The eternal fan
The eternal fan
The eternal fan
Just reached for the fan remote while seeing this.
I just like to feel the wind in my hair.
Shout out to fans that never break even though you user them for years
I feel like i must surely need to oil them or do maintenance, but I never have and yet they function.
My wife needs one of those. We've had multiple fans die on us, and then the replacement always makes a slightly different drone which drives her nuts until she's used to it
It's actually a lot more intensive to be turning the fan on and off, so keeping it running is just good maintenance
Hunter Original for the win... Had mine for 22 years, my Mom has my grandmother's of 71 years, both still working
I'll watch 4 or more videos that I'll jump between tabs of on my PC, but I'll only have one playing at a time. Watch one for like 5 minutes, attentions lulls, switch to another. Later, the attention for one of the others increases, so I'll jump back to it.
It's like...staggered consumption. My attention is weird.
The various spellings of vidya always get a nose exhale laugh.
The best part is this is the relaxation zen.
My girlfriend complains when I turn on the fan when we go to sleep. Can't sleep without it
So it’s a thing huh? Every night I play a video game while watching a tv show and listening to a podcast
Are you able to actually consume the material? Can you follow along all three?
I feel bad because when I game watch videos on another screen while the game is muted on the other.
Hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars wasted on voice acting and sound design. Most of the stuff I play isn't immersive, though, more narrative driven/puzzle based.
Yeah the fan checks out, cant be without the hum, no sound means dead servers that aint good so there needs the be humming
I wish it was just humming, but it's more of a reeeee
Am I ADHDnant?
Found out I was within the last year. Explained a lot about my childhood, and adulthood for that matter. I slipped through the cracks for so long because I was never 'hyperactive'.
Did you get a diagnosis for it yet? I'm pretty sure I have ADHD but I'm still waiting on one.
Is it important to get one asap or does it not matter how long it takes?
Was it helpful? I've got a nagging suspicion on some stuff myself, but it's hard to justify the cost with "do I actually gain anything by formally knowing".
I might be in the same boat. I have my evaluation scheduled later this month
What's with the fan?
The whirr of a fan is regular and unchanging, which helps drown out irregular noises. Irregular noises are hell.
ADHD havers 🤝 Tinnitus sufferers
I could never do that
(I have audio sensitivities)
hey wait a minute
We have pretty bad thunder storms around where I live, so my fans get turned off every now and then. Since two of them have digital switches I have to turn them back on once the power is back on
there must be a way to "boot" those on "power on" 🤔
i hate that about my air-purifier. i wish it had an old-school manual switch and not those fucking modern touch buttons.
3 reasons why I need the fans running all the time
The craziest shit about getting on an SNRI as opposed to an amphetamine based med was how quiet my space is compared to before.
You mean normie brain?
I can't split my attention across 5 pieces of media like that; I can only focus on one thing at a time. Cause, you know, I have ADHD.
Different people deal with the lack of focus from ADHD differently. For some of us, being able to constantly swap between activities lessens the mental strain caused by ADHD. For others, having multiple things to do allows them to focus on one of them.
That's just low attention span.
