I actually like a lot of classic rock (yes even Hotel California, that solo kicks ass) but there is a lot of bad classic rock too. What do you think the worst classic rock song is? What is the most overrated band or artist? I think Supertramp is mid at best, but Bob Seeger is truly dreadful.
Overrated: Eric Clapton. Probably stole all his material, let his kid die while on cocaine and then made a weepy song and a lot of money from that. Also shit politics.
And all the creepy ass sweet 16 songs that were ever made by all rock/metal bands that might now be considered "classic".
Never got Springsteen, The Rolling Stones or Aerosmith either.
But songs like Carry on my wayward son and Stairway to heaven are the good stuff. The more prog stuff often is.

And on top of all that he had a huge fetish for shrinking a man down to let him live in his ass and control him with levers and wires
to be fair he was open to the idea of making someone really big and then having a normal size person live in his ass and control him with wires and levers as well
Clapton does suck, but I am the opposite regarding classic rock, punk is my .musical bread and butter, I hate stairway to heaven and can tolerate carry on my wayward son mostly cause I've weird Al'd the lyrics to Carry on My Wayward Scum (there's no peace you're never done, you're weary head don't get to rest, you're gonna cry so muuuuuuuuch). I like a lot of early British invasion stuff until it went all Sgt pepper. The stones have some good tunes, Mother's Little Helper rules but it's like 2 albums of really good songs over a career, Aerosmith sucks, Springsteen works better if you think of him as a folk musician who plays rock, his hits aren't really the best either, he's a full album guy, he's an amazing songwriter and although I'm not personally huge on his stuff, I do get the respect that he has.
