As I understand it, the English and Arabic channels are very different editorially, with the latter being rather controversial and biased to the Muslim Brotherhood¹. The English channel even wrote about the division themselves².

This is something, in addition to that censorship exists in the west/everywhere (and arguably is favourable in certain forms), that should be kept in mind regarding Aljazeera. I must honestly say, I did not read more upon this, so feel free to correct or specify.

Apart from all the other points made here, I always wonder why uniforms have to look like there has been no development in clothing/fashion for the last 100+ years? Why do they have to look like they are extras on a Harry Potter filmset?

It is not the most elegant of sources, but it gives some explanation and cases. It also looks like it mostly effects second-home owners and tourists who have overstayed the 90-day period. In general, if applied for a residency, and lived in the EU for a while there is a small chance of being kicked out. Local conditions may apply, like a certain income in Spain.

People are stating as if it is the same issue, while I made a point in everything past the first sentence why it might not be a valid comparison. Also, people are not making comparisons, they just drop words along the lines of "x company also does that".

Ps. I don't hate Apple (I have been using their stuff most of my digital life), I just don't cult around a behemoth of a company pretending they have my best interests.

Whataboutism doesn't justify anything. There are quite a few nuances. For example that Android and iOS have way higher adoption numbers than game consoles, and that these OSes play a crucial role in people's everyday lives. In addition, do these platforms have a duopoly, so perfect competition doesn't exist on that level, and like elboomy states, does Apple have a monopoly on its own platform. Apple forcing a piece of the cake is thus merely a power play which is enabled by the imperfect market of smartphone OSes and their app stores.

An al-amira or shayla doesn't cover the face either. I think it is fair to prohibit things that cover the majority of the face, like a burqa or a niqab as it would make it very difficult to recognise the person, but I don't really see how people, other than the wearer, are affected by the two I mentioned first.

We (at least I) don’t really know if Biden’s view has changed in any way, but as you and Edric point out it has been over 30 years. Even a slight change could make this quote not relevant for his current stance.

I agree that Biden’s response shows very little concern for the Palestinians, which fits right in to any other US president’s view in the conflict. I think it’s deplorable, but I see a little hope in Blinken’s trip with the other Arab states and at least came to the conclusion for a fighting pauses.

Thanks for the source, but I think it is weird to drop a decades old quote with a recent picture. Especially during the complications of the conflict right now. It feels indigenous without a further context or reason why this is relevant?

Let me be clear that I think the international community should get involved and stop this non-proportional response from Israel (and in any case this never ending conflict) and that the US has a significant leverage over Israel.

Germany was steadfastly opposed to the Iraq war. A fairer solution would be that European countries which joined that war, like Poland and the UK, take all the Syrian and Iraqi refugees. They helped cause the problem, it's only fair that they should help solve it.

Some of the states around the world have deep problems from events that happened far in the past. Specifically colonisation has played a role here.

Additionally, if Europe wants to reduce migration, it should invest in the areas that see high migration, instead of dropping a bag of cash at the nearest African dictator to "take care" of Europe's problems or forcing developing countries in even greater debt and problems through conditionality via the IMF and World Bank.

At the same time will we only see an increasing demand for labour and instead of being the populist now, we should establish proper immigration systems.
