How do Americans win their country back?
  • If you look back at her primary in 2020, she was.

Hard to wash that off with some last minute recanting, like with fracking and other such campaign claims.

Her hand was tipped as to her ideal term in office 4 years ago, I'm surprised Trump didn't use that shit in attack ads given how much more stereotypically progressive she was then.

Personally I called it in when a clip of hers saying "we've got to get woke" (not sure about the wording but the word woke was used positively) from some talk show aimed at black people from this year came out.

You need to live in a parallel dimension to think that word is not absolutely fucking nuclear waste in the political discourse rn.

  • Why is the term "bloodline" often used instead of "family tree"?
  • It's huge in wrestling at the moment because it's been a faction for like 3-4 years involving the actual bloodline descendents of chief Peter Maivia, which includes The Rock, Roman Reigns, the Wild Samoans, and pretty much any samoan in wrestling excluding Samoa Joe.

  • How long do you think we'll keep seeing "formerly Twitter"?
  • We're doing ok in Europe.

Even with lower salaries than the US, most people in their 30s I know have a mortgage.

I myself bought at 31 with my wife.

It's not affordable for everyone but it's doable for people with actual salaries, you just might have to compromise a bit on position or size.

  • TIL about Çatalhöyük an anarcho communist city from 6500 BC
  • Kind of a stupid decision to call something pre-currency and pre-codified laws "anarcho communist".

It'd be like calling something born before animal life "vegan" because it doesn't eat animals.

Technically correct, maybe, but very much missing the point of the label.

  • The price of retro-gaming is killing me
  • games that I really do care about and want to be able to experience on authentic hardware.

Crack the console then, ps2s have software cracks by now, and sideloading cartridges exist for a fair few portable consoles.

Basically the only one where you can't really do it is the cartridge era stuff but those can be approximated with a decent emulator, a controller adapter and a CRT screen, if you're willing to tolerate a bit of latency with output converters.

Games are fundamentally software, the hardware gives the experience but the cartridges/disks, with some exceptional cases aside, are literally just a delivery system and a means to maintain ownership.

It's nice to have them for that feeling of tangible presence but realistically that's never going to be more affordable the further we move from when they were made, but that doesn't mean you can't at least approximate playing on the hardware or straight up just do it.

  • Ubisoft monetization director blames gamers, says they've been exposed as 'non-decent humans'
  • People can be correct about something for the wrong reasons.

This guy is a bellend, there's plenty of reasons to cheer on the demise of Ubisoft without having to be a "DEI is in the room with us" obsessive like Grummz, and ignoring that because it's easier to call the people who don't like you chuds shows a similar level of detachment from reality.

Ubisoft's fuckups are too numerous to list, and the latest one was indeed too fall for a swindler who convinced them to try and sell one of the least marketable ideas in history, but the volume of sales lost is not in the same order of magnitude as the politically obsessed lunatics online on either side of this conversation, blaming them is like blaming sharks for all animal related deaths.

  • Rina has now surpassed 500 days as the current Future of Stardom champion!
  • True but size is also a feature here.

A small roster managed up close and dedicated to delivering consistently is much better than like, AEW in 2023.

It's the difference between an industrial bakery and a hole in the wall handmade patisserie, you get a much better product but you can't easily scale it up.

  • Tokyo Princess Cup 2024

The annual Princess Cup event of TJPW started yesterday with a good (if predictable) first round.

Is anyone else following it? What are your predictions?

Nao Kakuta will be graduating from wrestling in July

Can't imagine this was the plan 3 months ago when she won her first title and immediately had to drop it.

Let me be the first to say: FUUUUUUUU-

    Repurposing an Animus Heart

Way back at the beginning of my figuring out home automation, I bought a Animus Heart.

It's ok but it's extremely limited and the UI is terribly sluggish and unwieldy, so I'd like to replace the OS with Home Assistant instead.

I have reason (my router recognising it as a such when it crashed) to believe that on the inside it's just a Raspberry Pi with some added bells and whistles.

Has anyone tried this? Is this feasible?
