After an argumentative meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump in the White House, European leaders quickly showed continued support for the Ukrainian leader. The next challenge will be how they deal with the US president.

Let's say Russia invaded and occupied Alaska. The US tried to get them out but couldn't. After valiant fighting for years they turn to the international community for help. The EU accuse America of starting the war and start directly negotiating with Russia without the US at the table. The rest of the world says you need to sign this deal to give us your resources but we won't guarantee your security in return but as part of the deal to end the war swiftly you need to let Russia have Alaska. The US says that is unacceptable and the rest of the world says that they are being disrespectful and don't really want peace.
- Let’s say someone flew passenger airplanes into US office buildings, and all western allies are eager to help - even when US lies about who is involved in the attack. No, wait…

Look at that f u c k i n g fireplace mantel; that used to have class to it's decor. Every administration took pride in giving the Oval Office their touch. Look at Jimmy Carter's office:
Carter had a clean, understated look. Obama and Biden took a lot of inspiration from the Carter administration.
Now our national office looks like it was decorated by a 12 year old boy still clinging onto all of his T-ball participation trophies he "won" over half a decade ago.
Before you say anything, yes, I know this is such a non-issue in the face of all the actual issues being engineered by this technocratic regime, but... I'm tired, boss. I've been screaming about this for years and now the only energy I have left is to pedantically nit-pick the decor choices of US federal administrations. Life is... non-ideal.

- Nah, you got Hungary too. All the fash.
- Giorgia Meloni is trying to position herself as a mediator between America and Europe, which honestly I think is a fool's errand, but it is in line with her Atlanticist foreign policy.
  I would have personally preferred a real, firm, statement towards Ukraine's support but until we'll have people like Salvini - a Putin's lover - and his 'Lega Nord' party in the government it is infeasible to expect it.
  At the same time FdI (Meloni's party) has historically been pretty pro-ukraine, so I will be very surprised if something is not going to happen in the next few days.
  Remember that this quote is from Crosetto, the current Minister of Defence, just a few days ago: "Peace, however, must not mean humiliating a free people who have done nothing but die and sacrifice to defend themselves."
  I'm not in line with their national policies - by a wide margin - but currently Meloni's party and the Partito Democratico are the only pro-ukraine voices in Italian politics with some weight

Good. The rest of our traditional allies must remain united and in lockstep with Ukraine.
Trump under the direction of Putin is clearly attempting to fracture the Western alliances in order to gain relative strength. It seems most of these countries recognize the game being played and aren't taking the bait thankfully.
I'll feel much better if Canadian elections go well.
