I had this wild thought earlier today: We literally will never know how many troops died in this war.
Russia has been painted as always lying in the media. Nobody will believe a number they give no matter how accurate it is. If they give too high a number, the libs will say it's sympathy bait. If it's too low, the libs will dismiss it as propaganda.
The Ukranians, on the other hand, have a vested interest in lying and will likely print a massively inflated figure of enemy deaths and a massively lowered count of their own deaths, to make it look like they bodied Russia. Nobody will question these figures of course, and to do so would make one a pariah.
Pretty fucken grim.

Always and forever the most pertinent quote, not just about leftism or communism but about nation state hostility

Which is already happening, IMO. According to OSINT Twitter, Russia has already lost more soldiers in 4 days than all of the Coalition's KIAs in 20 years of the Afghanistan War, yet Ukraine hasn't lost so much as an entire company apparently. As the invading force Russia would obviously see higher losses, but I am somewhat skeptical about this conflict being so one-sided thus far.
The same country currently begging for foreign mercenaries and arms has supposedly taken down over 600 tanks and vehicles (100+ tanks, 500+ vehicles), over 4,000 enemy troops, and something like what, 50 aircraft? To only a hundred or two losses on the Ukranian side.
Now I'm no general, but I'd assume that if you're getting... what is that, 40:1 ratio? Then you may not need to beg for this much additional aid. It should only take about 10,000 Ukranian troops dying to kill off the entire active personnel of the Russian armed forces. Should be easy for an army with 250k active personnel.
Unless maybe they're lying, but who would do that?

Reminds me of how Nazi tank commanders would just lie about their individual success on after action reports. So you'd have scenarios where, individually, an entire Panzer division would have incredible success, but still lose the battle
They are already falsifying TASS website with screenshots that support Ukrainian numbers but apparently "it got deleted and that's why you can't find it" lmao
the new york times let slip that a field hospital in ukraine has already seen more than 400 casualties this week, a number that's higher than the official ukraine MoD toll by 50

How can an army that managed to seige Kiev in a matter of days be losing lol, it's so detached from reality it's fucking hilarious
