who else is just fucking tired of Woke vs Not Woke debates?

Every time there is a new game coming out. I go into Social media and what I see is "this game is woke because two dudes are kissing and there is a black protagonists, delete and refund" There are so many people that seem to care about it that I start to wonder if I am the insane one?

like Do these people genuinely believe that artists will stop being political and talk about their beliefs just because you said you don't like it? or that games will stop being "woke" because like, 3 games flopped for reasons OTHER THAN it was "woke"

Let's ignore the story quality, graphical fidelity, optimization, gameplay quality, etc.. Oh, no! The only reason why this succeeded is because that character has a fat ass! The reason for why that game has failed is because this character said they were non-binary!

like, Just how are people are not tired of this shit? This debate is about as deep as a puddle, has no consequence on real life, and the roots of this debate is based on ignorance and assumptions.

Hell, I got told that the Oblivion remaster was great and "not woke" because it sold more on Steam than AC Shadows Shadows and Dragon Age Veilguard

But also that Oblivion is "woke" for removing male and female and replacing it with Body Type 1/2

I've just started blocking the woke-o-sphere warriors on steam. If you try to engage even on good faith, they will report you and try to get you banned. Got a warning from valves defending queers against anti woke idiots once. So I just block the assholes on sight now.
I do have a feeling once the reich wears out woke like they did SJW will find a new term.

The word in itself is pretty meaningless. They use it to refer to anything they consider left wing, but using "woke" instead of "left-wing" gives it an air of illegetimacy, like something newly made up. Like, they wouldn't say that the BPP was woke, but might consider that a movie about them is. You could say the meanings are different because "woke" is more about culture, not about economy or revolt against physical conditions... But that's the point, they try to reduce politics to only "culture wars". Because making up narratives around that is easier to them than having a class analysis.

Keep in mind the people who are ranting about these "woke" games online on every single steam forum do so because they have nothing better to do. Instead of playing fun games, they'd rather jump at shadows and complain, instead of contributing to society, they'd rather be pathetic sad sacks with no friends because they are so repulsive. They spend all their time complaining, which creates the illusion that there are a lot of people complaining, when it is a small group that is just very vocal with too much time on their hands.

there used to be other terms relating to specific things. reverse racism and white genocide, cultural marxism, LGBTQ propaganda, gender ideology, removed. but then the right decided to adopt intersectionality and decided to be bigoted against all minorities at the same time. this has the added benefit of not "excluding" someone if they belong to only one of the categories they hate while spreading hate against everyone they deem undesirable.
their first attempt was SJW which worked great in 2016-2017 era but 1. it's an unwieldy three letter acronym 2. it sounds like jew. also the breadtube popularity in the subsequent years helped killing off the phrase. after breadtube creators either fell off or decided to only make artsy fartsy videos once a year they clapped back with woke and DEI.
one other thing woke and DEI have going for them is that they tie to this false notion of meritocracy which is unfortunately broadly popular. on the other hand SJW is relating to a specific stereotype of "blue haired feminist raging in tumblr" which most people really don't care about.

i think a cultural rebound is coming.
this "anti-wokism" can't have absolute power, basically being The State, and still be this edgy subversive shit at the same time.
At the same time, they do currently control the algos and armies of convincing chatbots so people might just increasingly check out of this nonsense but there will be the illusion of massive engagement
so definitely uncharted territory. we are truly in the era of Unreality
- this "anti-wokism" can't have absolute power, basically being The State, and still be this edgy subversive shit at the same time.
  This reminds me of one of the things I find most annoying about CHUDs: they portray themselves as rebels smashing the system when they are, in fact, the system.

try not to get too down about them. i do too but then i remind myself these people are a vocal minority. all the games they cry “go woke and go broke” actually sell a lot of copies most times in real life
these people are just losers really. i just went to torrent cyberpunk 2077 like 20 mins ago and someone was in the comments calling the game “woke DEI garbage”. imagine how big of a loser someone has to be to click on a game on a torrent website they have no intention to download just to argue about “woke”. how worthless is that person’s time to themselves?

Its the old new word. DEI will replace it. Before that was SJW, Soy and Femi-nazi or whatever.

Since hiring veterans is DEI, I think that means any game with soldiers is woke. 😞

I'm just tired of hearing from westerners in general.
- The culture is spread throughout the world. Sadly even if you eliminated the west, that rhetoric is very much alive everywhere else.
- The views aren't limited to the West, even if they originate from the West. In a gaming community I moderate, the first person to bring up DEI was a user from Bangladesh. On Wikidata, the person to mark games as not recommended by a certain Steam curator run by a Brazilian was a Russian.

i am not american or on capitalist social media, but it's my impression the group harping on about this stuff is essentially still a very loud, fringe minority. it's not really gaining traction or affecting game sales or anything. i think you can safely just tune it out (or better, stop going on reddit).
