Reddit banned my account for "suspicious" support posts.

I think maybe because they had a command with su but I have no way of knowing. Seems extremely stupid that you can be banned for posting Linux commands to a Linux subreddit.

  • Did you appeal? Their AI just flags random shit that’s sort of adjacent to things they don’t like. I got a warning for using an analogy that included vandalism but it was reversed on appeal so it could be worth asking if you want to continue posting there.

    Or just hang out here. Some communities are lacking but plenty of Linux talk from what I’ve seen.

    • I got my account unbanned luckily, yes. I'm giving up on the site as a support avenue for now though. Seems like too much information is being filtered out to be helpful.

  • If I squint really really hard I can see how an AI would interpret your post as advice on how to perform an act of cyberterrorism 😁
