Some former Yugoslav states don't even have proper ML parties, most of the direct successor parties are socdem and have been since the collapse. I would guess Tito probably was kept around more untouched, as a legacy and recruiting tactic. So he could've been more left than the party but that doesn't mean much of anything if he is not pressure within the party.
