Ok so like - I don't wanna go full lib brain here, but on the subject of weapons - we know the US has DARPA working on military tech we haven't seen yet.

Yes. Occasionally we get weird propaganda pieces about the things used to test them. One of them I saw was especially stupid and basically a “the chinese are trying to make it look like they have fake american cities but you can only see them from the air”
And I read that and was like “you stupid motherfuckers they’re training their bombers lmfao”

The best one for me is the Chinese Havana Syndrome gun that allegedly made an F35 crash off a US carrier.
Either the US is spinning bullshit to cover for its own incompetence, or China has a long range weapon that can easily cripple the US airforce and navy.
In either case, lol.

Ahh now that I look back at it, that claim was an unverified Twitter "inside sources say" kinda deal and given all the Twitter disinformation recently, I should have posted it.
Still, it did happen around the same time the US was talking up Havana Syndrome, so that's probably why it seemed plausible to me at the time.

That's almost certainly the case. A few more scattered thoughts of mine:
- The US accuses China of mass cyber espionage to the extent that China can reverse top secret stealth fighter tech for the F22 and F35. Whatever DARPA is working on, there's s reasonable chance China knows about it, or even has some of the plans for it.
- The recent Chinese hypersonic vehicle China launched that took the US by surprise was said by the Chinese government to simply be a space program test, not a weapons test. Given that China has made no secret of its hypersonic weapons program, I read that statement to mean that China has an even more advanced weaponized version in the oven.
- Historically, most major wars are won by proven weapons that can be put into use in numbers. Secret Wunferwaffles tend to be expensive embarrassments. Of course, this applies equally to the US, China, and Russia.

China knows the country still has enemy intelligence agents in it even though they've caught and executed so many that the CIA has publicly complained about how hard it is to find spies there now.
