It may be a long shot, but with Abortion AND Cannabis both on the ballot, it's a very distinct possibility
I want to be hopeful, but on the other hand I am considering the possibility that the inverse might occur: if there were complacent conservatives who would otherwise have stayed home because they were confident that the MAGA candidates would safely win, but instead decide to show up anyways because Jesus told them they have important rights to destroy.

Aren't there loads of cases of removing voters from being able to vote? Further, dividing areas of voters in such a way that it isn't about getting the majority of the votes.

This turn to the hard right is a recent thing. America is not sending us their best. I grew up with Walkin' Lawton Childs, Askew and Graham did good things for the state before him, it was a mix of everyone and still is where I am. So eventually maybe Florida works it's way into these people's kids and we go back to purple.
But this year? Next year? I don't have much hope for that. Thought we couldn't do worse than Rick Scott, what a piece of work shyster he is, literal criminal who defrauded the government working now in government. DeSantis has him beat I think in actual harm to the people of the state, though.
I hope so, but I doubt it. Not because we don't have the votes to turn it blue mind you. We do, but the state government is so corrupted at this point that a fair election is impossible.
Nothing brings conservatives to the polls harder than there being important ballot measures to quash. Marijuana and abortion are both on the ballot. Every single conservative in Florida is going to make sure to show up for this one.
They still failed to defeat the marijuana and the abortion ballot measure in Ohio so hopefully that will happen again in Florida.

No, it clearly did not, or we would be on a very different trajectory as a nation right now.
I understand that after all the recounts were in that Gore actually won. But that didn’t matter, because the establishment lied and cheated to keep Gore out and let W in, whom they knew would cater much more to their interests. The FL state politicians, the corrupt news media, and the Supreme Court all colluded to just give the election to W even though he lost.
Are you seriously claiming that there is a lower probability of such cheating taking place in the current era? Do you think our institutions are now better prepared to ward off this type of foul play? If so, I think you’re delusional.
To me, this is further intentional torpedoing of his own campaign by Biden. Just more proof that he’s a terrible political strategist at best, or at worst is actively trying to lose so they can fundraise off the cheetolini for four more years.
I don't see the dems using abortion to bring out votes if it's not a referendum.
Given that they let this happen by not codifying roe and let it continue to happen by not taking effective action such as cutting off states funding that ban abortion or requiring military hospitals provide abortion care, they cannot credibly say they will protect abortion.
That would change if we saw them using every tool at their disposal, but we don't.
Then you haven't been paying attention. Republicans are on track to lose their house majority before the election even occurs, because the special elections are being won in red states by Democrats campaigning on abortion rights.

The bad thing isn't caused by the one doing bad things, it's by others not doing enough to stop them. Interesting way to argue and to ignore responsibility.
The argument that the dems are making is "vote for me and I'll protect abortion rights".
We voted for them, they didn't protect abortion rights.
But also, choosing not to stop something bad from happening makes you complicit.
This isn't an argument that pro-choice voters should vote for republicans, this is an argument that the dems need to do something if they want pro-choice people to vote for them.
Same thing with the genocide in Palestine; Dems cannot run as the anti-genocide party while supplying the tools to carry out the genocide. If they stopped sending weapons to Israel and used every tool at their disposal to protect abortion rights, then they could credibly say "vote for us, we'll protect abortion rights and stop Israel".
I don't know if there's a special "referendum" reason you have, but putting abortion rights before viability into the state Constitution is on the ballot as of 4 days ago.
The potential amendment says that, with exceptions for parental notification of minors who get abortions, "no law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient's health, as determined by the patient's healthcare provider."
The court ruled on Monday, 4-3, that "we approve the proposed amendment for placement on the ballot."
Viability for a fetus is typically around 24 weeks into pregnancy.
That means the ballot measure, if enacted, would undo the state's current abortion restrictions. The Florida Supreme Court separately on Monday upheld a 15-week ban and paved the way for a six-week ban, with exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, to take effect.
Putting abortion rights in as a federal law isn’t stronger than having it as a constitutionally protected right. There are multiple times when the republicans held both chambers to the degree that they could have passed a law that counteracted an abortion rights law. They couldn’t do so because the right was found to be constitutionally protected.
The strongest protection would have been to have the constitutional protection on the broad right and then federal laws establishing individual guidelines ensuring that there wasn’t variability between the states. But simply having a federal law wouldn’t have ensured abortion rights - anything passed by one Congress can be undone by the next.
The mistake was not voting for Hillary in 2016. Anyone who did not vote for her was implicitly saying they don’t care if abortion rights are taken away. I was (and am) a Bernie supporter, and I have been since before he hit the Senate. I still voted for her, even though I’m in one of the bluest districts in a blue state.

The big mistake was Hillary running a dogshit campaign of "America is already great" and not offering enough to make it worth missing a day's pay to go out and vote. It's not the voter's duty to vote democrat, it's the democrat's job to get elected.
If you're talking about the courts, the dems could have packed them. If people saw them fighting and actually affecting their material conditions, the dems wouldn't have lost in 2022.
