Trans Megathread for the Week of November 11th, 2024 to November 17th, 2024
Xenia, the fox girl mascot of Linux, was first designed in 1996 by Alan Mackey. She was meant to be an alternative to Tux, the official mascot.
She had fallen into obscurity, but was noticed by a Twitter user in 2019 and was redrawn as a fox girl. But as it turned out, Xenia was originally meant to be male! The original creator, Alan, was cool with this, saying "It matches the transition of a lot of the smartest, nerdiest Linux users I know" and "And sure, you made her trans!".
So now we have a trans Linux mascot. And I think that's neat.

I would say so, at least in terms of not being cis. In other words, I would say that anybody who isn't cisgender is transgender. Therefore, as nonbinary people don't identify with their AGAB, they are trans!
There are also plenty of non-binary comrades (including myself from time to time) who post in this mega!
not necessarily,,, plenty of enbies who dont consider themselves trans. cis or trans is just another binary and the whole point of being enby is to well,, not be in a binary, so its kinda based to not identify as either :3 (tho technically binary and non-binary is inherently a binary :3c)
Trans is usually defined as having a gender identity that's different from your sex, so yeah. But words are just words, you don't gotta go along with some definition.
Different from your AGAB, nobody assigns you a sex at birth because they just take a quick look at your junk and say "yep, it's a boy" or w/e. The construct of biological sex is way too complicated and messy to be determined like that, and the sex / gender distinction has been hijacked by terfs anyway.
AFAB. Sometimes I identify as partially male and I think that's when I identify as trans. It's not everyday.
Honestly whenever I don't feel male at all I doubt if I'm actually nonbinary. I have to remind myself that it's a real part of my identity even on the days I only feel female.
