Oh that one was was going on constantly the last month or so of school!
Good to know!
I haven't heard rizz, but working in an elementary school, sus has been around for awhile, and skibidi was just starting to get frequent enough to be super annoying towards the end of the school year.
“When I think of queerness, I seldom envision a genital meet and greet. Friendship, love, intimacy, romance are all melded into one singular concept of bonding."
So. Much. This.
My mom grew up in the rural outskirts of Cincinnati and says youse. Meanwhile my dad, who grew up more inside the city, constantly made fun of her for it.
I got Cincinnati and two random places I've never even visited as my top three results, probably because my way of speaking is a super mixed bag from living in different places. Language is weird.
The past two weeks were amazing, and I'm an Orff Level 3 certified teacher now! Also last night I finally made it back to that little karaoke spot I found about a month ago. The owner is such a cool lady and there's this wonderful feeling of community I've felt totally welcomed into. It will be another month before I'm able to go back since I'm about to do some traveling, but I definitely anticipate it being a regular haunt for me.
Congrats on taking control of your mental health and distancing yourself from people who make that hard to do. I hope you're able to have some fun times with your coworkers!
Not sure if it's the same type of thing, but my cat has a habit of standing downstairs and crying at bedtime until we yell, "Ralph, we're up here!" 😂
Damn, Lyle Lovett is good. I might have been the youngest person in the audience, and I'm not that young. Glad I was able to be there!
Basically it's an approach to teaching music with a heavy focus on giving students the building blocks they need to have a creative relationship with music. It comes from the idea that music is inherently in all of us and that everyone has something valuable to offer. As teachers our job is to give students the tools and vocabulary to communicate it.
Keep spending time with these people! In some ways the state of society certainly does suck, but finding our people who go against that grain has the potential to make things better. At the very least, we can make some things better in the small ways we can, and that's still something important.
Started Orff Level III today! Which probably means nothing to any of you, but it's a really great course for music teachers.
Cool, I'll definitely look into those when I get a chance. Maybe Starbound to start with. Thanks!
I got into gaming late and don't have a ton of time to play, so I'm not a super experienced gamer. I LOVE No Man's Sky. Any thoughts on which of these I would enjoy most if I feel like branching out?

This combo of song and video...
I was a bit older than their target audience, but it was one of my little sister's favorites, so I'd catch bits and pieces. I also remember how popular Jack Russell Terriers were at the time. I got to help out at a Jack Russell Terrier dog show at one point, and that was super fun.
When my dad passed away a few years ago, a friend who had been through the same described it to me as waves of grief that get further apart. I've found that to be true. Your mom will always be with you but also not, and that absence can be incredibly painful sometimes.
Having a great time in New Orleans; here are some photos from the Gay Easter Parade!

I was reminded of this one today and wanted to share.
