  • That's the issue. Too much threatening, too little going forward with it.

No one wants unnecessary conflict. We all want to get along. But when you have people acting in bad faith, who know you're bluffing, they'll take advantage of you everytime.

Because they know you'll complain but that's the extent of it. If they act in bad faith apply consequences, don't hold back. When they complain or throw a pity party don't waver. They knew it was coming, they were warned.

With the US adding fuel to the fire we're at a crossroads in history. Russia wants to buy time, and excessive bureocracy and empty threats only aid them and their cronies.

  • Decades from now students will learn about this whole period in schools - and they'll call the teachers liars and say there's a shadow government altering history.

Because no one will believe we had this level of stupidity and idiocracy. You literally can't make this shit up if you tried your best.

He's really going around bragging "Heh hurr durr, check out these plans I have access to because I'm the mf'ing top dog, I'm so good, let those doubters calling me a drunk eat a fat one." Repeatedly. Micro pp energy all the way.

  • Even if that's real, which doesn't look like it, what's keeping them from forcing Mr. Garcia onto a chair, hold him down, while they tattoo it?

This administration and their dictator allies have shown to have no constraints, no guardrails, time and time again. Consistently. You can always blindly trust them to bs and lie their way through anything.

You gonna tell me people who tried to stage Mr. Garcia sipping some Margaritas by a hotel pool wouldn't stoop so low as to place fake tattoos on him? Yeah, that's the thing with dishonesty - even if you tell the truth once it's still gonna be called into question. The boy who cried wolf, and all that.

  • Oh no, Vance got Vance'd... Lucky it wasn't televised for the whole world to see.

Anyways, can't wait for the snarky tantrum and projection condemning the Pope once he's far away.

Bet the poor Pope couldn't even attend because in addition to his health issues he must have felt the evil pressure oozing from Vance.

  • When Mr. Garcia gets back to the US take his family and put them in safety in another country - Canada, Europe, so long as they're far from El Salvador or Trump. Political asylum anywhere safe, since he can be considered now a person of interest to those wanting to upkeep democracy, and a danger to those undermining it.

I'm sure there's plenty of people sympathetic to this cause and wanting Mr. Garcia to be able to freely speak without fear about what he's endured.

As soon as he's back in the US he'll have a big red bullseye on his back, guaranteed.

Trump after running away, returning at the end of the war

  • Bro really thought, after everyone else involved since 2014, he could just get in the room and say:

    • "Hey, c'mon. Let's just stop this. Killing is bad, peace is good. I also want Ukraine to give up all the taken territory and I want 50% of Ukraine's minerals in perpetuity, in exchange for nothing.
    • "And then everyone clapped, and the war ended for good, just like that, with everyone happy. Zelensky hugged Putin, both kissed Trump's ring, and they shared some champagne overlooking the beautiful US Gaza Trumpland sunset, surrounded by AI bearded ladies".
    • The End.

Children raised on silver spoons often expect others to simply obey them, no questions asked.

Slow clap. He really managed to come in when Ukraine had the upper hand with allied help, weakened their efforts by humiliating, extorting and cutting off aid and intel, as well as making them lose their bargaining chip in Kursk, and now they just say "this is too much after all" and bail out.

Just to show up again at the end to claim victory after Europe and any other allies have seen this through. Mark my words.

  • Inb4 Trump claims American Indians are just Indians from India who tried to fool true 'muricans.

  • I really have this naive dream that when this all is over and they have to face consequences justice opens an exception of irony for the lot of them and gives them the medicine they so defended - no due process, straight to foreign gulag. Then photo op in front of their cell.

I don't expect it to happen in the slightest. But god, would I accept it so well. These people need to be made an example of, otherwise there'll always be a whole army of them lined up for the next attempt.

  • Heard of the whistleblower related to DOGE who claims the tech group hired by Musk had already tried to breach government for years or so?

And how with each DOGE visit to a given department it always followed tactics of distraction and getting stored data, then suddenly leaving?

And how there's suddenly many breach attempts by suspicious hackers linked to Russia right after DOGE visits?

Or how the biggest culprit of government bloating by hecking far, the Department of Defense, same department who has failed several audits, was never a target of DOGE?

Hm... Not suspicious at all. Sadly I can't recall the source, but I think it was on YouTube.

  • What @beernutz@lemmy.world said, pretty much.

European too here, though with a special interest in all of this since I'm one of the closest europeans to the US, living right in the middle of the Atlantic. 🙂

  • Make no mistake. Last time Trump got legitimately "thrown out of his palace" he called upon an army of insurrectionists to storm the capitol.

Now he's back in there, surrounded by yes-men, and his insurrectionist army is pardoned and with boosted confidence that they can spread chaos without consequences. And by being POTUS many of his armed forces supporters have the "following orders" and "his elected authority" excuse to side with him against the remaining government branches and the people - even if their oath is to the constitution.

Whatever enforcement entity SCOTUS can get to impose actual consequences to this administration's wrongdoing on April 23rd, if it comes to it, Trump won't take it lying down. That's a guarantee with these savages.

  • There shouldn't be Luigis in the world. Not because what he did is wrong, but because there shouldn't even be a reason to do it in the first place.

I want a truly peaceful and equal world. But when we live in a world of "rules for thee but not for me" and where the elite is allowed to profit from the misery of the people, there might as well be no rules at all - we might as well live in chaos and anarchy.

That's what happens when in the same week you have someone shooting a CEO for preying on thousands of lives, and someone lighting other person on fire in the subway, in the same city, and yet justice application is very different for either case.

Because if one of us isn't equal, no one is. Luigi is just a natural balancing consequence to the abuse of the elite - and try as they may to make an example out of him, the more they do it the more people will be driven to sheer despair and insanity, having nothing else to lose.

I don't mind losing. So long as they don't win and get away with it either. I might not get the world I long for, because sadly humanity has quite a few bad apples, but I won't stand idly by while said bad apples get to live happily ever after in their debauchery at the cost of our lives either.

  • Not confirmed beyond every doubt so far, as it's still fresh news, but Anonymous seems to have leaked 10+ TB worth of files on Russian assets.

There's a folder with Trump's name among them.

Still, if it really turns out to be factual, the UK had already warned the US about this in 2016, before Trump was even elected the first time, to no avail. Some people just know evil is evil, and still choose to side with it.

  • I legit wonder how someone previously condemning bad acts and bad people can do a 180° and suddenly side with evil. Almost as if the original was replaced by an evil twin.

And then I remember. These are politicians. Aka wannabe actors who play whatever character will advance their career the most. And unlike many actual actors, they're always in character, with no real personality underneath. Wolves in sheep's skin.

Reminds me somewhat of the game "Little Nightmares", where the bad guys are depicted as monsters hiding under a human skin.

I hate Trump, Putin, and every other piece of shit like them. But they are largely known quantities. Lower than a fascist, is a deceiving fascist.

    Little Marco. Maybelline Vance.

  • It definetly was the platform ever. Like, no doubt about it.

  • I mean... His headache will surely end, forever, as will all other sources of pain...

Now you, lady... Depending on your personality and surrounding environment, I'm not as sure. Some headaches are inflicted. Others are chronically self-inflicted.

  • Leading by example. Yes.

Show class and integrity, don't just argue about the lack of it in others. Do what's right, regardless of what others may think, regardless of the waves of negative opinions trying to dissuade or turn you against your own ideals by acting rashly and out of sheers spite.

  • Sometimes I look at the politicians from my country, and think to myself "gosh, what a bunch of sleezebags. Even I could do a better job". And then I see this and come back to reality.

I mean, my politicians are still sleezebags, but not at this level, and that doesn't necessarily correlate to my ability to actually do better than them with no actual experience.

These folks are the me that didn't stop at intrusive thoughts. Who thought that just because they were raised on silver spoons and bailed out at every blunder they knew better.

  • Yup. Peaceful protests only work when the tyrant actually cares about the opinion of the protesters and may want to go out with even a shred of dignity.

That doesn't work for self-absorbed scum who believes they're above everyone else and thinks they can win by bulldozing the opposition - appealing to the good will of a sociopath won't save you, because there's none there.

He's calling the people's bluff, and he damn well knows the people don't want to get their hands dirty.

All the defense of school shootings for what? For a second amendment that isn't even used in the only situation in history where it would be justified? All talk, no action. And Trump is exploiting it big time.

  • Yes. But even more accurate in this case would've been the original meme format, where the US would be rage screaming "STOP MOVING ON WITHOUT ME!!! 🤬"

They've already even complained about the mere possibility of Canada switching trade focus to Europe, calling it an unfair team up against the poor little victim US which "would have consequences".
