I only have this issue on political communities. Anger towards Americans is much more pronounced on Lemmy than on Reddit. People will call for violence a lot more frequently here than on Reddit.
I understand the anger towards Americans, but it can be downright toxic to organizing at times.
What are you guys talking about?
It’s not limited to Republicans. I saw this during election season as well with Uncommitted.
Those who wanted to vote for Kamala downplayed how bad she was for Palestine. Those who were withholding their votes constantly downplayed how dangerous Trump was, and then blamed Kamala for putting them in this position.
Edit: I’m not passing judgement. I’m just trying to show how it’s not exclusive to Republicans to change your perspective so you don’t feel bad about voting a particular way.
First one is Captain Obvious.
I haven’t heard anything about people buying drones. The gun ranges have been packed though.
Luigi Mangione has been the only thing uniting the left and right in the US. This is one of the few things that has managed to break through Fox News propaganda. Killing a legendary hero isn’t the win the GOP thinks it is.
Democrats and Republicans alike banded against Luigi. It’s Citizens United talking.
I mean, this really isn’t new for us.
Oligarchs destroy everything they touch.
This happened like a month ago. This isn’t new. The speech still slaps though.
We are truly in the second Gilded Age.
All this, and Biden wasn’t allowed to forgive our student loans…
Nah, don’t be such a doomer.
French-Canadians used to be hunted by the KKK. They would often come to work in New England. Then, the KKK would scare them back to Canada.
It’s a perversion of Christianity.
God can commit genocide and torture because His actions are beyond human understanding. God is the creator of Goodness, so every action he does is Good by design. I personally view God only as Good because he is powerful, but I view Jesus as Good in a more genuine and human way.
The powerful like to take the parts of religion that allow them to live in a simplified world. A world in which they are Good, like God, not by action but by power and nature.
They forget that sinning applies to the powerful, just like it applies to the weak. Everyone deserves to be forgiven in Christianity, but only after you’ve paid for your sins. People like the “being forgiven” part, but not begging for forgiveness in a brown sack covered in ashes part.
They need an excuse to cover up their real reason: that they think peasants have a duty to breed for the state.
Republicans: Fuck ‘em kids.
The “pro-life” party really loves the death penalty…
What I was thinking too.
Adding to this, PunkRockSportsFan ignores that religion has been used to end violence. Christianity was a huge part in the US abolitionist movement.
