I agree, they're small groups of asshats but they're loud and effective groups of asshats. Take kiwifarms for example; despite being a pretty small community, they can inflict a lot of damage to a lot of people in short periods of time.
I'll throw in my two cents; Whitelight.
His bio describes his channel perfectly, "the dark souls of game media."
Goes super in depth reviewing games, such as how they're structured, and somehow keeps me entertained throughout
Not sure if this will help, but find my device on F-Droid is awesome. You can use generic SMS and send "fmd locate" or you can use third party apps such as signal. This makes it so it'll only trigger whenever you receive that text message rather it running 24/7
It allows you to setup a trusted set of contacts who can then send you a text message "fmd locate", and it'll reply with an openstreetmaps link showing where you are. It's not real time tho
And you can disable it simply by turning off your location
They are still actively doing this today.
Here 8 months later just to tell you you're right
take care
I was able to speak to my friends I haven't spoken to in years
pro tip for anyone who wants to read books but doesn't have access to a library
https://annas-archive.org is the largest library on the internet, 100% free
Koodo Reader is a eBook reader for PC
Librera is another eBook reader but for Android
everything linked is completely FOSS
you mean to tell me you don't want to spend $12.99 to be patrick star in discord?? whats wrong with you man
you're acting like ubisoft doesn't actively try to incentive this and push subscription services with overpriced game "editions"
The announcement of the game left an extremely bad impression too, because the game was $60 or $70 but didn't include all the content, there were three other tiers or "editions" you could buy, the last option being the $8 subscription service that had a shiny blue border around it and included all the content.
you seem to be 300x more knowledgeable than the suits that run these companies
I originally used the 5 year one but I thought it wouldn't be as "accurate" to their most recent disasters
No. Do you prefer subscription services?
Calling unions “legacy institutions” is a dangerous take
When I was 13 and still watching LTT I had an extremely old dell optiplex with a 3rd or 4th gen i7 that was really starting to slow down on Windows; I just thought it was old hardware (partially true) but then LTT released a video about Pop_OS and was like "oo what's Linux" and just deleted Windows and installed it. Never looked back! Everything was super snappy and I was really shocked.
The Apex Legends hacking situation was unrelated to the anti-cheat despite initial reports
you're right, thanks for the clarification! https://inv.tux.pizza/watch?v=lzW4SDm0yWM
Apex Legends and Genshin Impact being a good example of this.
if I respect the artist and their work and they give me the option to, I almost always do. (even if I still use the pirated version for convenience). they almost always have a CD available on their website and they look pretty cool together displayed on a shelf
I almost never purchase a piece of media if they only allow me to buy a license for it, so I have a lot of respect for the people who give me the option to actually pay for it and own it and will support them for that
don't forget to leave a star if you found the software useful
Some people don't care enough to try and understand

Just got an amazing deal for these three and wondering where I should start!
I've seen a lot of posts here on Lemmy, specifically in the "fuck cars" communities as to how Electric Vehicles do pretty much nothing for the Climate, but I continue to see Climate activists everywhere try pushing so, so hard for Electric Vehicles.
Are they actually beneficial to the planet other than limiting exhaust, or is that it? or maybe exhaust is a way bigger problem?
Recently a game called "The Finals" has released and after their beta was over they stopped supporting Linux, and a lot of people are clearly pissed and have sparked a ton of debates within their Discord server but I constantly and constantly see an argument brought up by Windows users in the community saying that they dont want Linux support and argue that enabling Linux support is only going to add more cheaters into the game. (as its a pretty big problem right now even though they're using EAC.)
I don't believe it, I haven't seen any proof of it, but I wanted to ask you guys what your thoughts are on it. And, if you have some sort of source proving whether or not this is the case, please do share.
