I personally wouldn't view the code as that makes you a liability for foss. If you view proprietary code you need to be very careful you do not mistakingly write similar code.
Just because the source code is available does not make it foss. It is in fact quiet proprietary even though everyone seems to think differently.
I frankly do not see the point of it. We have foss apps that work just as well or better without the baggage. What's worse is that they are unofficial for all the services so you could end up causing headaches. For instance, the Nebula viewer is not approved by Nebula and could break at any time. I realize that could be said for Newpipe and others as well but they are at least foss and flexible.
You do not need to follow the gnome standards. Its good practice if you do but not required.
I will never use Izzyonfdroid and you shouldn't either. It is a cheap alternative to high free software standards. It bypasses the verification process of the main F-droid repo.
As for Libretube it was just updated in the F-droid main repo recently. It works fine for me.
Newpipe and libretube is what I use. They are both available on F-droid and both good for privacy.
How unfortunate. No way anyone could of done that on purpose
Useful red circle
You also could try Linux Mint cinnamon
This is actually of frustrating
I don't even use Edge and I'm upset
It is made to be simple but libadwaita apps being single purpose is not true. It is a good design choice but some apps are naturally complex such as gnome settings.
Not to mention is can conflict with your package manager
It is very telling
Starbucks has bad coffee. Change my mind.
Just a side note you probably shouldn't be consuming foods and drinks that are high in sugar such as milkshakes, sodas and cakes. However, I think you are probably aware of that.
Ok
As it turns out he isn't more qualified that Elon Musk or whoever else the media listens to. Also this a political issue tied closely with political opinions
That's antisemitic
It is a matter if physics. Humans have to much mass. You might successfully freeze the outside but the organs will be destroyed by ice crystals. There also is the issue of if we should but that is a discussion to another day.
People aren't mentally impaired because they use Manjaro. However, Manjaro is problematic as a distro and should be avoided if possible.
Try not to use the terminal challenge: Linux edition!

So I have been a part of this community for a while and it seems pretty quiet. I know Lemmy is not as big as Reddit so this community will always be much smaller but I kind of miss the activity on r/sysadmin. Infinity for Reddit still works for view only so I have been scrolling though posts on Reddit as some of the stories and discussion there are fun to read.
With that being said, I think we can work to grow this community a bit. From what I can tell this community is home to a lot of quick posting. I am responsible somewhat as I have posted a bunch of articles. However, I am going to make a point to do longer write ups and I think it would be good we posted some stories. Additionally, I would be more than happy to help setup automatic posting for patch Tuesdays and similar scheduled posts.
As far as growth goes, I think we need to get the word out. A lot of people just do not know that Lemmy is a thing. If we can create some more meaningful posts and get some people to come over here from other platforms then I think this community will grow. I also know that mastodon is a pretty big platform so if we can get some people to engage from mastodon it will help as well.
The location of VMware Security Advisories (VMSAs) has changed on May 6, 2024. They are now available from the Broadcom Support Portal. The legacy VMSA URLs still work but are now redirected to the portal, for example: https://www.vmware.com/security/advisories/VMSA-2024-0002.html points to https://support.broadcom.com/web/ecx/support-content-notification/-/external/content/SecurityAdvisories/0/23681.
