A centrist dipshit on dive bars
  • I'm a dive bar frequenter. Here's my list:

    • I like to drink

    • It's easier than drinking at home. I could go to the store, lug a 12 pack all the way up front, stand in line, lug it to my car, drive home, lug it up the stairs to my apartment, have it taking up space in my fridge. Or I could just stop at the bar on my way home from work, stumble in, ask for a beer, drink a couple, hand the bartender my card, then stumble out and drive the rest of the way home.

    • I have a tiny apartment and it's nice to get away

    • Even if I don't really socialize, it's nice to just be around other people

    • I go with my partner a lot, and they're better at striking up conversations with strangers

    • one of the servers at my local (actually a bar and grille, but sue me) flirts with me a lil bit

    • the dive bar I go to with my partner has a hole in the wall that lets you order tacos from the place next door, and they only charge $2 for Wells on Taco Tuesday

  • A centrist dipshit on dive bars
  • God is in His heaven; on Earth, everything is Normal.

  • War criminal receives pat on the back from unelected head of state
  • In countries with parliamentary systems, oftentimes "The Government" is used to refer to the coalition of governing parties, rather than the state apparatus as a whole.

  • r/Europe discovers that Ukrainians are not keen on going to the meat grinder
  • That's the thing, they think they're enlightened European liberal social-democrats.

  • Dear Democrats, I'm just saying...
  • It would be so funny

  • My lib friend, unprompted, posted this bullshit
  • is eating shit vegan

  • I just cited myself.

  • Shadow Of The Erdtree’s mixed Steam reviews paint a different picture to the critical reception
  • I've also been getting very bad stuttering that makes the game functionally unplayable. I think I'd love the DLC, if I could actually play it.

  • more like midwest.liberal
  • I still remember the one and only time I met a midwest.social user irl. I was part of the PSL delegation to a local coalition-building meeting. Someone had mentioned using fediverse-based sites to bypass censorship, we struck up a conversation after it was over. We both used Lemmy, he was on Midwest.Social. He asked "What instance do you use? Hexbear?". I told him, no, sorry, I'm in the PSL, I use Lemmygrad. I don't get to see posts on midwest.social because they defederate. Maybe you should talk to your admins about changing that. He got mildly uncomfortable, wrapped up the conversation and walked away. I imagine because he was confronted with the fact that those "Tankies" are not just Russian bots or (all) apathetic keyboard-warriors but do actually exist in the real world.

  • Yo automated KKKommunity note$$!?
  • Anyone who posts a comment that is just "What?" (or even worse, "Whut", "Wat", etc.) will be put against the wall when the revolution comes.

  • Russians behead Ukrainian soldier in Donetsk Oblast
  • IDF soldiers are beheading children by the dozen and we're supposed to care that a soldier - who presumably knew what he was getting into - was killed in a slightly unusual but likely more humane way than dying slowly of an infected shrapnel wound?

  • What was your worst work mishap, accident, or oopsie?
  • I work in a grocery store meat department, and part of my job is breaking down the newly-delivered pallets in the morning.

Ground beef was on sale and the warehouse had allocated (i.e., sent us extra on top of what we ordered) way too much. Each box has a production date and a use by date, but the text is very small, so I am supposed to write the day of expiration (excluding the month, since ground beef gets only 20 days on the shelf anyways; so a box that expires July 5th would get "5") in larger size and circle it.

I was very sleep deprived and on some of the boxes accidentally wrote the day of the production date (last month) instead of the expiration date, making it seem like they had 10 extra days. So the butchers ground other boxes before those ones, and the mistake was only discovered two days after the last two remaining (roughly 80-lb.) boxes had expired.

A funny mistake that's not mine is when a new hire, on his second day, was told to run our cart of fresh pickles. When he pushed it over the threshold from the backroom to the sales floor, the too-large, precariously-stacked cart completely collapsed, causing dozens of jars of pickles to smash (and to be clear, I did tell him how to push carts backwards over the threshold so that exact thing doesn't happen - he just didn't do it).

And to top it off, he wasn't wearing his slip-proof shoes (even though he had been told to multiple times), so when he was carrying a box of sauerkraut to the department to be written off, he slipped in the pickle juice on the floor and dumped sauerkraut all over himself.

  • Not Likeable - Lemmy.World
  • maybe the democrats should try fielding more likeable candidates

  • Israel rescues four hostages in operation Palestinian officials say killed more than 200 people
  • If you believe this conflict is about religion, you are a gullible idiot. The conflict is a colonial one; the same sort of genocidal displacement we saw in North America only on the age of smartphones.

If everyone on both sides became Atheists, the Israelis would still be butchering the Palestinians and the Palestinians would still be fighting for their freedom.

    > Howdy! I’m Drew, and I’m the administrator of a Socialist West-Marches DnD 3.5e Discord Server, the Axe and Sickle! The server is over a year old, has a dozen DMs, over 30 active members (and over a hundred lurkers), and hosts an average of 2 or 3 games a week. The game has an old-school, traditional fantasy feel. > > Devastated by an unknown catastrophe centuries ago, the Ohm Basin is home to naught but monsters and outlaws. A retired adventurer from a foreign land has founded a town in the middle of it, and adventurers - such as yourselves - file into its tavern, the Axe and Sickle, to secure their own fortune! Plunge ancient depths to uncover lost secrets, thwart necromancers who build their strength away from civilization, and compete with fellow grave-robbers to loot forgotten tombs! > > If you don’t know what a West Marches Game is, it is a style of DnD game where, rather than a static party that meets regularly and follows the DM’s campaign, the players themselves choose who to adventure with (and when to meet) for a single expedition before returning to town and disbanding. This is good for players with inconsistent schedules and interest, as it is an extremely low-commitment game. You don’t need to set aside any time in your schedule for this game on a permanent basis; just pick a time and day that works for you, one session at a time. And if you have the energy for anywhere between two games a week to one game a month or even one game ever, you can be accommodated. > > The only things required are a Discord account and a mic. Prior DnD experience is not; everyone is welcome. For now, all games are run in English. The game is a safe space for Socialists but anyone is welcome as long as they aren't disruptive. > > If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. We’ve recently expanded our DM team and are looking to run even more games than we do now, but to do that we need more players. We’d love to have you! > > https://discord.gg/R5dPsZU

How to view posts from an entire instance?

Is there any way to view all posts on a given instance (as if that instance was your home instance and set to "local"), and not just a specific community/communities you are subscribed to?

Specifically, my home instance is Lemmygrad, but I'm interested in ttrpgs and want to keep up with ttrpg.network. This instance is relatively inactive so I never see their posts on my front page, and it's content is spread over several communities. I want to be able to see what's going on there while still using my Lemmygrad account.
