Tesserect Added to the List of Support Frontends After Server Upgrade
I find the frontend very useful as it has the media bias check indicator on shared articles and allows you to see how many elements of each category exists in the Lemmy search UI. Not to mention the troll buster feature where egregious trolls can be banned from all the moderated communities of a user.
View Community List From Instance Detail Tab
It would be helpful if we could view a list of communities from instance detail tab, not a local view of threads like when you look at an instance from a guest account, but a list like when you search.
Community Management for Moderators on "Connect for Lemmy"
Proposed Features:
- Ability for Moderators to Edit Communities:
It would be incredibly useful if moderators could perform administrative tasks for the communities they manage directly from the Connect for Lemmy app. This could include:
- Editing community information (e.g., sidebar text, community rules, descriptions, etc.).
- Managing community settings (visibility, posting rules, allowed content types, etc.).
- Deleting or archiving a community if necessary.
Other third-party apps, such as Summit for Lemmy, have implemented similar functionality, and it would be great to see Connect for Lemmy adopt this feature as well. This would streamline the moderation process and eliminate the need to switch to a desktop or web browser for these administrative tasks, similar to when Reddit allowed Mods/users to manage their subreddits via the Reddit App.
- Ability to Create Communities from the App: Adding the ability for users to create new communities
Apply list formatting to selected/pasted text
Currently, selecting a block of text, then applying list formatting (either ordered or unordered) replaces the text with an empty list. Starting a list, then pasting text, puts all of the text under the current entry in the list.
Ideally, it would apply the list formatting to existing text based on line breaks, and respect line breaks in pasted text to extend an existing list.
On iOS, not sure if this applies on android/web app.
Hide duplicate posts I've already read
This is an idea I've had for a while now. Please let me know in the comments your thoughts on this feature.
This is my own feature request. I think the more I use Lemmy the more I find myself ignoring posts I've already read on a separate instance. In theory it doesn't sound like a bad idea to check out the same post from different instances since they have different comments however in practice this is rarely useful. I think a feature that essentially remembers the last ~100 posts you've read/hidden and then automatically filters out any new posts loaded with the same content would be cool.
Specifics:
- Create a "cache" that remembers the last 100-1000 posts that are either read or hidden. This cache is per post feed. It can remember posts based on the title + maybe the first 100 characters of the post body + url (but not image urls since these can differ based on which instance the image is uploaded to). We can exclude any post with a title less than 25 characters and no body.
Ability to swipe gesture to hide entire posts from feed.
I’ve seen this only done successfully on Voyager and then like Apollo but would rock to be on main feed and swipe the bad suggested posts away via hide.
collapse thread as a swipe action
Is it possible to please add a swipe action to collapse a whole comments thread up to a top most parent? This would really improve the comment section experience. Thank you!
Ability to hide posts older than configured time
Hi there, just want to say that I really like Arctic, and thank you for all of your hard work!
I was wondering if would be possible to hide older posts of a community. Right now, I currently enable marking posts as read on scroll, and when I reach the oldest posts I know I’ve caught up with everything. It would be cool if I could hide these older posts under a “Load older posts” button or similar.
Thanks again for your continued development of this awesome client for Lemmy!
"Mute" Community (?)
I have some communities I am subscribed to that are automated, and consequently become very spammy in the home feed, but I still want to view and engage with their content. It would be nice if there was a "mute" feature distinct from blocking that would allow hiding posts in a a community from the home feed but still allowing subscribing, since blocking unsubscribes you.
Add in app playback for loops.video content
See title. In app playback for loops content (ala the in app YouTube player) would be fantastic.
Example post: https://midwest.social/post/20018226
Set custom colors for posts/links that have been opened (Update: It already exists 🤦♀️)
I sometimes find it hard to tell at a glance if a post I'm looking at is one I have clicked on since they are just a slightly lighter grey than posts I haven't clicked on. Being able to set it to whatever color I would like would be very helpful.
Open NSFW post links in incognito tabs
When coming from an NSFW post, both the post links and any links in comments should open in an incognito tab by default, instead of a regular tab. This is the main reason I currently use the (pretty broken) internal browser ATM.
I believe there is an intent to handle this, see https://conn.dev/chrome-incognito.html (which also seems to work for other browsers).
Option to hide post/comment scores
Votes attract votes. Users feel more inclined to follow the positive or negative trend when voting. If given the option to hide vote scores it would give users the ability to vote without being influenced by how everyone else has voted, and maybe have an effect on what posts rise to the top.
If you want to get fancy it could have the option to show scores of things that a user has already voted on.
allow downvoting on instances where it is otherwise disabled
that way the user score tracker works fully even for us :3
The ability to play Loops videos directly in the app
It's a fediverse short video sharing platform, and direct support would be nice to have :)
I'm hoping it will also be easy enough to implement?
Share link to post / comment using instance of choice
Hi, loving the app!
Something I hope could be added as a feature would be the ability to set an instance to use as the base for all link creation. As an example, I would like to always share Lemmy.world links when I’m sending links to posts to my friends. Currently, the share button shares the canonical link to wherever the OP’s home instance is.
There is a web app called Lemmyverse.link that will create Lemmy.world links from any Lemmy link, but it would be extremely convenient if this functionality were built into Voyager.
Ideally this could be added as a feature to Lemmy, but in the meantime, I’m hoping it could be added to Voyager!
Inbox Notifications for Mod Queue
It would be nice if notfications about new reports in the mod queue would be displayed in the inbox.
Right now I have to check the mod queue manually to see if there are new reports. This could lead to delays in moderating reported content.
Background app refresh
When I put my iPhone down for a bit and come back to Voyager, the app resets back to the top of the feed. I then have to scroll so far down to find the place I was at.
My iPhone settings does not show Voyager app in the background app refresh settings.
I believe this setting would keep the feed in the same place when I bring the app back.
Presets For User Tags
Please add presets to user tags so that it may be easier to tag the specific users as typing and colour selecting each time takes a little extra effort.
I love the feature as it makes easier to track interesting characters and alts. Lemmy needs user tags more than Reddit ever did.
Show Additional Images in Gallery
Create an option where, if enabled, a post that has images linked in the text body aren't rendered and instead show up in a gallery like in reddit galleries in boost for reddit
