Or, like, don't look at people's genitals in the bathrooms. This is not a real problem. Public restrooms have managed to create privacy for as long as we've had public restrooms. Trans people aren't a new phenomenon, they're just the latest conservative scapegoat.
This is not a real problem.
I have gone 30 something years of memory and the ONLY time I have ever seen genitalia in the bathroom was 1 intentional flasher in high school gym and 1 kid when we were in 1st grade who pulled his pants to his ankles by the sink and walked to the urinal on the opposite wall.
Never in my adult life has it occurred. If you keep your eyes away from genital height, you don't have anything to worry about..
So if you're having a problem with seeing people's junk in the bathroom, maybe stop staring?
And just to be clear, no incidents related to creeps or pedophiles would be prevented by restricting trans people from using public facilities. Creeps are already breaking the law peeking at people. Creating a law just gives creeps a reason to bully trans individuals when they have to pee.
Isn't this just a normal toilet?
Not in the US. Most have stalls with walls that start about a foot off of the floor and end around 6' up.
And have gaps between the wall sections and around the doors.
oh, we have that too in europe, sometimes. idk why they do that, actually
We still have those, they are just less common depending on where you are. The most common bathroom type by far is single use bathrooms. This isn't really an actual issue, just a fact one made up by bigots.
I see Europe
Asking the real questions, how is this not the top reply?
In the UK, this is just what toilets look like.
Edit: and there's still a large opposition to trans people using toilets here
Where is it though? I don't know anyone IRL that cares. And yet online apparently its the biggest issue in the world. Does make you wonder if they are either all bots or never leave the house.
it's not a problem
it doesn't need solving
this wouldn't change anything anyways
But they don't wasn't to solve a "problem", they want to create one.
And a hook upon which I can hang my bag and coat. Glorious toilet, this one. Good find.
Looks a bit narrow but still preferable to the american bathroom stall.
It's the same size, just more private.
I didn't read the title and was very confused about why you had shared a picture of a bathroom for a while
American here. Aren't you worried about suffocating in that stall, without 1.5ft [50cm] gaps between the floor and the wall, and 1in [25mm] gaps around the door for proper ventilation?
Man, doing any sort of repair work in that stall looks like it would be a bitch.
wait whads the problm?...
I’m curious about the smell of these bathrooms compared to the ones with openings around the stall. The open stall allows better air flow, but that also means you’re getting a blend of everyone’s stench. These closed stalls seem like they’d hold a shit smell a lot longer, but you don’t have to share the smells with others.
I never notice a smell unless it's like someone literally pissed on the floor or something, which is not super common around here. I bet you they're probably ventilated.
I used to draw ventilation for businesses! So I dunno what the requirements are for public bathrooms like these, but bathroom stalls are generally required to be well ventilated. We usually always placed an extract vent right above the toilet
This is what toilets look like in civilised countries.
