It's location dependant
I don't know if he believed this way when he was in Germany, but he only studied there and came back to the USA after for the rest of his life. But I agree he's a special kind of stupid.
My Dad is a Hitler supporter and Holocaust denier and he has a bachelor's degree and even studied in Germany. Wild how he can believe such things, so it's not just the ones who can't read who believe this crap. 🫠
Ain't no loaf of bread costing $42,000.
My initial thoughts exactly.
Just do a walk in? You don't need an appointment it just saves time if you can plan ahead
Sure. If you want to spend more time making rice that has a high chance of burning or being overcooked or undercooked, and that you'll have to put leftovers in the fridge right away, and that you have to remember to turn off when it's finished etc. Then yeah, a pot and lid works fine. To me, the time savings and the improved quality of the rice together make the premium rice cookers more than worth the investment. Every grain is perfect, not undercooked and crunchy or overcooked and soggy. No burned rice. Just set it and forget it and have perfectly cooked fluffy warm rice ready to eat all day long.
When rice actually tastes incredible every time, you tend to eat it more often. I know I make way more rice now than I did before I got mine.
Actually, while regular bread makers do work, the zojirushi models, when tested head to head with cheaper models, come out ahead every time.
Rice in the instant pot is fine, but it's a bit more hands on. The rice cooker makes it perfect automatically every time after you put the ingredient in and just press a button. You can also keep the rice warm the entire day so you can make some for breakfast and just use it throughout the day, hot and ready to eat! The convenience of not needing to babysit the rice, put leftovers away right after making it, no chance of burning the rice, every individual grain cooked perfectly etc. It's worth it. When you have equipment that makes something, normally mediocre, exceptional every time you end up eating it way more often.
Edit: I realize the instant pot has a keep warm function too, but I often make something in my instant pot to go with the rice so it's better to have a rice cooker for that reason as well.
Continued from OP:
10: Dehydrating anything (air fryer).
Air fryers are dehydrators too! Dehydrate fruit, or make fruit leather. Or dehydrate mini marshmallows to mix with Cheerios for homemade lucky charms!
Make a balsamic reduction.
No doubt you can even easily make your own beef jerky even. I definitely need to try that. So many possibilities.

So there you have it. 10 major things that you can do with these 5 appliances!
5 home appliances that will change your life and allow you to cook tons of gourmet food extremely easily and at a low cost.
I own a Vitamix, a Zojirushi rice cooker, and a Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme. I also own the instant pot max, and an air fryer by Sur la table. Between these appliances they help me make 90% of my food at home. The food is relatively easy, especially once you get the hang of the recipes, and they taste incredible!
Now for full disclosure up front: I sell Vitamix machines for a living. But that's not the reason or focus for this post. Heck, I would recommend y'all get a used one or refurbished over buying one from me. I just love them too death and use it way more than most people or even other employees lol.
So anyway, aside from obvious things like air frying frozen foods, what do I make with these kitchen tools? You name it.
1: Indian curries and masalas over perfect basmati rice. (Instant pot and rice cooker)
Even though the rice cooker is not made for basmati, it can make it! Just add more water than for Japanese rice and it's incredible. Curry is also tasty with Japa

Damn you skeletrex!
Why not put Tuvix in the pattern buffer, copy his pattern to storage, separate one copy of the pattern into Tuvok and Neelix, then transfer the Tuvix pattern back before rematerializing him thus saving all 3?
Oh my sweet summer child.
I have billions of Zimbabwe dollars and I picked up litter for 2 hours a few weeks ago. So there's at least one!

Were you paid $2/hr aside from your tips like is the minimum wage for tipped workers in the US? If not, you didn't need to worry because you weren't relying on them to pay your bills. American tipping culture sucks and ruins the experience for both customers and service staff, but it saves BUSINESSES money! So here we are.
I can smell the fear...

Carbs metabolize into sugar, so the meme is kinda misleading lol. The donuts would spike blood sugar way higher.

If you need a new compact 45w USB c charger, the new Anker 313 45w is the same size as the Nano 2 but it's $10 cheaper (for prime members).
I just got a new phone and wanted a new compact 45w charger to replace the 20w Anker nano I use at work. My phone supports 68w with the original charger but I noticed it usually hovers around 50w so I figured 45w is not a huge drop to be able to get a faster but still smaller charger.
This review at around the 8 min mark shows the old Nano 2 side by side with the 313 and they're identical in size. He also says they've improved it a bit. So this is a slam dunk as far as I'm concerned. Just wanted to share!
Not sure if Amazon links are allowed so just search "Anker 313 45w charger."
How I think about bills. Am I alone?
When I think about bills, I annualize them. $30 a month? That's $360 a year. $5/mo? $60 a year.
I use this to help me grasp the long term cost of all my decisions, but nobody else I know does this.
For instance, my brother and I are moving soon into 2 separate apartments (we currently share a 2 bedroom) and the new complex doesn't have Google Fiber Internet. I complained to my brother that on top of everything else I'll have to pay $5/mo extra for Google extended storage I was getting for free.
He said it's only $5/mo, just get and don't worry about it. I was like, that's $60 a year which is basically a Costco membership. He said "oh hmm, good point yeah"
So I'll work on reducing my storage usage on Google to be able to stay on the free tier, but am I alone in thinking this way about everything I buy?
