  • My favorite old guy I worked with, I was around 25 at the time, he was early 70s.

We used to joke that I'd call him with a wake up call when I was getting home from the bar, and he could return the favor when he took his morning break. He was in the office every day at 5:30.

  • TV, but same idea...

I didn't particularly hate Dexter season 5. The later seasons were worse, and of course it doesn't hold a candle to season 4... But I just don't get the flat out hate. It was fine, and I kinda liked it.

  • Sure, but functionally stopping the production is the main benefit of the decision. It means banks can't order more and the usage will naturally wane away.

I guess I'm saying there's a middle ground that doesn't require invalidating the currency

  • And how does it look when he fires the guy investigating his son? That's the same shit we derided trump for doing... tinkering with the Justice Department which has long operated with a high degree of independence for exactly these reasons.

No win situation for Biden, who assumed he would get another term in office. Don't pretend it isn't anything but.

  • No, the death penalty increasing violence is about incentives.

If I shoot someone dead and you are the only witness, I have a choice to make. If I do not want to be executed, killing you is the best chance for escaping punishment.

The more severe the punishment the more desperate one will become to avoid it.

If only he knew a competent lawyer.
