The big difference between SpaceX and Tesla is that SpaceX has to perform to NASA technical and safety requirements. They can't just shit out crap hardware because the asshole-in-chief wanted to play automotive engineer. SpaceX has to make stuff that actually works. It also helps that there's someone competent running things day-to-day there instead of the aforementioned asshole-in-chief.

I find it weird this story hasn't been getting more media attention, you think two astronauts being stranded in space would be BIG news but everyone is just sharing coconut memes.
They've never been "stranded" it was just who was going to bring them back that was in question. The media got called out on using that for sensationalist headlines at one point and I think that's when they dropped it.
Yeah, if my car breaks down in the parking lot at work, I'm not stranded, I just have to get someone to give me a ride home.
To be fair, this is not routine. Congress literally had to authorize a bill for SpaceX to participate in an “emergency” operation a couple weeks back, suggesting that taking a ride home with an alternative spacecraft was not part of the initial plan.
Technically, they can become “stranded” if such an emergency bill was not moved forward in the legislature.

No, with all seriousness it's not privatising enough of it in capitalist countries that is dangerous. Private space exploration without govt funds would be unprofitable and therefore not exist, leaving the space for communists.

Boeing released a statement outlining how the mission hasn't been a complete failure and mission objectives are still being completed:
"We'll send them cheesy movies, the worst we can find, they'll have to sit and watch them all and we'll monitor their minds. Now keep in mind they can't control when the movies begin or end, because we cut those corners too and needs parts we didn't send."
