Virtually every group faces discrimination in some way somewhere. No one mentioned women. I think its definitely where you are. Certainly women where I am have as much opportunity as anyone else, and are not considered second class to men. The 1970s were like that. Most of the world grew up. I found blocking things is full on, time consuming and never really works effectively enough. There's always a way to see things that you want to see and if its forbidden, the curiosity is stronger.
Preference is approaching conversation with the kid(s). Take some time to watch things with them. The kid needs to learn critical thinking using logic and reasoning. Teaching these skills, and to not take everything at face value is probably where I would direct my energies. Wish I had better advice, but harbouring good debate without getting too emotional/personal is a skill worth learning.
Maybe you have developed an attraction for him but know where you want to draw the line. Someone at 50 is at a very different stage of life to someone at 25. It maybe be innocent but it feels a bit sleazy to read. Nothing stopping a friendship of course but it sounds like you both want to tempt something that would probably be complicated.

I run my own homestead buddy. I produce my own food and I provide near everything for my family from the land we live on. Our animals don't suffer. I run an off grid system to provide my own power and water. I ride electric. My entire family collectively has less negative impact on the planet than you alone, and I'd say we have more awareness of our environment than you'll ever have the capacity to get your closed mind to see. Thats not a lot of money in the scheme of things. Vegans do themselves an injustice worth more than that just by being insufferable and preachy.
