  • Eternal September: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_September September was traditionally the time of new admissions in US collages and universitie. As a result of these institutes often being the first time many would gain access to Usenet September had areputation of clueless newbies flailing around until they either self selected out or adapted. In 1993 AOL gave their userbase Usenet access. Thus the term 'Eternal September' or 'The September that never Ends.'

Luser: Portmantu of Loser and User. Used Derisively in some online communities in the 90's to refer to new, and often clueless, users.

  • As someone that is disabled and unable yo drive? Would love to write books. Even just shitty 99 cent kindle trash.it'd be something. Ditto YouTube or twitch.

However the moment j make ANY money that isn't a one off? Ooo you can work.

More to the point I have a fu time care twin and often our oaoerworj gets mixed. So anything I do can and will fuck him over.

The system as is basically wants me to be a perfectly hpless parasite spounging off family.

  • The way it looked to me is it would belong to 'no nation.' Which to me suggested a lawless real life magenpoor esque situation where you'dh ave defacto migrant slave labor in the slums and rich assholes upstairs doing whatever they like with their twelve year old mail order slave children shipped in from wherever.

  • This is fair. A lot of positive changes in regards to business treatment and actions (repairability being a big one, an example of forcing compliance is getting apple to switch to USB-C ... After sixteen or eighteen years of their own propritary thing.)

The US in my eyes as someone in a red state, has lost its seat at the grownup's table.

  • Next issue releases in April. We switched to quarterly because, to be honest, there was editor burnout trying to scrape for content each month and the zine ended up being like... three articles. VERY underwhelming.

  • And move it where al-jaz? The founding/voting council all are corrupt in one form or another. China? Pffft no. Russia? Pffft no. The arab world? I'm sorry but Saudi Arabia has a corruption problem the likes of which make even Trump look sane.

The US always had skeletons in the closet but now we're literally running back to the gilded age. That's not my words that's Trump's own proclaimation that is what he wants. A time where companies were unaccountable and those without power were essentially incapible of doing anything but taking it.

  • Reddit @lemmy.world

Ate a three day ban after talking about Lemmy

Reddit's automod thing says I threatened violence and harm and. I dunno? But I recall effectivly advocating against harm in the subs where discussion was going on. However It's funny. The morning after I remind folk that 'oh hey the corporate platforms, including reddit, will try to stifle discussion of altenritives' I eat a ban wit ha YOU WERE INCITING VIOLENCE AGAINST PEOPLE warning.

    ...As I said.

They would not fear us, if we could not harm them.
