Sid Meier's Civilization 7 developer breaks down the new leader mechanics, "it's one of the biggest changes we've made to the game and one of the scariest"
  • Their design process is 1/3 old stuff, 1/3 reworked stuff and 1/3 new stuff. The idea is that why should release a new game if it's just the same as the last one. This is actually a problem so often that there is a recurring meme within civ communities every new release

    Bluesky continues to soar
  • According to this blog post, they are currently limited to 10 accounts, so not many open servers, but you can host your own.

This is an old blog post, though, so the limit might have been lifted

  • Bluesky continues to soar
  • In theory, bluesky can federate with other apps but it is currently the only one using their protocol, bluesky servers can federate with each other and when a new project using atprotocol appears it will probably be able to federate with that

  • Threads deepens its ties to the open social web, aka the ‘fediverse’ | TechCrunch
  • I'd hope it's carefulness but it doesn't seem like it. Facebook should want to destroy fediverse instances (from a business point of view), they are supposed to be a monopoly and the fediverse is their biggest competitor.

    Youtube Music

    Apple Music

    Deezer

I'm not 100% sure about the genre as I can't tell just from listening and the band is too small to find someone else talking about it but I think this is alternative/indie

Managed to set up an instance using Lemmy-Easy-Deploy but federation is being a bit weird

Is it always weird on new instances, I'm seeing posts from a random amount of days ago, no votes and no comments. Also, is it possible to federate with communities automatically or do I have to search for them all one at a time to add them to my instance?

    Weird issue with lemmy ansible

I have been trying to get an instance set up with lemmy ansible for a while and I got to the last step but if I try to access the instance via the proxy container -which I think is the right one- I get a 502 error. I was looking in the logs and I got this error message 2024/01/20 23:02:15 [error] 29#29: *1 lemmy-ui could not be resolved (3: Host not found), client: 192.168.178.62, server: localhost, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", host: "192.168.178.57:13330" it has 2 IPs, one isn't the machine's local ip (192.168.178.62) and I know it isn't my public ip. Is this actually the problem and if it is how do I fix this? I've been looking at old github issues about the same error but none of them are the same problem as mine.

Could someone explain how to set up a lemmy instance with ansible for an absolute beginner

I tried earlier today and I had no luck actually getting an instance running

It would help if the explanation was specific to a raspberry pi

Is there a way to use retropie without reinstalling the os?

I was looking through the docs and forum posts and it didn't mention anything useful, just that you can.

What happens to my instance if my domain expires?

I recently was gifted a raspberry pi 5 and was looking at domains to buy to host my own instance. What happens to my instance if the domain expires?

Also, do freenom and .tk just not allow new domains to be registered anymore?
