One of the arduinos can be used as a usb-hid. Check hackaday or instructables and you'll find a bunch of easy keyboard like projects. I looked it into it a while back for a stroke PT glove but never pulled the trigger on it.

So, my style is dramatically less busy/eye bleed than yours, but I would go with the original two path meme showing smaller project2025s on each side and then put a small Crowder change my mind cut out on the side of the road before the fork.
