    1. That flag violates US Flag Code which is a federal law, although not truly binding in a legal sense. So these people are ok with violating laws.
    2. It’s inherently racist. It was created as a knee jerk reaction by law enforcement (a job) in response to Black Lives Matter protests (a race of people). If you’re so so offended by BLM support then get a different job.
    3. It’s being co-opted by white supremacists & extremist groups (see #2).

These are what come to my mind any time I see one.

  • CDN/security providers like Akamai & Cloudflare maintain lists of known Tor exit nodes and keep it regularly updated. That makes it trivial for customers to block that traffic.

Source: My employer is an Akamai customer and we use this list in some our WAF policies.

  • I was called for MA jury duty yesterday. It was a smaller courthouse that only deals with misdemeanor cases. In MA they only use 6 person juries for these cases.

8 out of 21 jurors failed to show up for whatever reason. The judge tried to seat a jury for two separate trials, but after attorney challenges etc. he could only seat 5. We were then sent home, and I assume both of those cases have been rescheduled for later dates.

I hope those defendants get similar treatment if the state is unable to proceed with trials after multiple attempts to empanel juries…

  • My solar panels & battery are part of a Virtual power plant that our electric utility can pull from during peak power events, which is basically summer afternoons with high temperatures. They pay a premium for power supplied during VPP events. Last year we received over $5000 for participating.

During normal non-peak hours when our panels are generating excess power it goes back to the grid as well, and this is paid in the form of credit on our bill. Between winter & summer months that equals out so our bills average close to $0.

  • You wouldn’t want this video stored on traditional SSDs though. You want it stored on media in a black box like the voice & data recorders so that it can survive crashes, fires, etc. Not sure what the costs associated with that would be though…
