I've realized that I was the most engaged with the Democratic party when there was a faction that platformed raising the minimum wage, implementing universal healthcare, and taking measures to make housing affordable & create a federal jobs guarantee. Those stances are non-existent now, and the party truly has nothing to offer other than not being the Republicans. So what does Kamala do? Try to remake the party's image as a friendly space for Republicans who think Trump is a little too nasty. I have no interest in voting for a Diet Republican Party, and obviously millions of other people feel the same. If people want substantive change (as much as is possible via liberal electoralism), and all you're offering is, "We're the same as the other party, but not as loud about our disdain for minorities, the poor, and the women & children of Palestine!", they're just going to stay home. Awesome strategy.

Does that cheating thread still exist? I didn't see it, but I saw it described in these comments. As someone who has been in the position of being in love with a woman who was hiding an already-existing boyfriend, my gut reaction was "fuck her, the guy should know that she's cheating and shame on her for leading another person on while she's already in a relationship." I'd like to see the context and hear the arguments for why telling the boyfriend is a bad idea so I can do some self crit if necessary, because purging misogyny is always a good thing.

They've been starving and massacring Palestine nonstop for coming up on a year, Lebanon starts attacking in solidarity with Gaza, and now Israel is invading Lebanon like they're the victim and need to defend themselves. Meanwhile Syria and Iran are potentially in Israel's sights, and us Westerners are supposed to support Israel? It's so blatantly obvious that they are the aggressors and main destabilizing force in the region, and all of this is completely their fault. Yet you talk to any lib or turn on the TV, and Israel is just the smol lil bean who's encircled by enemies on all sides. I fucking hate all of it.
