Really because I'm more like this when I find a new trek friend.

Came to the comments to search for a fight about our nomenclature. I seem to recall there being some people who'd prefer to be called 'Trekkers' over 'Trekkies'. Anyone remember that?
- Only changeling infiltrators care which term you use to describe the fandom. Use whatever tickles your brain, this isn't Starfleet Academy.

- I don't know that I'd refer to myself as a hard R trekker.

Or how it might be the opposite. I'm in the camp that says it's because humans progressed as a species that they could make a post-scarcity society work. If replicators got invented today some billionaire would just patent it and lock it behind DRM.
- Replicators didn't even help humans achieve the post-scarcity society. Humans already had a post-scarcity society by the time they were given replicator technology by another race.
- I'm not sure I agree. Replicators are basically just better 3D printers, and those are pretty readily available.
