She like... barely talks about Twilight, so far it's been 90% her pseudo-intellectual musing on romance. Which granted she's pretty good at pseudo-intellectual musing, I've def listened to less interesting pseudo-intellectual musings, but it is just musings.

Honestly, like most long video essays there's some interesting tidbits of info but you have to Wade through a lot of unnecessary bs to get to it.

Very few people make a tight video over 30 minutes. It's almost always full of ramblings, distractions, or jokes. And the longer the video, the better those things need to be to keep me onboard.

I sure as hell am not going to watch it, but there is something that wiggles at the back of my brain that wonders how glaring and rank her increasing lib-ness has become now. From what you say, it sounds like it's just another run-of-the-mill lib-leaning (and overlong) video essay.
- Honestly here analysis isn't bad when she's talking about media stuff, I'd argue she's even half decent at historical research. I'll admit I actually thought her video before this one was pretty good. But you kinda have to view each of them in a vacuum to enjoy them.

Idk it seems like a very uncharitable way to interpret what she said. I get she's not a real leftist and she's got wrong ideas, but she's not actively trying to hurt people. Non-antagonistic contra-dictions

I think that's fair, maybe if it is longer having 'chapters' and other ways to organize information topically would be best.
I do listen to or watch academic seminars and lectures, do you think the same criticisms apply? I have a sense it does for some of the humanities one's I've attended or watched, though much of that may be because I have no background and no idea what is being talked about.
- a lot of the time technical or academic lectures are just recordings of a livestream or zoom call so I think based on that I go in with different expectations. I guess in my mind a lecture is different than "youtuber talking at you for money"

And obviously the interminable EROS segment is one of those "tell me you've never had a healthy relationship without telling me" things that comes up so often when people try to be intellectual. A happy, stable relationship isn't terribly dramatic in itself, it's as simple as that! She joins the ranks of people like Camus who make the mistake of looking everywhere for a human other to affirm them except for actual, literal other humans. It's just so tiring, and it's stated like it's unassailable truth.

And more discourse on penetration being inherently patriarchal. Maybe it's patriarchy coloring your perception of penetration, likening it to power for the sake of its own interests? Contra just can't step out of a paradigm to save her life, so question-begging a schema for a subject that she doesn't really have one for means she is convinced of an eternal truth.
