"Salman's vision for the city incorporates some technologies that do not currently exist, such as flying cars, robot maids, dinosaur robots, and a giant artificial moon."
That's a very good point. It's pretty damn sad at how disconnected many of us are to the processes that get us everyday things.
Yeah. Basic human decency says to help, not gawk. Absolute insanity that people would think any other way.
Wonderful read. I'm lucky that my family back home avoided the worst of it but it cut off the power. I pray that the rebuilding effort will be enough.
I would love it if there was one like that, but unfortunately there is not for this election. I am very protective of my trans and queer friends and if trump is elected it will directly affect their lives in harshly negative ways. If you look at what is happening with trans laws in red states the framework for a genocide is there and there are certainly voices in Trump's circle who want that to happen on a large scale.
What's happening in Palestine is awful and I want the least amount of awful to happen in the world. Having another genocide happen on top of the one already happening would help absolutely nothing and hurt a lot of people.
I am looking for an FOSS alternative to InqScribe that will work on Linux. InqScribe is software used for making transcripts of audio. It essentially allows you to have an audio file and text beside each other and make timestamps in the text based on the audio playing. I don't need anything fancier than that.

Probably climate, weather, food security, and/or landing conditions.
I have WhatsApp from Aurora store on grapheneOS and occasionally get what you're describing, but it's not constant.

I'm curious what the difference is between Balenca etcher and Ventoy for writing isos to a live USB for distro hopping purposes. I see both recommended in fourms. Is there any advantage to using one over the other? Are they both equally safe/secure?
I'm also curious about trying out new distros. I've been using LMDE for about a year now and it's been fine, but I want to expand my knowledge and see whether LMDE is my favorite distro or not. I'm not the most well versed in Linux and don't have any prior programming experience so a beginner/mid level distro is what I'm looking for. I want something I can test out without connecting to WiFi (so not arch).
Someone gave me a Hisense C11 Chromebook and I'm wondering if there's absolutely anything I can do with it. It seems like a piece of junk and the Linux stuff I've seen for Chromebooks specify that they don't work with the ARM processor. Is there any distro that would work on it? Any other ideas about how to repurpose it?
Note: I don't have direct access to an Ethernet cable/router for setup. Also don't have the most technical knowhow.
It's not a universal rule at all. I know people who are very ADHD who if they drink coffee they have a panic attack. I know people who it makes tired, and I know people who it makes productive. Personally it makes me more talkative.
Basically, it's not a criteria for diagnosis at all. Everyone's brain chemistry is different. There might be a higher percentage of people with ADHD whom caffeine does not affect compared to the general population, but that does not at all mean that to be ADHD you have to have that same thing.
I have a t480 and didn't need to do that
What do you mean? Testosterone is a controlled substance.
Windows kept shoving their stupid Edge browser down my throat. Tried every way to remove it and it kept popping back up like malware. Kept annoying me with "upgrade to Windows 11 popups." I've used windows 11 on other people's laptops and was flabbergasted that there were ads on paid software. In addition to that I heard 10 will stop getting security updates next year so I bit the bullet and switched to mint full time. It's worked well for me so far.
I stripped this screw in my laptop and as such can't open the back cover to replace parts.
Things I've tried: -Different size/type screwdrivers -Rubber band -Hammer -Hot glue gun
Edit: got it unsuck. Thanks everyone for the advice
As per my previous post regarding Instagram, it was suggested to me to add it to a separate profile on grapheneOS. I have a couple of questions about it:
1.) Does the VPN on my main profile apply to my secondary profile
2.) Do I even need a VPN on my second profile if the only thing on it is Instagram and most permissions are off
3.) Is there a way to transfer selected images/files to the secondary profile
Any other tips for limiting Instagram's tracking are welcome as well. EXCEPT for "Instagram bad get rid of it." I am already aware of that.
I want to preface this by saying that yes, I know that Instagram is bad. I am planning to get rid of it in the future but as of now I have to keep it for communication with people who are only on that platform.
So I have grapheneOS, use protonvpn (free version), use mull as my browser, and do not have google play services enabled on my phone. I do have some apps downloaded through aurora store such as Instagram, whatsapp, mychart, and mint mobile, but the rest came from f-droid.
I have noticed multiple times that after having private conversations on matrix, I get Instagram content in my feed that is scarily accurate to the conversation I had on the other platform immediately after. I know that things discussed in Instagram direct messages and group chat will give suggested content based on those conversations, but I get stuff that that is very specific to what I have ONLY discussed on matrix and didn't look up via my browser.
So my question is how is Instagram doing this and what can I do to mitigate the spying it's doing on my other apps. Thanks.
