While part of me likes this idea, I’m concerned about setting a precedent. We don’t want to normalize prosecuting/imprisoning politicians who had anything to do with the previous administration. Republicans (especially MAGAts) WILL abuse it, and instead of resorting to the legal system only in the case of serious crimes, they’ll casually use it against anyone they have a grudge against (which can be virtually anybody). I don’t want to read about a new batch of lengthy, expensive, ultimately unsatisfying trials every 4-8 years.
Democrats are hardly saints. I don’t trust them with this, either.

I think charging and convicting politicians if they are criminals would be a good precedent.
Fascists don't care about precedence, they'll just line you up against the wall while you wring your hands about procedure. That said, Trump is more likely to become President of the Moon than ever face consequences for his actions.
I am completely nonpartisan when it comes to prosecuting corrupt politicians. I cheered just as hard for Bob Menendez as I did for George Santos to get what they had coming. If you're a corrupt piece of shit, you should be in jail, not office.
