And then there's that miraculous time you do get ready in 15 minutes, allowing yourself to believe you could achieve that again on purpose.
Ah that's a fair point. ADs that are 20x louder than the video is a sure fire way to get me to close a page.
One one hand that's annoying and would suck if you're a light sleeper.
On the other hand I feel like some (most?) people would sleep right through that. In which chase the ad would give money to the uploader dispute the audience literally being asleep. That's cool because fuck ads lol
True crime is not far off from crime documentary. If anything I could see people arguing they're the same and it would really just come down to semantics.
To me, a " crime documentary" is a show or episode covering a specific crime or suspect. A True Crime podcast (or show, vlog, etc.) tends to cover a new crime or suspect each episode.
If anything, I would argue True Crime shows are a series of mini-documentaries so-to-speak.
Another thing to consider would be production value. When I hear "Documentary" I think of something I would see on TV or a streaming service. In other words I think of something backed by money.
When I hear "True Crime" I think of podcasts or vloggers. Typically a person or small group of people doing their own research and producing their own content.
A True crime podcast I'd recommend would be Small Town Murder. My wife will listen to it as we're doing chores around the house and I would catch myself paying attention from time to time.
If you were turning right, and there was a pedestrian in the crosswalk, would it be okay to hit the pedestrian?
I think it would be fair to blame the infrastructure if we want. Bikes shouldn't be exposed to right turning traffic. Clearly it's a safety concern.
Nevertheless, regardless if you're turning left or right, you still need to yield to whatever is in your way. Just because you are making a right turn does not automatically grant you right of way.
Bikes: a transportation vehicle with health benefits. Ambulance: a transportation vehicle for the unwell.
Bikes are the natural enemy of the ambulance. A war between the bike clan and the ambulance clan is on the horizon.
There's also an extension which always redirects you to old.reddit.con too as an extra fuck you to their shitty UI. I think it's literally called "Old Reddit Redirect" or something
Dude I want out. Even before yesterday it's just depression and exhaustion here
Probably because polls and predictions mean nothing and we're subconsciously remembering 2016 when Trump was getting crushed by polls.
Is the lieutenant's name Mr. Hanky by chance?
There are tons of reasons why one might not want to change their name. At a minimum you have to send a form to the state, update any licenses you have, contact your banks, your insurance, your place of work... Best case scenario it's an annoying hassle to deal with.
Was I appreciative when my wife took my name? Sure. But that's mostly because we also share the same first name so it's hilarious to share the same last name. But I told her many times before we got married she didn't need to do it. I never expected that out of her.
If having a matching name is a big deal with you, then you can change your name.
I'm out of the loop with Dune news. Is the plan still that Dune Messiah will cover the second book (of the same name) and there'll be a Children of Dune TV show? Or am I just speaking fake news?
Ah that makes sense! The anal nitpicky part of me would still say, "well, the feeling of Mondays would still be there in some cases." But I understand the jist. Thanks!
Can someone educate me on this one? I understand people hate their jobs and would rather be doing something else, and maybe under socialism there are more opportunities to do stuff you enjoy, but there still is work to be done. Would the work not still have start times and end times throughout the week?
Like, ditch the shitty corporate job and make art or something fulfilling. But you'll still have to go to work on Monday? (Okay, maybe art is a bad example because that would be more contract based and you'd work as needed, but the question still stands)
Firefox has a button that shows up in the url that kind of turns the webpage into an e-book-esque view that pops up for most articles (especially Pay Wall)
Yeah there's a church near me that has a banner displayed with a picture of an infant saying, "don't abort me. Help is available. Talk to someone inside."
No phone number or email to contact, just a "come inside."
Allegedly (coming from a neighbor) if you go inside they try to sell you sketchy insurance and not much else.
That was actually addressed it seems! (In the FAQs at the bottom of the site)
Lmao
Is there some way I can force Elon Musk to pay $47 to Cards Against Humanity PAC?
Funny you should ask! If you’re a registered voter in PA, GA, NV, AZ, NC, WI, or MI, just type your name into this dumb website for his PAC, put “MuskIsDumb@cah.lol” as your referrer, and they'll be legally obligated to pay us $47. The more people who do this, the more Musk money we’ll get to un-fuck America.
If he doesn’t pay up, we’ll sue him again.
I will absolutely share this around after checking it out myself, but what is a good response for the inevitable "they're bribing people to vote"?
Screw you how dare you be civil on social media

Title is pretty much all.
Some context:
I took an edible and had a thought last night.
What if I tattooed a ruler on my finger?
I never would actually do this, but my interest still piqued. Do hands keep growing? Do they stop growing? Do they shrink? How long would a finger ruler be viable until it needs decommissioned?
I'm probably going to PlanetComicon in KC because some of my friends are going, and I noticed a couple of celebrities have been involved in Trek comics!
I've been meaning to start reading some comics but keep putting it off because the amount of series to choose from is a bit overwhelming for me. I suppose now is a better time to start never!
Title is pretty much everything!
I have these high up windows that I'd like to clean and maybe in the future install curtains on. I guestimate the wall being 20ft (6m) tall.
For other rooms in the house I typically use an A-Frame, but it's impossible to find an A-Frame to reach that high where I am.
I plan on draping a towel over the top of the ladder to prevent scratches and scuffs on the wall, as well as getting a rubber mat or something if the floor seems slippery. I am just not sure if drywall would support a ladder? Especially near the frame of the windows. Maybe there's something else I'm not considering as well?
Description of image: Meme image. I can't believe he didn't cry during Titanic! Do men even have feelings? The man is crying at Picard crying in the mud.
Like, I understand listening to them while driving to work, exercising, doing chores, etc!
But sometimes you're in a moment and you don't want to stop listening, but you're done with your chores or something.
I currently just sit and twiddle my thumbs but I feel like I could be doing other things. Sorry if this was a dumb question I took an edie 😅
I'm not talking high, I'm not talking vibing, I mean absolutely covered in cookie crumbs baked.
Sometimes, it's nice to come home from an awful day at work, smoke a toke, and forget about problems for a minute.
I usually would just continue playing whatever game I'm actively into at the moment. But when you're sitting there covered in cookie crumbs, maybe trying to figure out how to play Boulder Gate 3 might be too tedious for the moment.
Vampire Survivors is what I typically play, but sometimes it's nice to have more than one option.
