members of the National Electoral Council. It calls for the prolongation of regime sanctions and for expanding their scope to apply targeted sanctions through the EU Global Human Rights Sanctions Regime against NicolƔs Maduro and his inner circle.
MEPs welcome the role that the governments of Brazil, Colombia and Mexico are playing and urge regional actors and the international community to exert maximum pressure on Maduroās regime and his inner circle to accept the democratic will of the Venezuelan people, recognising Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia as the legitimate and democratically elected President. If this does not happen, Parliament warns that a renewed migratory exodus to other countries in the region will follow, similar to that which has led close to eight million Venezuelans to flee the country in recent years.
Brazilian Supreme Court Judge, Moraes, fines Twitter/X and Starlink R$5 million (Around 1 million USD) for attempting to ābypassā blockade
The punishment will be R$5 million per day for each company and will start to apply from Thursday (19). Minister speaks of āwillful, illicit and persistent recalcitrance of platform X in complying with court ordersā
Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered a new fine for X (formerly Twitter) and Starlink, both companies owned by billionaire Elon Musk, for allegedly trying to circumvent the blockade of the social network in Brazil imposed by the Judiciary.
The punishment will be R$5 million per day for each company and will start to apply from Thursday (19), but the Supreme Court will still define the period that the penalty will last - depending on how long X and Starlink continue to fail to comply with court decisions. Moraes' decision was published as a āsubpoena noticeā, since X has no legal representative on national territory. This was, in fact, the main reason that led the STF minister to order the suspension of the platform in Brazil.
In his order, the magistrate summons X āto immediately suspend the use of its new accesses through the CDN servers Cloudfare, Fastly and Edgeuno and others like them, created to circumvent the judicial decision to block the platform in national territory, under penalty of a daily fine of R$5 millionā.
X starts blocking accounts in Brazil that have been suspended by the Supreme Court.
The suspension of these users is one of the requirements set by Justice Alexandre de Moraes for the network to return to the air. X (formerly Twitter) has started blocking accounts that have been ordered to be suspended by the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Among the accounts being banned are those of youtuber Bruno Aiub, known as Monark, and blogger Allan dos Santos. They are being investigated for allegedly spreading disinformation and promoting attacks against Brazilian institutions.
In a dispute with the Supreme Court, Elon Musk, owner of the platform, ordered the suspension of the blocking of the accounts and published decisions issued by the Supreme Court with blocking orders. Musk's main criticism is of Justice Alexandre de Moraes, the rapporteur of the investigation into fake news and the structuring of a digital militia. Billionaire Elon Musk himself is being investigated by the court.
However, on Wednesday (18), the accounts were suspended again. Moraes ordered the platform to be blocked last month, after the company withdrew all its representatives from Brazil and refused to comply with court orders, including taking down profiles that made attacks on Federal Police delegates
Anybody have a good report on the Khakhovka Dam collapse from last June? Had a discussion/disagreement with a pro-Ukraine guy irl about stuff after the golf course Trump would-be assassin turned out to be a deranged NAFO guy and the irl guy was trying to deflect about "Russian imperialism" at the same time he was claiming "Putin is doing scorched earth tactics purely out of vindictive national hatred of the Ukrainian people" and claimed Russia destroyed the dam just to flood out the region downstream of it to ruin infrastructure.
I don't know enough about it to push back on it confidently and didn't want to reveal my power level too much, but the whole thing read to me like the "Russia is gonna blow up the ZNPP as a dirty bomb" thing awhile back where I was just like "...the power plant they control? That they captured and secured? That they'd want to maintain as valuable infrastructure if they intend on conquering everything in Ukraine like you claim?" I know there's a lot of fog of war shit in reporting from an active warzone, but I'm almost certain this guy believed in the "Ghost of Kiev" and probably soyfaced over the "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" Snake Island thing, and the dam collapse thing being a vindictive Russian scorched earth thing just sounds fishy to me. Weren't there reports of it being hit with US supplied HIMARS by Ukrainian forces or am I thinking of something else?
Pushing back on this kind of shit makes me feel like sometimes I stfg
X (Elon Musk) is attempting to circumvent blocking in Brazil by using services that 'shield' traffic, say internet providers. The platform has hired companies such as Cloudflare which, in practice, make it difficult for telephone companies to block it.
It seems that it is still blocked by all internet providers, with only a few 4G/5G providers giving it temporary access. He has already lost all revenue and most users from Brazil. This looks like a desperate attempt not to take a big L, since Elon has a huge and fragile ego.
From what I've seen on both Twitter and Bluesky (since Brazilians are using it now), Cloudflare has servers inside Brazil. Which means that the Supreme Court could easily send them a note to take Twitter off the air again.
My guess is they tempered with the batteries. A lot of pagers (most pagers?) seem to just use AAA batteries, so they could make custom AAA batteries where half of it is the actual battery providing the device with a certain volt and ampere while the other half is where the explosive is stored. At the end of the day, electronics mostly care about whether a battery has the right amount of current and voltage. They don't have a means of determining the particular form factor of the battery. The explosives would trigger based on heat, so people saying that Mossad send a signal to overheat the devices are half-correct. They send the overheat signal, which causes the device to overheat, which triggers the explosives within the batteries.

Western mainstream media seems to have this take on the illegal zionist entity's terror attacks on Lebanon:
The attacks wounded or killed large parts of Hezbollah's leadership, thereby significantly sealing the organisation
The illegal zionist entity has penetrated the entire command structure of Hezbollah
The illegal zionist entity "has been one step ahead of" Hezbollah all the time
Hezbollah will probably retaliate in some form but they do not have the capability to do a large counterattack
Nasrallah's speech is just Nasrallah doing his job and saying what he's expected to say. It is mostly empty threats.
I can link you the article I got this from but I'm sure there are hundreds of similar articles out there for you to find.
All of this sounds very one-sided but it seems plausible that many leading Hezbollah members were among the victims of the terrorist attacks. It also seems plausible that the attacks might cause paranoia and fear internally on Lebanon and in Hezbollah. I don't know what effect it has on their operational capabilities though, I would reckon that they have planned for situations like these and protected their organisation against decapitation attacks.
Hezbollah attacked the North Command air-defence missile base at Beria Barracks of the IDF with Katiusha rocket bursts.
The Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah launched drone and rocket attacks against Israeli military institutions, setting a heavy fire in Upper Galilee near the city of Safad, Israel.
As the fourth operation of the day, the Lebanese institution expressed that āthe Islamic Resistance mujahidin launched an air attack on Friday 13/09/2024 with suicide drone squadrons towards the Philon base (the headquarters of the 210 Division brigades and their warehouses in the northern region) to the southeast of the occupied city of Safed, targeting the locations and locations of their officers and soldiers, striking them directly and causing confirmed casualtiesā.
Similarly, Hizbollah attacked the Zibdin barracks but had previously sent Katiusha model rocket bursts against the Northern Command air defence missile base at IDF Beria barracks.
The impact of Lebanese shells caused a large fire in a forest near the town of Safad, causing minor damage to a community building. Israelās fire and rescue services were responsible for containing the fire.
Last Friday, Israeli planes bombed the town in the south of Bint Jbeil, the first operation targeted a house in the Aouini neighbourhood and the second targeted the Wadi area, resulting in three deaths: all civilians, including a child, in Kafr Joz at Nabatiyeh, south of Lebanon.
On 11 September, two brothers were killed in an air strike on a motorcycle in Bayada, southern Lebanon.
The Israeli air force also carried out a number of attacks on 10 September against Lebanese territory, including a drone strike on the city of Nabatiyeh, injuring several people.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that āthe strongest arm of Iran is Hezbollah in Lebanon. On the eve of elections, the people of Honduras take to the streets today to support the government of Xiomara Castro, in a national mobilization. āNo more coups, Xiomara is not alone, are part of the chants echoing in Tegucigalpa,ā says Karim Duarte, teleSUR correspondent in the Central American nation.
On the 203rd anniversary of Central America's independence from Spanish colonialism, the rallies were convened by the national coordinator of the Libertad y RefundaciĆ³n (Libre) party, former president Manuel Zelaya.
Thousands of Hondurans gathered in front of the Presidential House to confront the destabilizing plans of the opposition right wing directed from the United States and activated by the ambassador of that country in Honduras, Laura Dogu.
Social and political movements lead an exercise of popular resistance in the avenues of Tegucigalpa to defend their right to self-determination, dignity and independence.
On the 22th there's going to be another regional state election in Germany, Brandenburg this time, and again the AfD is leading in the polls (25-28%) followed by the SPD(20-25%), then the CDU (15-19%), and BSW (13-27%) and the rest all below or around 5%
Since the 90s the SPD has placed first in every state election in Brandenburg and all state president's have been from the SPD
The Jakarta Post - Broadening the prospects for shared future of China-ASEAN community
*Note: I would rate The Jakarta Post to something like SCMP. Sometimes the article itself is fine, sometimes it is Liberalism. The paper itself has ties to the Indonesian ruling class and intellectual elite.
ā¦As Chinese ambassador to ASEAN, I would emphasize that the resolution not only has a profound impact on the future of China, but also pools of vast opportunities for the development of ASEAN countries. It thus will open broader prospects for the China-ASEAN communityās shared future.
First, Chinaās reform will help China and ASEAN achieve common development. During the past 33 years, the two parties have joined hands to pursue modernization.
ā¦The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects such as the China-Laos Railway and the Whoosh Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway have helped promote regional connectivity and economic development along the line. The successful and vibrant China-ASEAN relationship has brought tremendous tangible benefits to the 2 billion people in the region.
ā¦Second, Chinaās further reform and opening up will inject new impetus to China-ASEAN relations. The resolution outlines plans for fostering new quality productive forces, nurturing new areas for international cooperation, including next-generation information technology, artificial intelligence, aviation and aerospace, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, biomedicine and quantum technology.
ASEAN is drafting the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and its strategic plans, and making great efforts in developing the digital economy, green economy and blue economy, as well as other emerging industries. With more and more confluence of interests, China and ASEAN can align their strategies to explore more potential cooperation in the future.
China-ASEAN cooperation on clean energy has continued to expand in recent years. Chinese brands account for 67 percent of electric vehicles sold in ASEAN, contributing to the energy transition in our region.
ā¦China stays committed to fully implementing the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and calls for an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. China will continue to implement the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in a high-quality manner and promote regional economic integration. China will continue to unleash the opportunities of BRI cooperation to further enhance regional connectivity.
I have been following the situation in the sahel and it's pretty bleak.
After the last terrorist attack on Bamako the capital of mali. Several fulani people were burned alive by the population with the support of the authorities and now their live stocks markets have been closed.
The fulani people are a nomadic tribe like the tuareg. Seems like the terrorist are getting stronger and stronger while the ethnics tensions in the country are increasing.
If you want to stop terrorism you build infrastructures and offer jobs you don't kick them out of the system.
One of the other evenment of note is the trench massacre of last months where hundred were killed in Burkina faso after traore ordered the population to dig trenches and terrorists simply killed them.
Lula da Silva and Vladimir Putin talk by phone about forest fires and war in Ukraine.
According to the Brazilian government, Putin expressed 'solidarity' in the fight against forest fires. The presidents also discussed the proposal for peace in Eastern Europe, defended by Brazil and China.
In a statement, Russia said that theyāexpressed solidarity with Brazil in the fight against forest fires. Regarding the conflict between the Russians and the Ukrainians, the Brazilian government said that the two presidents had discussed the peace proposal that Brazil and China are defending.
Next week, after the United Nations General Assembly, the Brazilian and Chinese governments will make a presentation on the proposal in New York. In June, Lula did not want to take part in a meeting on the war led by Switzerland. At the time, he argued that peace would be discussed without the participation of Russian representatives. The president advocates a negotiation that brings Ukrainians and Russians into the talks.
Lula has already met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who often criticizes him for considering the Brazilian leader's position favorable to Putin. Lula is scheduled to make his first visit to Russia during his third term as president. The summit of the BRICS countries will take place between October 22 and 24 in Kazan.
Portugal declares a state of calamity amid major forest fires. 7 people have died across the country since the start of the fires, which have already affected more than 62,000 hectares. Prime Minister Montenegro has canceled his entire schedule for the week to focus on fighting the fires.
The Governmentās chief negotiator, Vera Grabe, said that they will continue to persist in peace as a cry from the territories.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro urged the National Liberation Army (ELN) on Thursday to abandon acts of violence if it really intends to continue with the peace process.
Through the social network X, Petro wrote that if the ELN does not want to break the peace process say so. Do not be silent, that peace is to shout it and violence to bury itĀ». In this way, the Colombian head of state responded to the words of the ELN leader, Antonio GarcĆa. A peace process is broken if young peopleās lives are broken and poor families suffer. If the ELN does not want to break the peace process, say so. Donāt be silent, that peace is for shouting and violence is for burying.
Amid the growing tensions between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army (ELN), new statements are emerging that call into question the future of the peace process. The ELN commander, Antonio GarcĆa, published a statement on his Telegram channel about the current situation.
According to GarcĆa, despite the recent military operations against the ELN by the police and the military forces, the guerrilla organization does not consider the peace process to be broken. However, they point to President Gustavo Petro as the culprit of any potential break-up:
Ā«The ELN has been subjected to military operations against it by the police and the FFMM, but we have never said that the peace process is broken. Who breaks is the President @petrogustavo with his statementsĀ», he stressed.
The top ELN leader said that the peace process between the government and the guerrillas is currently frozen, due to alleged breaches of agreements by the government of Gustavo Petro.
Further stresses that this situation has led to a stalemate in the negotiations and increased mistrust between the parties. A crucial point in the deterioration of relations was the non-extension of the ceasefire. In this context, and in search of solutions, the Minister of Defence and the Commander of the Military Forces ordered the resumption of offensive operations against the ELN.
Despite the resumption of military operations, sources suggest that it is still possible to continue the peace process: Ā«Even in the midst of military operations peace processes can continue, that have done at various times different governments, now can not be the exceptionĀ».
Last August, the ELN issued a statement in which it stated that if it was in the interest of the government to continue the peace process, also taking into account the political nature of the ELN and its status as an armed rebel organization, should be removed from the GCO list.
āYou will be drowned in a flood of martyrdom operationsā
Can Arabic speakers translate? I can guess the history from context, but who is the last speaker
The Palisades Nuclear Power Plant will need more inspections, testing and repairs on its steam generator, according to a recent report from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Steam generators are the large heat exchangers that transfer heat from the primary coolant system to the main steam system. TheĀ NRCĀ says it has a team of experts evaluating the data and assessing Holtecās plans to correct the conditions.
Earlier this year, the federal government announced aĀ $1.5 billion conditional commitmentĀ to support the reopening of Palisades. The plantās owner, Holtec, announced plans to bring the plant back online after it wasĀ closedĀ for two years, since May of 2022.
Before that, it operated for 50 years. The reopening of Palisades would mark the first restart of a closed nuclear reactor in U.S. History.
Holtec wants to reopen by next August. The NRC will decide if the plant is safe to reopen
Repairs? Replace the damned thing or better yet spend $1.5 billion on an industrial battery plant. But energy moderation and storage isn't as profitable as real time peak gouging crapitalism - especially when it's the tax payer taking on the financial and environmental risks. I don't want to live near this time bomb!
The steam generator is the point of contact between the primary (radioactive) and secondary (nominally non radioactive steam). This is a 50 year old plant that was decomissioned but due to RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA and aggressive nuclear lobbying wrestling $1.5 billion of stolen tax dollars they are going to reopen this corroding rust bucket Fukushima waiting to happen that can potentially contaminate the Great Lakes. Thank you so much fucking Democrats. Real Green Mold Deal ya bastards.
A bit of an upset today in Lokomotiv news, the railwaymen started off with 2 goals in the first 2 periods but Salavat Yulaev rallied and not only scored 2 goals in the third period to tie up the game but won it in overtime, leaving the score at 3-2 in their favor. We'll get 'em next time!
Lokomotiv next plays Severstal Cherepovets on Monday, September 23 at 7:30 Moscow Standard Time.
In front of a crowd that gathered in Tegucigalpa as a gesture of support and rejection to coup attempts, the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, delivered a strong speech in which he stressed the importance of democratic defense and highlighted the achievements of his administration to date.
āWe beat them in the streets and beat them at the polls, and we will defeat them again at the polls,ā proclaimed the president, Emphasizing the popular resistance that has marked its mandate and its determination to maintain the course set by the democratic will of the Honduran people.
Castro invited the working class she represents to defend the Honduran democracy at the time she assured that 2025 presidential elections will āclean and transparentā reaffirming her commitment to electoral legitimacy and citizen participation.
Castro also mentioned that more than one million farmers have received seeds and fertilizers thanks to the technological pole as part of efforts to improve agricultural production and ensure the food supply of rural populations.
About the health and education achievements, she mentioned that more than one million children now have free access to education and numerous health facilities are being repaired across the country.
In this regard, Castro announced the distribution of more than one thousand Scholarships and support to youth to access sports facilities, seeking to strengthen the integral development of new generations in Honduras.
Big if true assuming Kim actually cares about how Korea gained independence from imperial Japan and the fact that I am pretty sure they were on the Soviet side of the sinko Soviet split. Seems little fishy though.
A document has emerged in which former Venezuelan presidential candidate Edmundo GonzƔlez indicates that he abides by the ruling of the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ, which declared @NicolasMaduro the victor of the July 28 election.
In the letter addressed to President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez, Edmundo GonzƔlez says that he does not intend "to exercise any formal or informal representation of the public powers of the Venezuelan State" and will respect Venezuelan institutions.
The document was dated September 7, at the time when Edmundo GonzƔlez had stated his intention to leave Venezuela and had conveyed his intention to request political asylum from Spain. It was that day that he departed, having been granted safe conduct from Venezuela.
The official noted that the Venezuelan government has documented that it was a negotiation between executive vice president Delcy RodrĆguez and the Spanish government.
Article
In an interview with the multiplatform teleSUR, the president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Jorge RodrĆguez, gave details about the letter of recognition of former presidential candidate Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia towards the Venezuelan institutions and the presidential results of last July 28, and stated that the document GonzĆ”lez signed with his own pen.
On signing the letter, Rodriguez noted that (those involved in the process) āwe had committed to keep in reserve the letter of Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia -former opposition candidate for the presidency of Venezuela-ā.
The text marks a milestone from the headline, says RodrĆguez, because āit is not recognizing either the Assembly of GuaidĆ³ or Dinora Figueraā¦ , but recognizes the National Assembly that voted the people of Venezuela last December of 2020ā.
This consensus is based, according to RodrĆguez, on āa request he had made (Urrutia) and the Venezuelan government had no āproblemā in maintaining āin reverse (the) documentā, however, both GonzĆ”lez Urrutia and his lawyer violated that agreement.
The president of the National Assembly says that āfrom within the Venezuelan extreme right, the publication of a kind of transcription of the original letter appearsā.
On the other hand, RodrĆguez explains that only one demand was made in the delivery of the letter, consisting of GonzĆ”lez Urrutia leaving his signature on each sheet, so that it would not be pointed out later that the Venezuelan institutions had altered the content. The senior Venezuelan official also noted that the former candidate himself decided to hand it over to him.
āSome people close to him (Edmundo GonzĆ”lez Urrutia) contacted me and raised the possibility of having some exchanges with Mr GonzĆ”lez Urrutia for his intention to apply for political asylum in the Kingdom of Spainā, Rodriguez underlines referring to the processing of the departure of Edmundo GonzĆ”lez into Spanish soil.
The official states that, in principle, communication was established by means of a telephone call and then also contacted Urrutia directly via a telephone call, The President of the Assembly was asked to meet him on 6 September.
In addition, the official remarked on this line, referring to the political asylum process that the Venezuelan government has fully documented, which was a two-party negotiation: between executive vice president Delcy RodrĆguez and the Spanish government.
The meeting led to Venezuela offering the necessary safe-conduct for the departure of Urrutia, as well as the approval for an aircraft of the Spanish air force to make the trip.
LMAO, the Danish center-right party "The Moderates" has officially begun purging their employees. Wonderful shit coming out of Denmark and our deeply serious Scandinavian Democracytm. As has been described by SoyViking, the party is more or less just a cult of personality around our current foreign minister and former prime minister Lars LĆøkke Rasmussen, who is famous for trying to turn his previous party into a slush fund for his personal expenses.
Rasmussen is also famous for appointing the queen of the far right Inger StĆøjberg to the post as Minister for Foreigners and Integration, which the danes on here rightfully refer to as the Racism Ministry, which put her in charge of our refugee policy, culminating in first Denmarks "Jewelry Law" which let the state confiscate jewelry from brown people who sought asylum here (said law was waived when the Ukrainians came, because obviously the law doesn't actually apply to whites) and also the unconstitutional family separation policy, which ended up getting her impeached and kicked out of parliament back in 2023.
Marches against fuel shortages have been confirmed by Morales and his MAS supporters, who will leave the city of Caracollo in the direction of La Paz.
According to Arce, the mobilization, called by Morales under the pretext of solving the fuel shortage, is actually an attempt to destabilize the popular government.
Alright news thread, someone help Macron-pill me. For the sake of argument, why might what he's doing seem like a good idea, and what has the new Prime Minister said/done to prove he's a ghoul not worthy of trusting from a leftist perspective. I mean, he's like a self-styled conservative, it should be obvious to anyone worth their salt but I want specific policies he's supported and put forth for evidence.
As someone whose phone occasionally heats up, all I can say is that we need to put down the copium. If Israel can do this, so can the CIA. It is highly likely that the age of mass communication is about to functionally end as soon as we reach the societal breakdown stage of late capitalism. As for Lebanon itself, it will likely collapse before Israel does. The zionists likely plan to genocide everyone within the borders of greater israel.
Controversial opinion and doomerism warning: The Axis of Resistance is losing. This communications attack by Israel is a prelude to a major Israeli offensive on Hezbollah. All three of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran should have attacked Israel together at maximal strength late last year. Now they've waited until Hamas is contained, Israel is shifting its focus to Hezbollah (hence this preemptive barrage), while Iran will probably sit around sable-rattling, then once Hezbollah is also contained, Israel will shift its focus to Iran, and Iran will be alone. Israel dealt with having three enemies at once by relying on them not going all in against Israel together at the same time. Israel can win one-on-one battles but not all three at once. Well, it's getting its winnable one-on-one battles because the three are letting it. A major tactical shake-up is needed. They can stretch Israel thin and win decisively, but the window of opportunity to do so is closing.
WARNING: Daily Mail scum source. This video by the daily heil hitler provides some semi-interesting commentary on how Russia failed to capture Kiev in 2022. I cannot comment on the reliability of any of the information presented but it gives the impression which many pro-Russian milbloggers agree with, that the initial Russian attack was a bit of a clusterfuck; after capturing Hostemel Airport outside Kiev, the Russians failed to get reinforcements there first. Of course with the way things are going I still think Russia is going to win, but I don't know much about the beginning of the SMO since there was so much fog of war. The video has a bunch of lib brainworm shit in the second half.
If Iran and Hezbollah don't attack Israel in the next few hours, they will have essentially surrendered. What just happened in Lebanon is the greatest terrorist attack of all time. Now we know why no one has cell phones in sci fi.
