I owned a 1992 and 1994 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD (the '94 was pretty modified). I had a lot of fun in that car.
It was a mid 12 sec (in the 1/4 mile) car on pump gas in the late 1990's. I upset a lot of Corvette's, Mustangs and Camaro's back then.
My license plate was 'V8EATR'. :)
Same 4G63 as the Talon/Laser/Eclipse and AWD... Family race car.
The coolest thing about this is it appears you can watch said content through the Prime Video App, which will open Apple TV to all the android mobile users.
I'd say this is good for them. If course I don't have Amazon Prime anymore so...
Just tested mine on their first flight. I actually think the 1's fit me better but these are still comfortable.
Doesn't help on my Nvidia shield
I primarily watch on a Nvidia shield. We have smarttubenext or something on there but I watch so much I want all the history/subs synced through to all devices. So for my TV it's a pain.
I can hide them 30 days at a time from the browser but I'd live for them to not ever show up or show up under the subscriptions tab
Top on my premium wish list is a way to disable them completely
Can't fix stupid
Glad we bought a bidet after the last wrath of morons did this.
love Leo, and he's definitely in my music playlists. he's got a ton of remakes that are awesome as 'metal'
Ya, I went for a walk and had my phone/ear buds in and as soon as I got away from the house it stopped working. Tried toggling airplane mode, and rebooting, no luck. When I got back I had a msg from my wife asking if I'd changed our verizon service.
Customers are unable to make phone calls
Outside of Cincinnati and noticed I had no service around 11am. Started checking around ant it seems it's pretty widespread.
YouTube is but one, and as I said while the story is about yt I was talking Mir in general. How do you pay for content/services in general?
Right now with via ads or a subscription.
How's that work on tvs?
So, steal everything or something else? Content isn't free. The ad model exists, but only works if people see the ads.
If everyone blocks all ads, and doesn't pay a subscription, how's that work for those providing the service?
I'm not defending YouTube here, just curious what your solution is to have a service and not pay for it.
I do pay for YT family Premium in the US. I watch mostly YT, and it is my music streaming service. I definitely liked it more when it was costing me $15/mo for that and was mad when that went to $23. I even tried switching to Spotify and using ad blocking on YT. I didn't jive with Spotify, and while ad blockers work for YT, it's a bit of a pain installing them on TV boxes and managing subscriptions across devices, asking with which videos you've seen etc.
"Alpha male" victim
I've had a handful of their watches in this line but this is the first time I was waiting for/excited about the new model and jumped at launch.
Like, out of the box no audio apps I use were available because apparently Garmin doesn't release the SDK unti launch day. Just crazy... Live and learn I guess.
I'm gonna say they need to circle the wagons and get the ALREADY RELEASED Fenix 8 out of Beta.
Pretty lousy launch/unboxing experience from someone that's been relying on Garmin watches since 2013 (910xt)
Yes, I'm a bit salty right now...
It's annoying as hell. I can hide shorts on my shield TV YT app from desktop at 30 day increments. It sucks you can't just turn them off
I'll continue to not watch shorts, tik toks, reels or any other ADHD inducing short form content.
Depends on what you do / like to do
There are sailing apps I use a 3rd party watch face (data lover) Playrun for listening to podcasts Spotify (until YouTube music is available for my watch)
Congrats on the watch. I've been using Garmin's since around 2013 starting with a 910xt.
Anyone here have a new 9? I wanted to listen to some music on my Pixel Buds Pro 1s and noticed the volume was quite low.
Looked around at various settings, but nothing weird. Swapping to my 8 and I get normal volume. Switching back, low again.
So, I never visit McDonald's. Oddly, I have managed to visit them twice this year. Once a month ago while traveling and it just worked out that it made the most sense when we stopped for fuel while traveling.
And second last night. We were at the lake late and coming home just before 9pm. Most non chain places were closing, and the only local spot open was McDonald's. Had the whole family including my visiting parents.
The experience was pretty awful. First, they had 3 employees in the building, and the expectation was that you use the Kiosk. I didn't have 'strong' opinions of having to use it vs. speaking to a human. However after ordering 4 meals on it, it is quite the nightmare for the casual visitor. Probably took 4x as long to order our food.
My parents took their order on a second Kiosk and were not even able to complete their order (Parents are in their mid 70s). Not sure what happened, I wasn't watching them. My dad was quite irritated at this point.
After asking one of the humans multiple times for help, he took their order at the register.
<insert 30 minute wait for food>
Our food was placed in their pickup area in bags with napkins (store napkin holder empty). Nearly every burger was overcooked and quite dry. Both my buns were hard. The fry's were luke warm and not very fresh. The meal for 2 adults and 2 14yos was $40 bux.
I saw a story on Lemmy last week about how McDonald's profits were down and the general consensus was that it was the over priced food. While I'm sure that has an impact I believe the Kiosk, slow 'fast food' and overall experience has to be a huge negative.
My parents were PISSED, and they are historically huge McD Patrons. At least in their case, the price will not be why they do not return. Its the awful experience.
Just got this email from Haier (US) who seems to be distancing themselves from the EU division's decision to block Home Assistance.
Hello <name>, (I changed this)
Thank you for reaching out with your concern.
The Haier brand in the U.S. is independent of Haier Europe and operates separately. hOn is the connected IOT platform for Haier Europe. In the U.S., consumers can use our open IOT platform, SmartHQ. SmartHQ does not prevent integrations with Home Assistant.
We appreciate you reaching out.
Kindest regards,
Digital Engagement Team Haier Appliances
Noticed when we got home last night our outside lights were not on, but we have an automation to turn them on if we're gone after dark. Meant to check why, but forgot.
Logged into the companion app this morning to manually toggle a switch and saw Life360 integration was not connected and "requires reconfiguration"
reentering my password and trying to log in is not working. I tried removing and re-adding the integration but the problem remains. Now I cannot re-add the integration as it will not sign in.
Anyone else experiencing this?
MyQ just broke the rest of its smart home integrations.
Was hoping this would sort itself out, but after a couple weeks it's still there. Scrolling not always smooth, and swiping back from a post is always very studdery.
Wondering if others are experiencing this? Phone is 2 weeks old, came from a Pixel 7 Pro which didn't have this problem.
cross posting my own post here. Just realized there's two googlepixel communities. Just an FYI. Peak Design did acknowledge my email them, but no updates from them.
Have been using a P7P and PD case for quite a while now, we moved over to the PD ecosystem because we have both Android and Apple phones in the house and I wanted a way we could all just put our phones into a car mount and charge without having multiple wires.
I have an amazon dual charge wireless stand that is 'Made for Google' whatever that means. I use it to charge my P7P w/PD Every Day case, and my Pixel Buds.
I received my P8P PD Everyday case Monday, and yesterday I wanted to put it on the stand to charge it up a bit. Set it on there and after a bit noticed a red flashing light. It was NOT charging the phone. Tried placing it again, same issue.
As it turn out, the P8P case must have changed enough to cause some issues.
P7P + PD Case works fine P8P Naked works fine P8P + $13 amazon magsafe TPU case works fine P8P + PD case does not work.
I sent them an email yesterday with details, but buyer beware.
*Edit: One other thing about the PD case, is the camera bump protection (lip that is taller than the camera) seems like it's smaller. The P7P lip isn't huge, but the amazon TPU case covered a large part of the bump completely which would create a lot more protection. *
Stand:
Amazon case that works with stand.
I normally don't upgrade to the next series, but with trade-in,and pixel watch 2 deal I decided why not
While I didn't particularly love the curved P7P screen it did give you more desktop real estate. The 8s screen feels a tad squished in. Everything on screen is a bit smaller. I don't hate that but it's a surprise.
I just got my Peak Design case so I can use my PD mounts (motorcycle primarily). The case seems decent however, much like my opinion of the P7P case, I think it could use slightly more lip to protect the screen and camera bump. The screen lip is probably fine if you don't run a glass screen protector, adding that thickness really reduces the lip.
Otherwise, I have only really spent time setting it up, not much time using it yet :).
