Back in April, Sega Sammy announced that it will acquire Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment for 706 million Euros (about $776 million) to help with its expansion in the mobile market. Today, Sega has confirmed that the acquisition is complete and Rovio has joined Sega Group.
They went from '1 dollar to get the full game', with starwars deals and so on to 'generic p2w for whales'.
The innovation wasn't here anymore and they shot themselves in the foot with dumb pricing/gameplay.
It's still popular with some young kids, my son still plays the series and loves the movies. You just don't see everyone and their grandma playing it anymore.
I mean, I don't play pachinko, but I think it'd be more fun if the balls had the birds on them and you knocked some piggies down as you bounced down the machine or at least knocked them down at the bottom depending on where you landed.
