In the latest Thunderbird for Android update, we discuss bug fixes, F-Droid, Push permissions, Material 3, Android 14 and a two-app future.
I missed the news that K-9 was becoming Thunderbird for Android. I used to use it before switching to FairEmail, I think because development had stalled. It's a solid choice, hopefully they don't add too much in like they have with the desktop version.
9 0 ReplyIt's just a rebrand, but I've used Thunderbird for so long and gotten so used to the icon aesthetics, it's awesome to see it come together finally.

I wonder how this compares to the Protonmail app. I use Thunderbird on desktop, might check this out if I have time.

But for sure Protonmail does some fancy encryption, PGP is not nice to use
1 0 ReplyOn Windows, Thunderbird requires the Protonmail Bridge application, it's pretty easy to setup. I wonder if this is even possible on Android.
