I am not a number.
Harley Quinn - S05E02
Haha I actually mentioned this show in another thread somewhere in Blåhaj and it seems there's at least a couple more like me that lost track and didn't even know this had come back yet. So hopefully at least by the finale, it'll be a little busier in here.
My first ever suspension from Reddit was for an anti religion comment. On Reddit. Then after my 3 days were up, the first thread I saw was on the subject of religion, full of people saying worse thing than I had, and in one of the major subs, not even atheism or anything.
I could definitely buy that they're using AI but personally I always had the impression that they outsource the job and don't make sure everyone is even on the same page or can read English properly.
Because even the stuff that gets [removed by Reddit] seems to be nonsense a lot of the time. A while ago I saw someone make a post saying something like "Hi guys, haven't been active much lately. But I'm back and gonna be posting more." Came back later and it was [removed by Reddit]. So not even that is trustworthy or gives the impression that they actually know wtf they're doing.
RoboCop, the Alien movies, Hellraiser. Honestly a lot of the old Jean Claude van Damme movies are fairly hardcore for kids, looking back. Probably a lot of movies because I was allowed to stay up until whenever on weekends from pretty young.
Yeah, I get the impression that the thing that drives most pro-lifers is religion (or their twisted interpretation thereof), not compassion. And as far as I'm aware, their religion doesn't consider animals to even have souls but rather sees them as tools for humankind to use, provided to us.
Over the last week I've listened to:
- Mastodon - Leviathan
- Def Leppard - Retro Active (select songs)
- Halford - Resurrection
- Butcher Babies - Goliath && Take it Like a Man && Lilith
- Bad Religion - The Gray Race && No Substance
- Portishead - Roseland NYC Live
From what I understand and heard through the grapevine, none of the current members of Village People are even the originals anymore. And their current form wasn't exactly popular to begin with.
Personally, I still haven't started judging users by the instance that they made their profile on. Unless there's right wing instances but in that case I'm guessing they're de-federated from my current experience. I prefer to go by what I'm reading from an individual user or the vibe in a particular community. When you browse instances on the join page, there's no cliff notes on the turf wars between them. So a lot of users are signing up based on the written description.
These kinds of men that are constantly focused on what it means to be a 'man' are the biggest fucking insecure snowflakes of them all. These are the kind of people who act like their entire race and gender is being erased when 1 in 10 Marvel movies don't have a white male lead. When all attention isn't on them, they spit their pacifiers out and wail.
Take this election for example. It wasn't about them. Even if they don't care about queer people (we know they don't), it was also about doing the right thing for their mothers and their sisters and their daughters. But because the poor, hard done by white man wasn't given as much importance as people who are literally getting their rights taken away, they decided join the oppressors and spit in their mothers' faces.
Not because they're men but because they're pieces of shit.
Ah yeah, I guess I should've mentioned that the dialogue is probably edited. They were generally pretty mature cartoons and certain League members were for sure fucking, but it wouldn't have ever been as blatant as this. This dialogue almost belongs in Harley Quinn.
Nah, the title of your post literally says "engine Passed 27 courses during the weekend", which is either weird broken English or something happened when you were posting from whatever platform you're on and it messed up the title. I think this user is just wondering out loud if it's a bug that needs fixing.
Fallout: New Vegas. NPCs might not be that advanced in terms of schedules and stuff but in terms of flavour and story probably blow just about any other RPG out of the water. I also think I prefer a world that doesn't level with you, where quick saving and quick loading isn't going to get you through everything all the time and sometimes you just need to come back at a higher level.
I do see value in Bethesda's leveled NPCs and items in terms of replay value but I think it also makes things a little too casual and makes quick saving/loading the most powerful weapon or power in your arsenal. Because technically nothing is ever out of depth for you, so it's just a case of trying again until you succeed.
Also, in response to someone here talking about the music, I listen to this soundtrack occasionally in down time. It's a nice break from alternative and punk and metal and shit, when you're not exactly a fan of other modern music. Between FNV and BioShock, I've become quite an Artie Shaw and a Helen Forrest fan.
In a way you're actually paying much much more seeing as you used to be able to share your Netflix with others. So that cheap amount of money got you x amount of accounts while the latest most expensive amount gets you 1. It's almost shrinkflation.
This is most likely from the DCAU, either Justice League or Justice League Unlimited. Bruce and Diana had a very short lived little courting thing going on or whatever you would call it. And Diana was a bit more forward with it while Bruce was his usual gruff self. They didn't actually get together though.
Edit: so animation
Edit 2: "courting". I took my monocle off and realised the word I was looking for was "flirting".
they did not answer
Yeah, the Israeli or Russian troll farms that were driving this whole thing and providing the slogans and snappy comebacks have achieved their goal and left now. So now the confused kids that are left don't have any snappy comebacks anymore, except to repeatedly take digs at LGBTQ+ people and reveal the real reason they were drawn into this.
Ah that's a fair compromise. In that case, assuming they were all going to join, I'd go for the non Elon / Zuck / Spez run platform for sure.
That just makes me think, this is a strange question for the fediverse because I'm pretty sure a fair amount of instances aren't American run already.
Which is a problem, IMO. Maybe the solution is to have a women focused instance and I would be all for it. But also, that's a little bit like India having a women only train because the men are too rapey on other trains. It allows safe passage for women for now but doesn't actually fix or address the problem of rapey men.
Fuck no. The Americans provide 90% of our entertainment and they're actually fun people to interact with and chat with (the ones that aren't wearing MAGA hats that is). What am I gonna go without Americans on social media? Talk about fucking Table Mountain? Join the Europeans in looking down on the USA for everything and always acting like their own shit doesn't stink?
Fuck that, I'd start using VPNs.
I hope Trump bans all your genders.
Funny enough, this is the second time in as many days that I've seen one of you people specifically singling out LGBTQ+ people in your little temper tantrums. Makes it pretty obvious that Palestine was just your excuse to welcome the christian nationalists in. You see, we suspected that you didn't care before but now it appears your masks are slipping off.
Critics warned it advances anti-trans rhetoric
Hmmm yes this floor appears to made of floor.
She-ra is a blast IMO. Definitely more suitable for all ages than Harley Quinn and Hazbin Hotel though lol. Not to say there's nothing for adults but it's not as edgy or violent.
Hazbin Hotel was also great. Not a fan of the music personally (please don't kill me) but loved everything else about it, from the concept and message to the characters, especially Charlie and Vaggie. Haven't actually checked when season 2 is coming. Losing track in this place.
Sonic the Hedgehog & the declawing of art
I hope that this is the right place for this, please let me know if there's somewhere more appropriate because I'm not sure where it actually fits.
Let me just start this off by saying, I recognise that these are kids movies and I also thank these movies for bringing me back into the franchise and revisiting such a big part of my childhood. In fact what's great is that it's introducing a new generation of kids to it.
Just finished Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and after spending the last 6+ months (re)watching all the animated adaptations and (re)playing the games, I really don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first two movies. And I've realised that Sonic has actually been characterized pretty badly here and completely tamed and watered down. And even more so, I feel like this displays a larger problem in mainstream media right now.
Sonic in the '90s and 2000s:
Back in the '90s when I was a kid, we had two Sonic cartoons running at the same time. In both of them, Sonic was an anti-a
AskBlåhaj
It was suggested that I post this idea to the community proper. So I'm just copying and pasting the comment that I made, edited to make it clear which post I'm referencing (which is the next most recent post here anyway). I hope I got the link right in order to work with all of this federation mumbo jumbo.
I’m too new to be making these kinds of suggestions and I’m far from the moderator type myself but multiple times throughout this week, I’ve been thinking that it would be pretty cool if there was an AskBlåhaj. Or even just general Ask Lemmy based here, that could be asking for unwanted attention from shitty people on other instances though.
Not even 24 hours after seeing this post, I’ve seen someone else getting the snark and a non answer for a simple question. And also a Blåhaj user.
As much of a public bathroom as it could be, AskReddit was pretty fun for ‘silly’ questions and general chatting. And a nice place for new users to hang
Mbin support? Edit: Or PieFed?
I hope this isn't a question that's already been asked to death, in app search for "mbin" isn't all that helpful.
I'm still in the stages of looking for a permanent home here in the fediverse. So far mbin has really caught my eye because it's basically Lemmy+ for all intents and purposes (at least for mine). I'm not all that happy with what looks like the only Android app though.
So I was wondering if there were any plans to add mbin functionality to any existing Lemmy apps? Even if I used a Lemmy app solely for the 'Threads' or Lemmy section of mbin, then used the web page or only mbin app for everything else, I would be fine with that.
I tried to see if I could sign in with the app that I'm currently using (Eternity), with the kbin.earth instance and no luck. So obviously the API is just that much different.
Are any devs here thinking of expanding their apps in future? Or is there one I've missed? I've seen more than one app with the description "For Lemmy and the Fediverse",
Two bug reports and an observation or suggestion or two
First the bugs:
- Trying to edit the top tabs such as rename or rearrange seems to do absolutely nothing, although the changes that you make in settings seem to stick.
- Changing the default server for the 'Anonymous' account also seems to do nothing. Once again, the setting does stick though.
Observations / suggestion:
I notice that there is a placeholder for 'multicommunities'. And I think I came across one or two other things that are placeholders / leftovers from Infinity. So it's all good, everything from app to the platform itself is WiP.
My suggestion is that for now, while we can't create or add multicommunities and have a bit of variety in our feeds, what about being able to add the local feeds of other instances? So that regardless of which instance I'm signed up in, I can have my Subscribed, Local, All tabs, as well as for eg. a 'World' tab, 'Blåhaj' tab etc. Is this something even remotely possible? Don't think I've seen other apps with this idea either.
