Minecraft Is Being Ported To Dreamcast And GameCube | Time Extension
  • Depending on how big the game is, I will definitely have to buy some CDs and burn the game to play it on my Dreamcast. Otherwise it's going straight to an emulator.

  • Are there any games you're planning to pick up during the Steam and GOG sales?
  • Last night for $4.99 and $2.99 I got Worms W.M.D. and Worms Armageddon on Steam since I haven't played any worms games outside of Worms 2: Armageddon on xbox360.

Tried Armageddon last night and it was pretty fun. Only gripe I have with it is that I had to plug in a mouse and keyboard to my deck dock.

Have yet to try W.M.D. yet and don't know if it has an offline singleplayer player vs computer mode, but I've seen enough videos of people playing it for me to think I'd have a good time playing it.

  • Redbox's owner files for bankruptcy after repeatedly missing payments and payroll: The company hasn’t paid employees in over a week and owes money to almost everyone in Hollywood ($970M in debt)
  • If I had the space and money to buy a Redbox machine, I would just so I could have one of the coolest storage devices for all my DVDs.

  • Redbox's owner files for bankruptcy after repeatedly missing payments and payroll: The company hasn’t paid employees in over a week and owes money to almost everyone in Hollywood ($970M in debt)
  • That's how I got my favorite CD and Discman, among other things. If I ever get serious about collecting, I'm definitely going through them because I haven't had any problems (that they could prevent) with their services since I started getting things on them this year.

  • What YouTubers did you used to watch back then but not anymore?
  • He's just one I stopped watching put of boredom and disinterest in his content. I don't know if there's any drama with him specifically.

  • If they're gonna go outta business soon, I better keep an eye on this. I could get some real cheap movies, even though I doubt there will be anything I'd watch. I could relive the days where my family was able to keep a physical DVD from back in the ancient times when Netflix was not a streaming service.

Edit: Netflix was a scam artist even back then! Brought this up with my mother and she said Netflix charges us for the price of the DVD!

  • Oh sweet, my old Empire Earth box!
  • Despite only having a few disc drive dependent games, this and the amount of USB ports is why I got the budget desktop I got around a couple years ago. Having a disk drive has been great, especially when I got a few CDs and don't feel like using the old Sony Discman I got because it sometimes just stops after certain songs.

  • Which of the four Avatar nations would you rather live in?
  • Totally depends on timeline and if we're also including TLoK as well. Anytime before the wars began, gotta agree with someone else who said fire nation. During the war? Probably still in the fire nation since you don't really see them getting attacked in their nation much. The fascist kinda lifestyle wouldn't be too cool, but would rather not live in constant fear of being attacked over accidentally saying something wrong. Especially since I'm fairly positive there's no way I'd be a bender.

If we're talking TLoK included, don't remember which natition it's in, but the metal city where they literally open it up like a blooming flower seems like a cool place to live.

  • What YouTubers did you used to watch back then but not anymore?
  • Pretty sure a lot of people could relate, but watching a variety of various game players who years later you lose interest in (mostly because of how cringe they are) or in my case at some point somehow find out some terrible news about them despite avoiding all the real world drama.

People like Bijuu Mike, Gloom, Logdotzip, etcetera.

Can't find another example I wanted to use since I couldn't remember the account name nor does it matter since I'm pretty sure it was found out he was a horrible person.

Also it's pretty interesting to see some people you're following on yt who you don't remember why you subbed to because there are definitely both active and dead channels I'm currently subbed to that I forgot even existed.

  • Pls someone make this reality
  • Cold air doesn't make you sick

I hate this one. Doesn't matter how many times I've had to hurry to catch a bus to get to college over the past 3 quarters, my mom will always tell me how I'm gonna get sick from having wet hair because I don't have enough time to dry it after I shower. So far I have yet to have any negative consequences for those (in)actions.

  • If there's particular content I don't like then I just block it individually.

That's exactly what I did the first time I accidentally clicked on a post from one of those dick pic communities. Immediate block. Same thing when I came across a spider community.

  • Online shop selling USED TAMPONS to strangers: 'Lucrative business'.
  • I am one of those people who thinks it's just creepy regardless of the situation for someone to want to willingly buy used hygiene products. The people selling their used hygiene products, weird, but not creepy in my mind like the buyers.

  • Online shop selling USED TAMPONS to strangers: 'Lucrative business'.
  • Headlines like this really make me question how many critically online creeps who probably have never seen a singlular woman besides their mom before are out there buying this kinda stuff.

  • Wait, people hide NSFW content? I don't care if people see it since I have posts set to have thumbnails, so nobody should reasonably be able to make it out anyway.

  • The Steam Summer Sale is live now!
  • I don't know how must have it is, but I've been enjoying Isles of Sea and Sky, a sokoban type puzzle game currently 10% off until July 11th (currently $17.99). I'm pretty sure it's maybe a month or two old at least.

  • Pyongyang Says It Will Send Troops to Ukraine Within a Month
  • That, or depending on how mistreated they were in North Korea, the soldiers surrender immediately because I'd have to assume Ukrainian prisons/jails/whatever are nowhere near as bad as just living in North Korea.

  • Mozilla roll out first AI features in Firefox Nightly
  • The way I see AI being implemented into Firefox, regardless of whether it's gonna be opt-in or out in the future is that they need to keep up with the latest browser trends in the future. If they don't, they will definitely lose more of whatever probably small amount of remaining normies who don't use edge or chrome but instead opt for Firefox. They're not tech literate enough to see a conveniently placed ad telling them that xyz browser now uses AI security features and Firefox doesn't and discern the fact that it's a ploy to get them to switch. We need more normies if we really want a chance to keep Firefox more than just treadingn water, and the best way is to offer more random bullshit of the week to keep them from switching to a competitor.

  • Also "parasite".
  • I personally like to reserve "parasite" for the investors, the ones who will literally send you to court if you try to be human to your employees.

  • Effects from the Heart Break Law
  • They never did.

  • Motion Picture Association Hires FBI Official to Lead Anti-Piracy Efforts
  • I actually wouldn't mind a monopoly if we could go back to the days of very reasonable prices with only one service, like back when Netflix was pretty much the only kid on the block. But we're never heading back to those days.

  • Where do y'all recommend looking to find no-disc game patches in general?

Mostly asking because I've never used these before due to never needing to. That, and I have a few old disc based PC games that I'd love to be able to straight up boot without the game disc. These are games I could just pirate, but I figure I already own them in disc, so I'd rather see if there are any reputable places with no-disc patches. The places I've looked in the megathread don't have what I'm looking for.

Closest they have is either a link to the game on another platform in the case of My Abandonware due to it being sold, or a link to just straight up pirate the full thing in the case of Magipack Games. I've also done some digging on the Internet Archive but have yet to yield results (probably because I suck at finding things there). Still gonna keep looking there, but any helpful info would be much appreciated.

I don't think I can share the game names, even in DM, due to the rules here, so site mainpages are my best shot.

How does ripping a CD/DVD work exactly? Is it similar to copying or does it leave the CD/DVD unusable?

I've never ripped CDs or DVDs before for any reason and am curious how this works since I have some stuff I wanna see about backing up but am nervous about ruining the disc. I've tried looking this up, but every time I do, I obviously am searching for the wrong thing because I have never found the info I'm looking for.

Bluetooth Help (MX Linux Plasma, kernel 6.1.0-13)

Linux noob. Just got a pair of Skull Candy Push Active XT bluetooth earbuds. They pair just fine with my setup but no sound comes through them. I found many different posts on various forums and nothing helped.

Using the inxi command I pulled some info I think might help, if it's needed. (I don't know if any of this is needed to help fix this issue. I've only been using MX for a little over a week and have never really done a lot of under the hood Linux maintenance before, but am more than willing to learn to fix this issue). If there is sny other information needed, I'm willing to edit this with any of that information, if I can find it.

How would I go about bypassing securom to allow for installation of a game?

Got a copy of Borderlands (EU iso) from the r/ROMS megathread and found out there is securom verification (which I have absolutely no experience with) as part of the installation process.

Closest I have found to a solution to bypass so far after some brief searching was one "Generic Securom 7/8 by Virusek" off of the "LOSTFILESARCHIVE" github page, which leads to a 404 page (even on the wayback machine).

Are there any programs or patches you would recommend to bypass this god awful drm?
