I'd like to think they're all just Russian trolls but increasingly, I think some people are just selfish or dumb.
  • Yes the problem is that the GOP is the hard right nationalists, and people who have put everything on earth below one specific issue the GOP supports. The DNC is made of everyone else. It is much harder to work with a constituency that is not in any type of alignment.

  • How dare you...
  • Ah yes, just ignore me. It helps protect your point of view when you ignore the people suffering from it. Keeping the status quo is better than getting the people vowing to make it worse.

  • How dare you...
  • I didn't say the status quo was a good thing, you just decided I said that in your head. You don't seem to understand, that because something is bad, that it can still get, much, worse. I am ultra aware of the price of housing, like very, very, very aware of it. YOU are the one who seems to be unaware of the suffering of others. There is a whole fuck of a lot more suffering in this country than the cost of housing. I have been homeless, and not in a couch surfing till I get a job sort of way, it was a living in a concrete tube, under bridge, in sub zero temperatures, sort of way. You keep this horseshit fabrication of what I said going with the democrat cities quote, Never said that, further supporting my earlier thought that you don't understand bad can get worse. In fact, I am willing to bet I have actually experienced the bad side them far more directly than you.

The fact that you can't understand that one bad can be far worse than another, make me feel you are actually the one that is insulated from the suffering of others. People who are deeply suffering from things understand the relief of "better", vs continuing on in the hope that my pipe dream comes true. Pipe dreams like not voting for the lesser evil in the presidential election will make third parties viable, or convince the more progressive side to actually become so, or that it won't change anything for the worse. There is a lot of work to be done to change this situation. Pushing for more progressive candidates at the local level, judges, mayors, sheriffs, county execs, etc., and working with people who have been getting vote reform in multiple states, and more. If you want proof that this works, look at what the GOP has done over the past 50 years, and how it has allowed a minority population to have a strangle hold on the government.

    Fuck off keyboard warrior.

  • How dare you...
  • Yeah, that is not true. One continues with a set of decisions that are actually improving my life, and the lives of those around me, while keeping the status quo abroad. The other, and everyone working with them, have produced a plan for governing that will make both significantly worse.

Just because you sit in a position of privilege, that means the GOP getting their way won't significantly change your life, doesn't mean that is true for others.

  • What's a technology that was cooler in its older iterations?
  • The two major hospitals, relatively near me, use a combination of tubes, and robots, to dispense medications. One is working on completely robotic food service, and has completely robotic floor cleaning/polishing. Both, also, have robots that do the basic landscaping maintenance, like mowing/edging. There is more, it is interesting to walk around and see all these infrastructure systems work. Feels, at least partially, like the promised future of sci-fi.

  • Intrusive thoughts at the airport [Azul Crescent's silly scribbles]
  • I have been told by the TSA agents they only really ever take it if it has a pointed file on it, as those can be made into disguised knives. This is why you see much fewer of them on clippers these days.

  • Far left intellectualism
  • Memes do change peoples' mind. I have watched it happen, numerous times. Can they change anyone's? No, but I have literally watched meme shitposting, and socializing via image forums, and video games, just talking shit, and exchanging memes, change people's political alignments, and other aspects of their personalities. Misinformation, spread online, with bots involved, is why FEMA workers are scared for their lives ATM.

I never said this was the biggest problem facing Democrats, nor did I say shaming works to change their minds. You made this up. I commented to someone doubting that people are actually like this, figuring it was just bots, with my anecdote, about people I personally know, who were, or still are, like that. There is no more to it. Your imagined narrative where I said this was the biggest concern for Democrats, or that shaming will change those people's minds, never happened.

  • Far left intellectualism
  • Bots spreading information? yes, it is a big issue.

The point I was making is that the people I have seen that push this "punish them with no vote" philosophy tend to be people who are in a position where their life will not change significantly if the conservatives get their way.

  • Far left intellectualism
  • While I agree this is definitely a big issue, most of my friends are various leftists. There is a clear line where the white, straight, cis, financially secure, and healthy ones are, or were, definitely of this mind. Though, in my case, few of them are still this way, after years of discourse with everyone else, who don't have the privilege of not having to vote DNC, lest our lives become quantifiably more dangerous.
