Thanks for the link. The basics of that article are eggs are nutritious, and people don't like when prices increase.

This article implies eggs are a litmus test for instability in every day life, but I'd argue the US should already at red alert and eggs are the last of their issues.

I honestly don't understand the focus on eggs. It makes even less sense than toilet paper during COVID.

Look, I get that for some people eggs are a cheap source of protein. But you don't need eggs, and the cheapness also limits the possibility for profeteering.

So you smuggle some eggs across the boarder and sell them for double. How much have you actually made? I don't see the reward outweighing the risk here.

I think P2P is still the way to go. Sure it's not perfect, but it's simpler and by it's very nature doesn't require the infrastructure we know will be a problem.

HumanSpiral is a tankie who comments a lot. Have him tagged as such and I recommend you do the same, because these guys are prolific commenters trying to slowly normalize relations with Russia/China. It's good to spot them early so you can move on.

Agreed! I'd say it's moved from advanced to tinkerer level now, where if you have a use case and know it's limitations, it can be pretty neat.

I originally started that way too but ZigBee has been super reliable for me and faster than my Z-wave network. I think it really depends on what devices you have and if one is misbehaving.

Voice control of devices you have in home assistant is cool, but I don't think I would recommend it to an average person who uses Google assistant. Sure it can turn the lights on and off if it's aware of those entities, but this user is describing playing games, asking for media streams, podcasts, all things home assistant voice does not support (certainly not out of the box).

It's a lot better now. I have an original Galaxy S and moving from it to a Nexus was a breath of fresh air. I was never I to the Samsung bloat.

However, the Pixel line has been stagnating and Samsung had been working hard to add little quality of life features that honestly Android should have had a long time ago. The bloat is way less and a lot can be uninstalled. With a custom launcher on it it's actually better than my Pixels (IMO).

Google is just not interested in making Android more usable or real features. They want more AI and assistant nonsense. Dex is just something that Android should have had years ago, so it's good that they're starting but they're way behind.

Having used Dex on my Samsung I'm not even going to consider going back to Pixel until they have this working well. If you have a use case for it, Dex is awesome.

It's not a rumor. I'm sure it's not quite as simple as the internet is making it out to be, but there are systems that the US hosts which are required for full operation.

Oh man, is that the issue with my clipboard? It has been driving me NUTS. The other issues are true, but I can live with them. I've really been enjoying FUTO though, so I'm not sure I want to give it up.
