Zelenskyy: US Military Aid to Ukraine Remains Uninterrupted
During a press briefing, Ukraine's President Zelenskyy confirmed that military support from the US remains steady despite a temporary pause on other aid programs.
So why would Zelensky announce that?
It could of course be to calm Ukrainians. Or maybe a kind of praise to Trump to make him feel more friendly towards Ukraine.
But my guess is the real reason is to sour Putin on Trump, so when Trump finally meets Putin it won't be a friendly meeting.
I'm seeing reports that this isn't the case... So now I'm confused.
Zelenskyy clarified that he does not manage or oversee humanitarian funds or programs tied to US external aid but assured that Ukraine’s critical military needs are being met.
“No new funds shall be obligated for new awards or extensions of existing awards until each proposed new award or extension has been reviewed and approved,” said the memo
Stuff already approved and at least transferred on paper would still be otw and could be the reason for the contradictory statements.
I guess, but this doesn't really explain much.
Though I accept that this is the nature of geopolitics.
