Cory Booker sets a record with marathon Senate speech. Will it rally anti-Trump resistance?

This is what we need from leadership. I hope this sparks sonething bigger than what mere constituents can accomplish alone. The show of support alone is refreshing after all the silence.

- Booker really seems to be the real deal. From everything in his time in local politics to the Federal level. I would love to see someone more like him in leadership than Schumer.

If anti-Trump resistance hasn't been rallied yet, I don't think this is going to do it.

And the moment he was done running his mouth, he voted to confirm Trump's NATO ambassador pick. Democrats run their mouths to try to raise money for their party. They don't care about America or the working class. They just want campaign donations.

- Schumer ran interference. I love to complain about unapologetic, no fooling, Torah-justifying Zionist "centrists" as much as the next guy but he did at least part of his job here.

Both republican records were for suppressing equality and human rights.
And the Stockholm syndrome has people brainwashed into voting for R's.

Republicans now trying to recruit David Blaine or the Mind Freak guy to run for Senate. Sources are hearing rumors that Wim Hoff is being offered a “Gold Card” citizenship, despite recent abuse allegations. Hoff is unavailable for comment as he’s currently climbing K2 naked.

It’s a nice gesture but we’re far past the time for nice gestures. We’re quickly approaching a dictatorship. Talking in the senate is not enough, and it won’t be rallying anyone that hasn’t been rallied already. Revolutionary action is required for a true anti-fascist resistance.
- One of the ways you sleep walk into a dictatorship is by "complying in advance". We may be on our way to a dictatorship but there's no need to roll out the carpet for it. Booker is doing a good thing by using his platform while he still has one.
  There may be no way out of this without violence and bloodshed, but that doesn't make non-violent, more conventional forms of resistance useless. They work as force multipliers. I support Booker and I also don't think the Tesla takedown people are terrorists.
  
  I agree that we shouldn’t accept it, I just don’t think doing anything within the system matters at this point, hence my emphasis on revolutionary action. There’s peaceful action that is outside of the system and directly against it that would be better right now than anything that can be realistically done from within. If we take out the “realistically” part there’s a fuck ton more the Democrats could be doing to combat our imminent collapse. A decent gesture by one man of the massive group complicit in establishing a dictatorship simply falls on deaf ears.
