Ukraine delegation to Gomel had no authority to discuss with the Russia delegation but to ask for a cease-fire and the withdrawal of the Russian forces. Russia considered it a waste of time and will continue its military campaign until reaching its objectives.
Seems like talks have broken down, no ceasefire.
- Not so much broken down as never engaged with in good faith by Zelensky's lot anyway.

  It's completely cynical theater except they're not even remotely trying or good at it.
  
  Like a Civilization AI coming to you with a peace offering right after a war starts when their initial offensive completely buckles and they're like "Yeah I bet you're real scared now hand over half your sovereign lands and 30% of your entire economy for a hundred years or I will continue my great war front"

  I was slightly sympathetic to Zelensky when he tried to defuse the situation last month, but the fool has burned all of it and is actively doing fascistic displays of martyrdom, endangering millions of lives. Fuck him.
