I think the implication is that a reason is out of your control, while an excuse is of your own doing.
Like say you slept in and were late for work. If you slept in because of a medical condition or the power went out and your alarm didn't go off, it's a reason. If you slept in because you stayed up too late or forgot to set your alarm, it's an excuse.
Not that the two terms aren't interchangable in a lot of cases.
In the 90s, "gay" had become a catch-all term for "thing I think is stupid". I've heard LGBTQ people intentionally unironically use the term in this manner.
At 198cm (6'6") and 111kg (245lbs) BMI states that I'm on the high end of "overweight". My waist is 96cm (38"), which makes my RFM "average". I like that better.
I haven't exactly been to a large number of big concerts in my life, but still I have to say that Weird Al's was the best. It was late 90s. He played every one of his hits in costume and nailed it every time. For the finale, he buried the front rows (I was in row 2) in fake bubble snow while playing Christmas at Ground Zero. It was gloriously ridiculous. 10/10 experience. Hardest working man in showbiz. UHF was a documentary. (I still haven't seen the new movie. I really should get on that.)

I think it was pretty hard to determine exactly what his role in the occupation was until s6e11, "Waltz" when he outs himself while pulling a Misery on Sisco. Though I guess his selling out the Cardassians to the Dominion one season earlier was a pretty glaring clue. It seemed to me that he could have been a victim of circumstance rather than a vindictive monster until that point.
Though in hindsight, I get it being very hard to swallow that he might be redeemable.
Gul Dukat is so well written. It really seems like he's going to be redeemed seasons 3 and 4, and then WHAM-POW he's a fascist who sells his own people out to the Dominion, and a racist who actually thinks Cardassians are superior beings. The show makes you like him, and then completely pulls the rug out from under you.
Not for science fiction literature, guitar pedals, and synthesizers which was primarily what I went to Reddit for in the first place. There was some effort to get those communities going here back during the mass migration here from Reddit, but they've never really thrived. It sucks, but I'm not going back. I take a peek at r/synthesizers on occasion, and really it's just a gaggle of self-promoting synthtubers and umpteen iterations of "what should I buy?".
Beetlecrab Audio Tempera is the most inspiring electronic musical instrument I own. I got it in April, and I'm still finding new ways to use it. It does so much.
Oxi One really is the hardware sequencer to rule them all. Though I'm sure you could get by with a Hapax or Deluge if you don't mind spending twice as much.
Not a purchase, but Csound has always been an invaluable companion to my music making process. It's also entirely free and open-source.
