[cw: self-harm, transphobia] Alabama Mayor Commits Suicide After Conservative Website Publishes Photos of Him Dressed as a Transgender Woman
  • You know what this is? It’s karma. She advocated for the same policies which led to her death. If there’s a lesson to be taken from this story is that the people who are often the most vocal homophobes are often homosexual themselves because they hate themselves.

[cw: self-harm, transphobia] Alabama Mayor Commits Suicide After Conservative Website Publishes Photos of Him Dressed as a Transgender Woman
  • A closeted trans woman who became a registered republican, a pastor, a mayor, and met Donald Trump. Even if she never said anything homophobic or transphobic in her position as a community leader, which I fucking doubt, she perpetuated transphobia with the choices she made in her life and career and ate the consequences of it like how she ate the bullet. No sympathy whatsoever.

  • I imagine all my favorite leftist philosophers/twitch streamers standing around me saying congratulations like that scene from evangelion.

I need Marx’s validation so bad baby!!!!! I did not dedicate ten years of my life to an ideology for the founders of it to hate me.

The left is missing a golden opportunity by not bringing the Chicano and Palestinian communities together.
  • The United States has been worse for indigenous people. I don’t want to alienate indigenous people by saying Mexico ruling over them would be better, but I don’t see an easy answer for how we can get solidarity between the indigenous communities and Mexican government. Like if we could get that it would be amazing but I legitimately have no idea how we could heal the wounds between them. We probably can’t. But like, a stronger Mexico to fend off the US seems like a necessity.

  • The left is missing a golden opportunity by not bringing the Chicano and Palestinian communities together.
  • Just because Mexico is a colonial state doesn’t disqualify the grievances they have against the US. The struggle indigenous people have against Mexico and the United States is an entirely separate issue and the issue here is that there is a very legitimate land claim that Mexico has against the US that the left has not explored well enough. We can’t abandon it as an option, like even if the nationalistic element is not really there, such an action would do good at destroying the US empire which is kind of the end goal of what we all believe here.

  • How do I hexbear?
  • To win at hexbear you got to appear more communist than everybody else while not adhering to your own beliefs because you’re the ceo of communism. I KNOW THERES PEOPLE LYING ABOUT BEING VEGAN FOR INTERNET POINTS! (your valid)

  • Here’s the thing, you don’t! Traditional media is fucking dead, it’s all owned by newscorp.

You have to engage with the online left if you want to remain current on all the issues.

Telling people to touch grass is so disingenuous because we have to use the internet in modern life to basically do anything.

Really you should be using the internet on company time and recognize it’s just as real as meatspace.

  • The left is missing a golden opportunity by not bringing the Chicano and Palestinian communities together.

We all know that in the 1840s the United States illegally annexed much of the American South West from Mexico in a war that was rooted in the interests of protecting slavery in Texas. The Chicanos were the Mexicans who had ended up on the United States side of the border after the conflict, they were and still are treated as second class citizens just like the Palestinians despite being there before the whites. While it’s not purely an indigenous struggle it’s in the interests of the indigenous peoples of America, the Chicanos, and the Mexicans to get the land back that was stolen from them by the United States.

The only problem is this movement is deader than Margaret Thatcher. The chicano political movements petered out along with the black power movements of the seventies. People gave into liberalism. Like Mexicans are okay with working for shit pay in a land that used to belong to them because anyone who speaks out runs the risk of getting deported or having their treats taken away from them. How do we put life back into this movement? We HAVE to tie it to the Palestinian one.

We need young people living from California to Texas to know that the land they live on is stolen, and sure all of the United States is stolen but if we can provide power to just one movement out of all them, this one would be the most important and consequential. The Puerto Rican movement is just one island, the indigenous movements are too fractured, the Black Power movement has had no success with its nationalist movements, but Mexico, if we could get the Mexican president on stage and say “United States, give us back the land you stole, or else” that would be completely justified in the same way Palestinians are justified in fighting their occupiers, because the United States citizens, are occupiers, and Mexico has a right to use the methods of resistance that Palestinians are using right now.

If there was an afterlife, and human spiritual energy persisted after death, and there was a way to extract it for clean efficient energy, maybe people should accept grandma is not going to heaven.

Your eternal salvation is worth less than the energy needed to power my duel 4080ti 240fps monitor 8k gaming rig to play Fortnite with. Really it’s not, I know you chose to believe in an afterlife or whatever but I’m an atheist and was an atheist before we discovered that heaven literally exists and we can get energy from it from the souls of the dead but you know, if we extract enough energy then technically atheism will be right in a roundabout way. Besides, if everybody who died is in heaven right now, I’m effectively killing ghost hitler. You are a bad person if you want the continued existence of ghost hitler. We aren’t harvesting hell energy because it doesn’t exist but heaven energy is here and now and the battle bus is leaving right now so be gone and it’s og season one and the new kanye album is out right now and so is the second season of invincible and I’m consuming all of this simultaneously right now on different monitors and if you don’t get out of my room right now I’m going to start throwing funkopops at you for distracting me!

Uyghurs and Falun Gong: Is it all bullshit?
  • If you were to list the top ten cults in the United States by harm done, Scientology wouldn’t make the top ten. It would mostly be Protestant churches who will do another Waco if forced which honestly isn’t something anyone should want.

Scientology is bad, but they have one thing going for it that most cults don’t. Sexual abuse is not common, like obviously it happens but probably to a lesser extent than the Church. Scientology is much more focused on exploiting the labor of its practitioners and covering up the occasional death caused by lack of medical care than getting horny. Like legitimately the reason why Scientology still exists is that it is not a sex cult.

  • Uyghurs and Falun Gong: Is it all bullshit?
  • Him and the South African guy were politely but firmly told to leave China after the government and internet users got mad at them for essentially abusing their privilege too much. They rode bikes where they weren’t supposed too, they flew drones everywhere they went, the constantly used vpns to access banned websites, they complained about the travel restrictions put on foreigners, they owned and operated a bike shop when foreigners aren’t supposed to own stuff, they filmed things they weren’t allowed to film. But the biggest transgression of all, is them working without visas. They did a lot of white monkey work that wasn’t at all regulated. They were the beneficiaries of the dengist reforms which flirted dangerously close with liberalism which is why so much of it was reverted when Xi took office.

Like the time they were in China was some of the most economically prosperous but also economically unequal periods in Chinas history, they left right when the whole global economy took a shit before the pandemic. I think they are jaded about being kicked out. Like the American married a woman who wants to raise their kids in the US meanwhile the South African is still a bachelor but couldn’t go back to South Africa, I think and like they both kind of settled down in the US and can’t really do travel blogs anymore and now just grift for money from their dwindling fanbase. Their biggest problem is like they spent so much time learning Chinese culture, they did nothing to learn about communism. That’s their biggest problem, they tried being neutral about it but you cannot be neutral when it comes to communism, you either support it or you don’t and if you support it you got to support all the time and they weren’t willing to do that.

I think the only silver lining to them is that, despite basically becoming anti-China mouthpieces, they know enough about China to vocally denounce the crazy cults like Falun Gong, like they hate the China uncensored youtubers with a passion, and for those that don’t know, China uncensored is a Taiwanese Falun Gong ran Youtube channel. These guys (Laowhy) does know a lot about China and it’s a fucking shame that they are so critical of it.

  • It’s hilarious and sad that the straightest example of a US/Canadian conflict in fiction is fallout. FALLOUT!

Fallout does not deserve to be the work of fiction that has the best depiction of a US/Canadian conflict, like there’s shitty comedy movies, and maybe a Turtledove book that even deals with it. But all of them treat it as a joke, like the second closet thing I can think of treating it somewhat seriously is maybe infinite jest but it’s like Quebec and French people aren’t real and their struggle was like a a school production with cardboard to like the IRA.

    Idk, I’m done ranting.
