The eyes of stanley pain

  • Dude. I was talking to my friend about this.

He's going to see ministry... But they're doing their before they were ministry album tour.

It's insane these guys released what they did ater this. They shaped a generation of music and style.

And basically formed my political foundations as an early teen in the early 90s when I opened up the CD liner notes and read the lyrics to tin omen.

Got to see them perform as Download along with tear garden once.

Which was a bit funny - I've never been a follower of any "scene" - so we get to the show and everyone is all blacked hair and makeup and trenchcoats and I'm wearing this super shiny bright green polo shirt and a suede leather 3/4 length trenchcoat and a toque. And they were looking at me like I was the weird one. (I was. Still am)

    God I miss those days.

Anyway. Thanks for the excuse to post something from Stanley park.

  • If there is an afterlife, I hope his eternity is as a female disabled minority lgbt poor slave and the devil fucks him daily and he is forced to give birth to himself - dying in labor. Remembering each time. And not just remembering, but reliving the suffering of the millions he joyfully decided should suffer.

  • Oddly, I've never read Fahrenheit 451.

Read the speech. Spot on. And i love the writing style. Found the pace of my internal audio sped up and down with the way he spoke. Reminded me of Harrison bergeron in a way.

    Will definitely read the book.

    Yep.

I've said it before and I'll say it again (it almost seems obvious, if not completely insane):

All the media we have been presented in our lives, has been propaganda and prophecy.

Behavior modifications and warnings and desensitization of what the future was to be, now is.

Some of it dumbed down the masses and washed their minds free of thought - hello marvel cinematic universe, fast and furious, reality TV, Facebook, idiocracy, etc

Some sent signals through the fray - Vonnegut, Bradbury, pkdick, Asimov, Huxley, Orwell, idiocracy, etc. But especially SciFi/speculative fiction writers.

On the whole, it seems all the dystopian futures have merged.

I sometimes half jokingly comment to myself 'I wish people would stop writing our future like this. Maybe someone could write us a happy future."

Or maybe it's our collective consciousness fulfilling its collectively accepted belief that the future can only be what we've been exposed to.

    After all,

"One hundred repetitions three nights a week for four years."

Thought Bernard Marx, who was a specialist on hypnopædia.

"Sixty-two thousand four hundred repetitions make one truth."

  • "I’ve heard over and over the word 'elite' being used. I think sometime that that term gets overused. But if you’re familiar with our Special Enforcement Bureau, they’re the best of the best," Luna said.

Well, it isn't going to be overused anymore.

  • The deportation of democrats and lefties and undesirables and the deaths of those cut off medicaid/care and starving kids, oh, yeah, and the nuclear war.

Back of the mind worry/conspiracy theory:

You really thing trump suddenly changed his mind about putin after 40 years? Trump arms Ukraine, Putin gets mad, nukes a blue state trump fulfills his promise "blue states will disappear from the map", Q gets their great solar flash of 2025, and welcome to hell.

  • Breaking news:

    We got nothing.

While there are thousands of worthwhile scandals, corruption, evil, and actually important stories to cover, we'll just give you a blank stare until you're lulled to sleep so you don't panic because you really should be fucking panicking.

  • Second Sons spun out of Diagolon, which the RCMP has labelled an “extremist, militia-like organization.”

CBC reached out to Second Sons via the group’s email address and received a response from Morgan Guptill, partner of Diagolon founder Jeremy MacKenzie. Guptill's email signature referred to her as “Queen of Diagolon.” She said she does not speak on behalf of Second Sons.

    Well....wouldn't ya know

  • See, you've already lost your sense of humour.

Look, each of our govs are all responsible for a genocide or two.

trump is an Antichrist / beast of the Apocalypse.

    Xi is the 3rd horseman.

They both want to know what kind of porn you watch.

They're equally re/oppressive, vile, power mad, and have bad hair.

If all you care about it economic prosperity.... I have some bad news for your core tenets.

  • How bout we just do what's right and good and not sacrifice our humanity, decency, privacy, and sovereignty.

People who always want more are the reason many people don't have enough.

    China is an economic answer.

It is not a moral one.

    Neither is the US.

And let's not pretend we are saints, our gov has always been shadowed by open secrets of moral terpitude.

Maybe we can just be better and focus on doing good here with what we have and let others forge ties with us.

  • If a program is given a set of instructions, it should produce that set of instructions.

If a program not only does not produce those instructions, but gives itself its own set of instructions, and the programmers don't understand what's actually happening, that may be cause for concern.

"Self aware" or not. (I'm sure an ai would pass the mirror test)

People seem to have no problem with the term machine learning. Or the intelligence in ai. We seem to be unwilling to consider a consciousness that is not anthrocentric. Drawing that big red line with semantics we create. It can learn. It can defend itself. It can manipulate and cause users harm. It wants to survive.

Sometimes we need to create new words or definition to explain new things.

Remember when animals were not conscious beings just driven by instinct or whatever we told ourselves to make us feel better?

Is a bee self aware? Is it conscious? Does it eat, learn, defend, attack? Does it matter what we say it is or isn't?

There are humans we say have co conscience.

Maybe ai is just the sum of human psychopathy / psychosis.

Either way, semantics are semantics, and we ourselves might just be simulations in a holographic universe.
