Proposal For World's Tallest Mass Timber Building Moves Forward In Milwaukee - CleanTechnica
  • From my uninformed understanding, concrete production releases a lot of CO2 while building with wood essentially 'stores' carbon in building form, rather than producing gas to create the building.

I don't have numbers, but I think the benefits are clear enough

  • Freedom of Russia Legion calls on Russian soldiers to surrender, switch sides amid Kursk incursion
  • I am actually impressed how long this unit has been operating. I thought this was just another transient unit earlier in the war, but I am begining to think that they may play a larger role in days to come.

Very interesting to see how this has played out.

  • In Ukraine, Killings of Surrendering Russians Divide an American-Led Unit
  • Killing prisoners of war is a violation of the Geneva Conventions. Once soldiers clearly indicate an intention to surrender, they cannot be attacked and must be safely taken into custody. The Ukrainian government has repeatedly pointed at Russian troops killing unarmed and surrendering soldiers as proof of Moscow’s lawlessness.

Russia has stated foreign fighters (i.e. Russians fighting for Ukraine) are unlawful combatants entitled to no protection under the Geneva Conventions, captured foreign fighters will not be given prisoner of war status, and captured foreign fighters will be prosecuted as mercenaries.

While maybe morally detestable, it seems only legally questionable by Russians own logic.

  • Ukraine reports largest surrender by Russian troops of war
  • I am curious how these soldiers differ from the ones being used in offensive operations. I suspect they would be border guard units or reservists.

Haven't found any images of unit insignias or any ID from this latest batch, curious to know what units are involved

    Interesting situation overall
