Presidential Immunity - abbothenderson
  • What crazed lunatics?

Yeah they are doing a hyperbole but it would be 100% legal and moral to make laws to restrict wealth and then once the law is there, seize billionaire wealth and leave them with 100 million dollars or something (so not even dragging them down to our level).

Responses like yours forget that people are frustrated and have already said the reasonable versions thousands of times.

  • Since America is bringing back kings what other kind of stuff is on your medieval wishlist?
  • Really? When did it start cause during all my history classes I didn’t hear about it.

I thought taxes were introduced at a certain point, not that they’ve been here since the dark ages.

Do you have anything I can read up on about this?

  • It's exhausting...
  • As in republicans could veto the nomination?

Could dems veto the new justices?

Sorry im not American and am trying to understand. I thought dems could have but chose not too due to integrity.

  • America is in danger of Fascism
  • I was talking about the forceful oppression of opposition. That is an element that has existed in the US for a long time.

US has had no dictator yet but a president has much more power than a prime minister.

If you consider fascism to be a spectrum, then US has always had these elements. Dictatorship is basically the end of said spectrum.

  • America is in danger of Fascism
  • So I’ve had this issue too, it’s because we can’t agree on the definition.

I use the definition in the dictionary and based on that, US could fall under it, kind of loosely but technically correct.

  • If Batman was real today, he'd go after the CEOs of companies, not gangsters.
  • But all those are poor people who got rich via crime since they didn’t really have other avenues.

The Batman lore has a lot of hidden messages about social class and hierarchy which doesn’t translate well to today.

  • America’s big problem is not Joe Biden, it’s the menace to democracy posed by Donald Trump
  • We can't keep reacting to them and treating every election like it's the last night at the Alamo.

Thank you! While I do agree, voting for Biden is a no brainer when it comes to the binary choice, as someone from another country, this shit is frustrating.

You guys have had the same tone since 2016. I get it but clearly there is a huge crack in the system that is just propagating more and more.

The rest of the world is worried, as in worried long term, not just for November.

  • Yep, I never understood the appeal besides making kids feel special. It seemed like a water down fantasy which when I criticized people just said read the books.

Ironically I did read the first one before the movies became a big hit. It was an okay children’s book at best.

For some reason we have these unwritten social rules that say you can’t critique certain pop culture icons once they hit critical mass.

  • Apollo would be proud of both

They are honestly both good, but can’t beat the native ios experience.
